Hello Hawk00Refferencer, and welcome (again? ;) ) to the Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki. Would you mind if I list you as a Croatian translator on User:Dinoguy1000/translators? And if you need any help with anything or have any questions, please feel free to ask. Happy editing! ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:54, May 6, 2013 (UTC)

Well, this is my first time having an actual account. I did countless additions to the wikia in the past, mostly doing Croatian translations or improving trivia, so finding anything for me to edit has become sort of a search work.
Thanks for the welcome. I would be honored to translate more card names. Does this mean I can see what cards lack a Croatian name? --Hawk00Refferencer 15:07, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I do have a question: how do I do that "undo revision thisandthat" thing? I just saw someone vandalized Worm Noble's arabic name in favor of useleess text.--Hawk00Refferencer 15:10, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Nevermind, I figured it out. --Hawk00Refferencer 15:11, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for all your work over the years, then. ^_^
Is there any official Croatian media? If so, I'll be sure to add tracking for cards that don't have a Croatian name when I do the same for other languages with official releases. (I may actually do so for all languages we support, but I haven't decided yet, and official languages will get priority regardless.) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:39, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
(-_-) What we have in Croatia can barely be called proper media. There's no mangas here, and the cards are in English. There is even a dubbed version of the anime, but it only uses English names since the GX era onwards, s there's barely and Croatian card material at all. I'm trying to promote a fully-translated approach by contributing in this way.
The pre-GX era did have card names translated, but those names were seriously missed, not being logical or correct at all, the translators must have been drunk when they wrote the script for that. OI! Don't you dare put those names up as official Croatian names, you hear me! Otherwise the Egyptian gods will be named after fish! --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 14:51, May 8, 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, if the names are official, they need to be documented as such, regardless of their objective quality. That being said, there will be room for unofficial but more accurate translations in the future, so all is not lost. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:50, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
Not a soul in all Croatia thinks THOSE are official names. They can't possibly be treated as such because they basically changed the names every 5 seconds and every 2 episodes. --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 09:09, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
Regardless, they need to be documented. If they weren't translated consistently, that's a strong argument for not using them as the primary Croatian name (I think we'll have a similar situation with official Greek names, which were also inconsistent), but we still should have them listed. We can always figure out the specifics of presentation later, though. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:25, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
So you want to store those incorrect names under the "names" section, but not under the main card article? I guess I can live with that, but I honestly can't remember them all, and I really, reeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to go watch that dub just for that sake. I can enumerate some examples, though. "Embodiment of Apophis" was simpply called "Paklara", which means "lamprey" (maybe it was some weird pun for "pakao" which means hell, but I have no idea how they got to that idea). Next, "Slifer the Sky Dragon" was simply called "Nebeski Zmaj", which only means "Sky Dragon" or "Heavenly Dragon", although they did include "Slifer" as part of the name during the Battle City finals. Next we have "Summoned Skull" as "Skeletor" (I don't have to say what this name was based on, right?), "Celtic Guardian" as "Gorštak" (this is a phrase used to describe people living in mountains), "Red Eyes Black Dragon" was simply called "Pakleni Zmaj" (Hell Dragon), Silver Fang as "Divlja Zvijer" (Wild Beast), Rocket Warrior as "Raketar" (the rocketter), Gilfort the Lightning as "Olujni Vitez" (Storm Knight), Relinquished as "Mrtvozornik" (the mourger), Battle Steer as "Viking" (the viking), and I honestly can't remember the rest of them. I do know that because of the poor naming the show rapidly changed expressions for terms and names, as well as voice actors, and did not go further than the Battle City arc of the DM era. Every other era from GX afterwards uses english terms for names and terms (which is really, really annoying because they don't even pronounce it correctly).
If they really have to be documented, may I do it personally?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 10:05, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
After the card page redesign, the names should all be documented on the main article, and the Card Names pages should be disappearing (that's what the mockups do currently, and is the current plan unless someone raises an objection and provides a reasonable alternative). Basically, we're going to have separate tables for each media version of a card (OCG/TCG, anime, manga, various video games, and the other card games and whatnot), with each table documenting the official name of the card in the languages it was released in for that media (I hope that makes sense @_@ ), and then at or near the bottom of the article will be a dedicated "Names" section enumerating all the official names, and that's where unofficial names will be listed. There are still details to be worked out about the whole thing, though, and as I mentioned above, we'll probably make exceptions on "official names only" in the main card tables for stuff like Croatian (and Greek and Arabic and whatnot) where the official names were just completely half-assed and inconsistent, in which case the tables will list a "preferred" fan translation (probably with an indication that it's unofficial), and the official name(s) will only be listed in the "Names" section.
I definitely won't begrudge you for not wanting to rewatch the Croatian dub just to get the official names, and I also won't argue if you want to personally handle all that yourself. It would be a good opportunity to document the Croatian dub in general, though (voice actors, character names, etc.), if that interests you at all. I would suggest creating a subpage in your userspace where you can start listing all this stuff to keep it all straight, especially since that would mean if you do decide to rewatch the Croatian dub, you can go one episode at a time, list out all the info in your userspace, and then not have to suffer through the dub again. =)
If you want me to explain anything I mentioned better, please ask, I don't think I did a very good job of it here. XD ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:21, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Boy, the idea of having all those wrong names put under the main article sure does terrify me, I can tell you that.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 10:28, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Heh. =) If it's any consolation, as I said, for cases like Croatian the official names will probably be sequestered to the "Names" section at the bottom of the page, so they'll still be reasonably out-of-the-way. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:15, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Before I forget, we need to do something about this guy: I cincerely doubt he has this wikia's best iterest at heart. --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:43, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

China is not Language![edit]

Yea, my bad - Must had a brain fart or something. But thank you for correcting my mistake. --iFredCat 16:02, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, you used caps lock, does this mean you're mad?--Hawk00Refferencer 16:19, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Hey, on an unrelated note, I don't know if you are but you can add your signature by typing four tildes (~~~~) instead of writing it out manually. :) --Spongebob456 Talk 16:33, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Better now, Hawk Gawk? --iFredCat 16:52, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I did add a signature via button. Why, did it not connect?--Hawk00Refferencer 17:06, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Well, it's better to type it down rather than click the button - as it must be glitch and no longer work that way since we are often using the keyboard over that button clicking on. --iFredCat 17:09, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
So I just write my name like usual? Sounds like a bit of a pain--Hawk00Refferencer 19:18, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
No. Just type in 4 tildes. Your sig will show up when you publish your change. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 20:51, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Using the signature button is fine. I think, it's the absence of links in your signature is causing people to think you're typing the signature, rather than using an automatic one. In Special:Preferences, you've probably ticked the box labelled "I want to use wikitext in my signature", which removes the automatic links. It's advisable that you either untick that box or manually add a link to your user page in the box above it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:54, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, done. Better now? --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:15, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, looks good. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:19, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Card names[edit]

It's to maintain some semblance of order. If a user placed all the appropriate info in a page, but in random harum-scarum order, the page would still be organized correctly, but if a person edited it, it would be a mess. The names should be listed in alphabetical order as such. And yes, Japanese names always come last, regardless of alphabetical order. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:47, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for clearifying that. I'll be careful from now on. --Hawk00Refferencer 21:25, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Odd in this edit you changed the Croatian name. I am sure that Battle is Borba, Ship is Brod, Cherry is Trešnja and Blossom is Cvijet. Not sure why would you change this... Same goes to the other card names. Energy X 18:09, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Those are all correct translations, yes, but if you put all those together it sounds quite dull. It takes more than correctivity for a translation to be good. It takes dedication, creativity and stability. Croatian is not dedicated to the TCG, we can use our transcriptional origins from the OCG if anything else fails.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:28, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Again, I am Mover, not Admin. And yes, I am aware that we got some supports on our sides, such as this and Gallis Man. --iFredCat 22:28, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

I hear no difference. But it might be just me. I also hear no difference between a Professor, Doctor, or Deacon. It's all some titles of authority, moreover wiser and more experienced than I am, deserving my respect. But if I insulted you by saying this, I appologize.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:36, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't know we can have friend-lists.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:36, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
No worry, you have my full trust on this. I created that friend-list long ago when I was still "immature" in that system. You can create one of your own if you like to, Hawk. Also, I am surprise that Yami was on that IP-Addressed User's side this time. --iFredCat 22:38, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
And also, I am pretty sure they don't mind being called by their Usernames, not by title or rank. Just treat them like as if we are neighborhood and all of that. You can call me FredCat, Fred, iFredCat, or Freddy. Just as long as the name you chose that suited for your taste, I am fine with that. --iFredCat 22:41, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

I don't, I just read the information the site has. Energy X 19:35, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

That sounds a bit backhand. I usually wait to see the episode until I decide on a translation, in case I get any other information that might entirely explain what the card's name is based on. Now it makes it look like I'm against your every action, I'm sorry for that.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:44, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Hm, it could be "Duševni", but that is a rough translation, so maybe "Dušrick"? Both are very odd and I cannot think what is better. Energy X 19:41, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Please don't be insulted, but that sounds dull. When you say "Duševni" or anything else based on "duh", it may as well mean "spirit", that's why I usually use the words "sablasni" or "avet" to translate "ghost". It must also be a pun for "trik". Something like "Avetrik"?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:44, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
I like the way you think. Avetrik it is. Energy X 19:45, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Also, since there are 2 seperate name models (1st "Ghostrick X" and 2nd "X of Ghostrick"), how about mentioning the Croatian names as "X Avetrika"?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:50, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
It would sound weird something like "Avetrikska Vještica", while "Vještica Avetrika" sounds much better. Energy X 20:06, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
I came up with a few more variations. Which one do you preffer? "Avetrik", "Sablastrični" (Sablast + Trik), "Sablastrik", "Straškavi" (basically, the "trick" in Ghostrick refers to "trick or treat", but since there's no evident translation for that, the closest I got to translate that is either "trik" or something Halloween based, "maškare").--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:26, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
"Straškavi" sounds neat, more so than the others. You should use that one, in my opinion. Energy X 21:32, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I'll take that one under consideration. Should we wait until we hear the TCG name as well?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 16:04, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Are you sure you don't preffer "Sablastični" or "Sablastrik"? I mean, if "ghost"/"ghastly" is commonly translated as "sablast/sno" (because "duh" commonly means spirit), it kinda does make a nice ring to it.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:05, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

Math =/= Explanation[edit]

Basic mathematics are poor reasons for the "Numbers" number. The other fact of 5 rank 4 was false as both characters only possess two rank 4 monsters each. Jet-Black Nova (talkcontribs) 19:21, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, first off: Why is everyone so afraid of replying on their own profile?
and second: What other explanation is there? You dislike the complex theories, you dislike the simple theories, you guys are giving an impression like you don't give a bootstrap about what Numbers stay for. Are you saying no Number holds any kind of significance?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:36, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Removing Number 7 Trivia[edit]

I don't think you need to move the trivia regarding Number 7: Lucky Straight to the new forum page. On Forum:Restore Numbers trivia we agreed to keep obvious trivia like Number 7's on it's own trivia page. So there's would be no reason to move it. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 17:01, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not "removing" it, I'm stating all the possible Number meanings for the Number cards on that table. Besides, if you really thought they're all so obvious, we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:17, May 26, 2013 (UTC)
What do you mean? It's still in the table. I only removed it from the official card trivia page because that's what was agreed to. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:38, May 26, 2013 (UTC)
What? When did we agree on that? Are you saying you want to remove ALL the Number meanings permenantely?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:39, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Limited Usage[edit]

I'm not sure. Maybe there's just a limit as to how many times you can click the "next" button. In any case, I hypothesized that as I skipped over "scrolling" through all that, by messing with the address bar. is an example, but I replaced "Oyster+Token" with "O-Oversoul". Maybe what you can do to avoid this is just input a certain card name in the address bar to avoid skimming through the early alphabetical results. Hope this helps. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:26, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

Also, you can go back to my talk page where TwoTailedFox also left a message that can help you. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:27, May 27, 2013 (UTC)
Seen it, thanks a bunch.
PS: out of curiosity, why is it that every time I leave a message to someone they end up replying on my wall instead? I don't mind that, I'm just curious.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 15:31, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

Number Trivia[edit]

Now are you feeling better to have all those "trivial" things that nailed down in some articles where original articles can't keep? At least I showed you some respect when coming to Croatian names - someone disagreed strongly to your in one article, but I reverted it back to normal just for you. --iFredCat 19:06, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate that, although if people seem to dislike the translations I make it would've been my duty to see why they dislike it and if the new name is a better idea.
The question remains, are YOU satisfied that I looked up all that Number detective work? Not all of those Numbers were easy to track, y'know.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:32, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
I would say the same with Joey and the Card Artworks gender conflict. And I don't think "satisfy" is right word for that line - I would say that I actually appreciated of your effort to put them all together in one page [sic], instead. --iFredCat 19:46, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that's what I meant. The only articles I'm not entirely sattisfied with are the meanings behind numbers 65 and 105.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:46, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
If you can't find the meanings behind those two monsters, maybe you would ask some users who know/have the source or research through them some more. Until you get them nailing down in the article. And the "satisfy" is actually spelling with 1 T's, not two. See here for more define. --iFredCat 21:49, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Right, right, my bad. I'm trying my best to match up to the professional English. The only thing that's missing is someone to check up on my work to see if there's any typos and errors there... except "my work" is quite long.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:56, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
I am also not quite professional with the English - "Grammar". And I should not speaking right now as due to my illness. See you on Sunday, I am sure Dinoguy can help you with those issues. --iFredCat 22:27, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Illness?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:39, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Common Cold - I am now under affection of that, as since of last Sunday evening when I returned home. TwoTailedFox noted my behaves as of recently and wished me to fixture it by either get ban or leaving the site (latter was by my choice) until I recover. So I chose the latter and have to recover the hard way. That's the reason why I had to cease the talk now. --iFredCat 22:53, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Then why on earth are you talking to me now? Hurry up and recover! And don't reply on this message until you did, understood. I dont want to be the cause of your state becoming worse. Don't make me worry, I'm already scarified enough as it is. You just recover.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:56, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Cat haz returns! And he haz recover! --iFredCat 16:41, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

We should wait. When episodes launch, we ought to give the name of the card first, then wait for TCG name to be revealed, in my opinion. Energy X 21:24, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

I agreed with Energy X, patience is a virtue would be a good advice for you to remember, my friend. --iFredCat 21:26, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

And I have waited for quite some time. Waiting is one of the few things I'm good at. I usually wait for the episodes to be subbed in order to see the cards in action. There's plenty of synonyms and homonyms that might affect the result of the name.
In the meantime, any thoughts on how to name Dragoascention?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:45, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Dragon titles for Zmaj, while Ascension could be uzašašće or penjanje. Since the words are merged, maybe "Vrhovni Nebeski Zmaj Uzašašća"? Energy X 21:51, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Nah, too dull, my tongue gets bitten just thinking on how to pronounce that. We need something shorter, more compact, some kind of decent nominal. If we can't find one, well, we might as well leave it at Dragonascention. Given the fact it ends with -on, we can assume it's actually a pun for other dragon names, such as Excellion for example. Maybe the manga translators or TCG edittors might come up with something in the meantime.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:55, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

Plameni Krijesci sounds much better than the one used before. While I do not know any other translations, I think there are some shows that have the names translated. I'll tell it to you later, but not soon enough. Until then, "Plameni Krijesci" it is. Or are. Energy X 22:20, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Aw man, and here I thought I came up with something original. Okay, I'll alter those myself.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:31, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Most of them are good, though grammar should be placed first. But, what do you mean by joining? Are you going to be a full-fledged Staff member? Energy X 13:04, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

..... Okay, I'm a little confused now, am I not already a member?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 15:48, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
You are just a user, to be a Staff member you'd have to work for them. The difference is that as a Staff member you can delete Wikis (naturally, only those that are "vandal hubs"). Energy X 20:00, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Well, this is kinda awkward... Okay, I did say I never knew the difference between movers and admins. So, back to the point: what grammar errors?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:35, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
If there are any grammar errors. Just because the name is "cooler" does not mean that we should just ignore grammar. That's what I was meaning. Energy X 22:11, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, but when was the last time I ignorred grammar?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:27, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
By the way, remind me to ask about the Barian adjective later. --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:27, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
While we're on the "by the way" issue, can you tell me why none of my external links appear valid when I try adding them?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:29, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Croatian Dub[edit]

All I'm doing is telling User:MermaidMelodyFanForever to read your argument concerning the Croatian dub and let me know if they have any problems with it. I am neither advocating nor promoting the Croatian dub as putting forth official Croatian card names. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:42, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

My appologies if my words sounded harsh to you. I forgot how accent isn't transferable over the chat.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 16:46, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

It is better. I thought gasser was a word that cannot be translated, like Zombiestein. Energy X 18:52, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Apparently, it's the name of the guy's hat.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 21:17, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Croatian Dub[edit]

Yes, I was talking about those names. The translators are so lazy to do the work. However, I think that Elemental HERO Burstinatrix should be changed to 'Explonatrix' for the Croatian dub name as you can hear on the dub that Jaden actually calls the monster that name.

-- Be Happy! User:MermaidMelodyFanForever (talk) 15:02, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

(O_o)... Okay, I'm against that. and when exactly did Jaden call her that?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:12, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I think, i wrote it down wrong but it might of been Episode 1 or 2. --Be Happy! User:MermaidMelodyFanForever (talk) 19:25, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case. Besides, as long as he said "Elemental Hero" instead of "Elementalni Heroj", we can assume thta was just a lapsus linguae. And if it was only one case that he called her that among the gajillion others, it can barely act as a representative translation.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:33, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I see your point, now. But, what did he call her the other times then, just Burstinatrix? -- Be Happy! User:MermaidMelodyFanForever (talk) 19:58, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

Is it possible you refered to the Serbian dub? In Croatian, all that's used are English names.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:05, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

Yes. It was the Serbian version. I'll ask UltimateKurbioh if I should add it in. --Be Happy! User:MermaidMelodyFanForever (talk) 20:47, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I'll try to, but for what do you need me to remind you? Just asking. Energy X 15:07, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Just for when you find the time. I was reconsidering slightly renaming some of them, and I wanted your oppinion on the idea.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 15:16, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Well, I remind you about the message to discuss the archetype names (e.g. Brotherhood of the Fire Fist). Energy X 11:39, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

So, you wanna do this now? Okay, pick an archetype.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:17, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, let's begin with Fire Fists. you can realize how the Croatian names are quite different from the TCG names given, right? The reason why I chose to call them "Star Flames" instead of "Fire Fists" was because I thought that the name "Zvjezdani Plamen" not only had a better vocal and acustic expression and finer phonetics, but it also expressed more commitment to it's original name "Flaming Star". Now, I would really like to keep it that way, but what I wanted to discuss is the usage of the adjectives in their names. Such as "Snažni Zvjezdani Plamen", "Žurni Zvjezdani Plamen", and I wanted your oppinion if we should keep this or replace it with "Bratstvo Zvjezdanog Plamena"?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:45, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
It would be better to replace it with "Bratstvo". It is more accurate. Energy X 20:56, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I'll get to work on that. Okay, next up, Cyber or Kiber? Be advised, not all monsters with Cyber in their name belong to the Cyber archetype.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 08:52, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
In some movies the name Cyborg is translated to "Kiborg". So yeah, Kiber. Energy X 09:13, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
So that's a vote for Kiber Zmaj and Kiber-Krajni Zmaj? Are you sure?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 09:25, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
We should avoid any non-Croatian letters, in this case "y". Besides, it is true that Kiborg is actually Cyborg in English. Cyber should mean Kiber, then. Energy X 23:24, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, but does it have a nice ring to it?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 08:01, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, done, now let's see, what's next... Meklords? How do you like the Croatian name for those?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 13:54, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Meklords? Hm. Would it be possible to translate to something like "Tehnolord" or "Mehanolord"? I really have no idea how lord, or mek, is translated. Energy X 14:25, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
(shaking head) That does not sound right. And for the record, Meklord is meant to be a pun for Mechlord, or Mecha Lord, Lords of Mechs, Mechas and Mechanics. In English, it sounds great, but in Croatian... I dunno, it makes no pulse rise. If anything, we could just shorten in from "Beskrajni Mehanički Car" to "Mehanički Car"? and add "Beskrajni" as a title in the end?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:06, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Probably not good to have a long name, so "Mehanički Car ???" is preferred. Energy X 16:56, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
Well, we could also use the word Meklord, it's pretty much the same thing.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 17:42, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
Oh. In the future, if the other languages have the same translation, then there should be no confusion; we should follow the same pattern and use the same name, in this case Meklord. Energy X 18:29, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
I will have to disagree on that part. As much as possible, if the TCG name goes way out of line (for example for Hope), I'd like to use the OCG as a basis. The Machine Emperor seemed like a nice idea in the beginning, and that's why I was reconsidering it. If only it wasn't so darn long to pronounce.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:25, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

Chaos Numbers[edit]

It is how they are called in the anime. For a new visitor, when he/she sees the cards used, he/she will be confused. This removes this confusion, at least for newbies. Energy X 14:22, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Last I checked, they still said "Number C" in the dub. and if we're using sub names, then wouldn't "Chaos Number 39: King Hope Ray" be more appropriate?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:07, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, not much. It might only be that my PC crashed some days ago and all data (including all pictures that were collected during the ages) are now lost. But it should not affect edits that I do here or somewhere else. Energy X 23:00, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Number C92[edit]

Hm, would it be better to name it as "Zmaj Kaosa Srca Zemlje"? Energy X 14:02, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

...... Yep, definitely, good thinking.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 15:26, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

I really have no idea this time. I'll leave the decision up to you; unless you do not know as well how to. Energy X 21:59, July 17, 2013 (UTC)

(sweatdrops) Sweatdrop...--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 22:20, July 17, 2013 (UTC)

Please don't change the translation for Bujin. Its not meant to be translated, the TCG name makes that clear. Bujin is kept to make the Chinese origins clear. Its the same reason we don't say that Yugi's translated name is "Game King". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:05, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

So now you're saying Bujingi and Bujintei is a nominal. Even though it's not apparent what gi and tei stands for to everyone. Čo'eče, you're such a weird wikia. You have trivia that does not allow trivial info, and you have translations that are no translated. Yugi is Yugi, and that's his name. Yugioh is Yugioh because that's how the story is called. But is Bujin a name as well, or just a title? The TCG refrained the name Bujin in order not to use the phrase "god", which is something like a taboo. You were around when the Bujin, no... Wargod archetype first came out. And you were completely fine with that name until it became evident TCG will use the term Bujin instead. For some reason you're willing to make it look as if the TCG follows the standards of it's origin. But no matter what TCG says, Bujin means Wargod, and it is not a name chosen by chance. But that is only my oppinion, so what do I know, eh?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 14:22, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
Expect that it wasn't at War God for that long and we moved everything to Bujin when the Org came up with that translation. I didn't see you making a stink about it when we first moved it to Bujin, you've only done so after the TCG did the same. Bujin is a title, yes, but the point is keeping the intended use. When someone in an OCG territory hears "Bujin", they don't think "War God", they think "those guys from that Chinese legend". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:48, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, is that so? Well that does not explain why tei and gi are not translated. It delludes me that you knew that the expressions meant Wargod, Vessel, Relic and Emperor back then but somehow refuse to claim the same now.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 17:09, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Number 70 is not a "Malefic"[edit]

In order for "Number 70" to be a "Malefic"/"Sin" monster, it actually needs to have the English word Sin in its Japanese card name. Keep that in mind for your Croatian naming. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 22:53, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

Oh right, sorry. Guess I'll have to change that on Sin Key Law as well.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 23:17, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

I saw some of your summaries on the articles you edited. Hm, haven't we agreed that we need to think of more "creative" names than use literal ones? Energy X 20:36, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, but one must recognize when it's going too far. For example, there's no mention of any "grades" in Etheric monster's names, and the two "Mysterious" cards were mistranslated. "Mysterious" is not the same as "Secret", and there was no need to alter the names. When the actual translation doesn't fit, then we take alternatives.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:58, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Well, it was about time you got your first 1000 edits; congrats! Energy X 20:33, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

Really? Wow, I didn't notice. Thanks. --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 11:28, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Sure, feel free to critique it on my Talk Page. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 15:30, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I didn't have time to explore what "Kuri" monsters could potentially be. I could just change it to Level 1 "Kuri" monsters. Yes, the "except for your normal draw" is necessary, as I did not say "for the rest of this turn", like "Bahamut Shark" does; it uses the same wording that "Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation" does in its last line of text, which means you can't add other cards to your hand during the same turn before and after you use the effect.
The "If" clause is legitimate; see "Box of Friends" and "Googly-Eyes Drum Dragon". I didn't want the effect to be mandatory with "When" (since if there no potential cards left to search, you would have to show your opponent your Deck if they asked, no matter what), but if you made it optional with "When", the effect can miss the timing. If a player chooses to activate the "If" optional effect, at least it will be their fault for searching when there is no "Kuri" card to search. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:47, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

I see that Croatian names are do not longer exist as a parameter. The founder himself removed that paramter (as well as some others) as our names (as well as the others) are non-official. Just wanted to tell you this news. Energy X 15:37, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

Eggs and bacon, why's the title "Croatian name given is not official" still there? Alright, fine, I can't blame them for that, but is there at least a page where the names can be seen and read? This Croatian translation thing is basically the only thing I do on this wikia.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 16:11, October 6, 2013 (UTC)
They'll be moved to the "Card Names page, a kind of subpage like "Card Trivia". Keep in mind that we're going to substantially changing the layout of the CardTable2 template (or replace it entirely, I forget). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 13:49, October 7, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the message, but a little heads up would've been nice. I understand what you have against it, but it's still comming like kind of a shock. Someone is sure gonna have their hands full removing the "Croatian name given is not offical" marks.
.... It's not me, is it?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 15:29, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

Croatian name parameter[edit]

Hey Hawk, I noticed that you've been changing the Croatian name parameter on card pages from crname to cr_name. I assume this is because of my recent bot run that updated several name and lore parameter names to add underscores (along with a couple other changes). Just so you know, the parameters I updated had been changed in {{CardTable2}} to the new forms prior to the bot run; the Croatian name parameter wasn't changed yet. When I do change it, it'll also be to use the ISO 639-1 code for Croatian, hr, so the parameter name will end up as hr_name. But I don't want to do a bot run for a single parameter if I can help it, so I intend to update a bunch more name/lore parameters simultaneously (if I can, I'm going to do all the rest of them in one go). While you don't have to go back through and undo the changes you've already made - I'll make sure my update catches both the original name and the cr_name you've been changing it to - it would be better for you to stop making this change to any other pages. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks! ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 20:31, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for the update. Sorry for the inconvenience. Will I get an update on this change when and if it happens? --Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 20:54, December 7, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll try to remember to let you know, but I don't know at this time when I'm going to do it, so I may forget by the time I finally get around to it (if I do, I apologize in advance =D ). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:02, December 7, 2014 (UTC)
