More Gladiators[edit]

Would Rock Stun Gladiator Beasts be any good? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 21:24, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

My brother thought it up. So far, Horn Gladiators have proved to be rather lackluster (I've been getting lots of dead Samnite/Secutor in hand). Why is Rock Stun bad? I always thought it was pretty good. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 22:32, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

I suppose so...but I thought the plussing came from destroying monsters in battle. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 22:57, November 3, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for explaining it to me, that explains a lot. I've been getting trouble with dead Samnite and Secutor. Would Gladiator Beast's Respite be worthwhile? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 12:29, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

Synjo and Misc[edit]

Synjo's a really really stubborn user. Last time he was here he ended up rage quitting because he just refused to accept the principles of card advantage and uses his lack of money as an excuse to claim that a card is "bad". The best thing to do is ignore him (I thought that maybe he had changed).

Also, I want to see how I could use the deck without Nanashick. Forum:BF2 Karakuri Help. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 00:07, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

I really liked your Starlight Road analysis. Also, I was thinking of more ideas for the Deck Guides. I was thinking of writing an article about the deck type in the current metagame for each guide (at the bottom or top of the guide). What do you think? Here's an example: [1] BF2 Talk Deck Guides 17:54, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Synjo and D-HERO Review[edit]

As BF2 said ignore him, and then he'll go to DFF, but don't worry either me or Resk will take care of him. (I've always thought about having a banned user list for DFF, but that could get really messy). Main reason I came here was because I need a review of this:

Thoughts on the above? I don't really know if Malicious is needed, the guy doesn't want any Synchros, but he is a good way to bring out a DARK for Escuridão. (Any other deckbuilder can help too.) ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:30, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

How does Dude help with PLZ? I mean anything that's not a normal spell gets thrown back into the deck, so... how? Anything else? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 04:01, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Re:ZPW[edit]

I have loved Beast of the Pharaoh since I first set my eyes upon it. With Hyper Librarian, the combo possibilities are endless. I'm glad you liked it. Why hasn't Merchant worked for you? Maxx "C" is an awesome card, granted, but it rarely will let me get through as many cards from my deck as Merchant. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 23:32, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Just never had the room for Goblin Zombie, I'll try it out. Why the Pyramid Turtle? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 23:39, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Also, just realized that you're using Gaia Knight and Revived King. Why? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 23:40, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Ice Barriers and Dark Smog[edit]

Dragon HERO[edit]

So that request on DFF, any suggestions for dragons? I don't think a Hopeless build would be good, unless the only 4 HEROes in the deck were Stratos and Neos + 3 Miracle Fusion, but that mix would be odd. A Blizzard Dragon or anything WATER Dragony pops into mind first. Thoughts?---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:38, November 11, 2011 (UTC)

Help settle a difference[edit]

Me and Bobafet2 have been arguing about an Exodia deck. Since you are the Exodia DeckBuiler helper, I wanted to know your opinion.

There is a variant very similar to Worm Exodia which also works with Future Fusion, but uses Light Machine Monsters instead of worms.

B2 says that it's no good because the Future Fusion+Machine combination is usually used for Overload Fusion OTK, which is generally a better deck.

My point is that , even if FF+Machines is great for OF, it can also be used for Exodia decks in a very similar way to Worm Exodia. The fact that it works "better" for another deck doesn't mean it can't work for this.

Plus, cards like Cyber larva, Cyber Valley and Cyber Ouroboro are great for this deck, since they can stall, deck thin, draw cards and/or recover cards from the graveyard.

The discussion : Talk:Exodia_OTK#Chimeratech_Exodia.

~Nerc

I just realized something. it's definitely not an OTK. I've removed Work Linx for that reason. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 01:18, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I give up. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 02:31, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

More ZPW[edit]

Not quite. This one is more insane, less consistent, and even more powerful at times. The main highlight is Road Warrior. It comes from Quickdraw Synchron. I use Nitro Warrior because it works for me far better than Black Rose Dragon. De-Synchro has worked amazingly well, giving me lots of +1s. I'll probably take out Machine Duplication. Basses has actually worked quite well - after Special Summoning it with Road Warrior, I can get a Level Eater into Trish or Level Eater + Basses with level boost. Could you try this out and fix it up? It's somewhat consistent but the lack of backrow is killing me.

From YCS Kansas City. He only used one Boggart Knight and three Giant Rats. I'm not sure if that's a bad idea or a good one...thoughts? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 18:00, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

I've been thinking about it and I like the general idea - Trap Stun or Decree, get Hyunlei, blow up your opponent's backrow. I think it'd be better with a third Trap Stun and some decent backrow instead of Decree. The Enemy Controllers seem excessive. I think Forbidden Lance would be better than My Body as a Shield. Giant Rat actually makes sense now that I think about it (for easier Hyunlei or Naturia Barkion) but I think two Rats and two Boggart Knight would better (unless of course everyone was using at least two Veilers). BF2 Talk Deck Guides 18:42, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

Really, all the Creature Swaps? Why? 9 monsters doesn't seem like enough. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 02:14, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

How about Wind-Up Kitten in X-Sabers (or at least in the Side Deck)? It could get rid of annoying Zenmaines plus any other card that's tough to get around. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 02:32, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

It's also Giant Rat searchable, EARTH Level 2 (Naturia Beast with Fulhelm) and can be tributed for E-Con. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 02:33, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

My own X-Sab. deck[edit]

I'm not a complete fan of Hopkins deck, but some points I do like. Anything to possible help my own X-Saber deck? Maybe drop Bogg. to 2? And add in 2 E-Con for Fulhelm? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:15, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

Note, I probably will drop the the Debris too. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:20, November 22, 2011 (UTC)
I would rather use 2-3 E-Con, than Level Limit. Anyway, I'll bring my update post up on the forum. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:35, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

About that test...[edit]

About that test, what do you mean by ORCS cards? Maniac56 (talkcontribs) 13:23, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, here is the Photon deck, I've never used them, and didn't see what they exactly accomplish, but I tried my best. Hope you like it!

So again, I've never made a photon, and have no idea what they are about. I tested them and the final result (what is above) could win about 70% of the time. I had trouble fitting all the cards I wanted in the deck, and it kept dead drawing with more than 40 cards, so that's why its only 40 cards. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Maniac56 (talkcontribs) 23:57, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Ape Deck[edit]

Hmm, need some thoughts on this, I'm falling asleep at my computer, so I'll let you look at this. He did want Billy, but really just wants some "Ape" cards. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 04:49, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

I thought I was forgetting something...just didn't realize it was Tengu. I'll just post up yours, it should work well. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:11, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
On a side note, which Masked HERO would be better for my deck at the moment? Masked HERO Acid or Masked HERO Daian, both of which come out in Premium Pack 14? I think Acid would be better, for my current build, and should I drop the Goka or another Fusion? Thanks. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:29, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
Dropping 1 Escuridão could work, I don't see many DARK monsters, but the occasional Inzectar(Most likely will see more, but only have 2 Super Poly). ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:31, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
My thoughts exactly, I like Masked HERO Daian, too, but the only E-HERO Earth I have is Gaia, and I don't feel like throwing in Wildhearts. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:03, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Opinion - Hey I'm Back[edit]

Do you think it would be better to add that Machina Cannon thingy? it fills the same needs, and can be used as a quick defense if you need it and don't have the fortress. Also, would you be able to add ancient gear gajitron dragon and geartown into this, since its also lvl 8, and with it and the cannon, you could run 2-3 trade-ins as well, of course giving up some spells and traps? Lightsworn[edit]

Glow-Up Bulb is an underused card that is absolutely amazing for the archetype for obvious reasons. Wulf can be sent for Solar Recharge. Ehren is actually quite useful, due to the abundance of Reapers. However, the downside is that it does flip the monsters and then return them. That's worth mentioning. Chaos Sorcerer has always been a valid option for Lightsworn. Some variants can use Sephylon, the Ultimate Time Lord, especially Magical Merchant builds. I suggest adding them. It's worth writing that Decree interferes with Gorz. Battle Fader is nice for Lightsworn Decks to main or side. If you're using Jain, Ehren, and Garoth I suggest ROTA. Tour Guide From the Underworld and Sangan are fantastic for the deck, allowing you to get Leviair (get back a Banished Gardna/Plague/anything else), Zenmaines, Leviathan, Giga-Brilliant, etc. I'm not sure I like Dandylion in the deck but it's like a double Necro Gardna. I've been using Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer because it irritates me to Banish Necro Gardna for BLS/Chaos Sorcerer as well as the fact that Kycoo is an amazing card. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 12:36, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Also, I prefer avoiding Garoth and going with two Ehren is possible. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 12:37, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

I also forgot Dragonsworn, with Genesis Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Red-Eyes Wyvern, and some other cards. Vayu Turbo is a Lightsworn Variant. There may be more stuff on Forum:Deck Guide/Chaos. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 15:20, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hopeless Clear Dragon[edit]

I'd like a proof reading of the deck I made. I'm using Double Cyclone, in case World gets negative, but I could drop it for another MST. Although, I'd then be 1 card short. Can't use BLS, it's more than $10 (Poster Request). ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 16:50, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Short a single card, add another Terraforming? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 17:38, December 18, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, Bottomless could work really well. Stops Dino Rabbit, fairly well (Along with almost everything else).

RE: Zenmaines vs. Stardust[edit]

If you read Stardust Dragon, it only cares that it negated the card, it doesn't need to destroy it. (There's also probably a ruling on it on the rulings page)
Wind-Up Zenmaines can detach more than once per turn to save itself, and can do so in that situation.

Deck Guide Project[edit]

Hello, my name is Inferno

I would like to ask if I can join the deck guide project. I know I haven't done a ton of edits as a Wikia contributor, however, I do enjoy playing Yu-Gi-Oh and would like to share some of my knowledge on decks.

I battle on Duel Network so I have use to some of the new cards. If I am given permission, may I ask to do a deck guide over a Verz/Steelswarm hybrid deck? I have tested it multiple times on duel network and it is very strong.

I am not sure, if I am allowed to, that I have to talk about the entirety of any archetypes that I mention because I can do that as well if need be.

Thank you for your time.

--Inferno I20 (talkcontribs) 21:31, January 25, 2012 (UTC)

No problem, I doubt that anyone would take a person's word but I do not mind.

Here is my decklist for the Verz/Steelswarm hybrid

The main goal of this deck is to stop your opponent from special summoning monsters through Grave of the Super Ancient Organism and other various cards while you are able to Special Summon your monsters without fear. The main goal, though is to quickly swarm your opponent with Level 4 monsters and xyz those monsters to keep the pressure on your opponent.

The most important xyz monster to get out as fast as possible is Verz Ophion (hopefully using Steelswarm monsters as its xyz material which I'll explain later) and stop all Level 5 or higher monsters from being Special Summoned. Remember xyz have rank not Level so in that case if you are battling a deck relying heavily on xyz, use Verz Nightmare.

After summoning Verz Ophion, use its effect to grab Infestation Ripples (or any other Infestation card depending on the situation) but mainly ripples to continue summoning more Level 4 Steelswarm monsters.

That was just a glimpse onto the capabilities of this deck. I look forward to your reply

Seeing as Resk has been off for almost a month (Hope she's ok), I decided to give all the senior members of DFF temp admin status, just in case. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:41, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

DFF Deckbuilder Application Section[edit]

Seeing as we seem to be getting more and more requests for Deckbuilders, I think we should create an Application section on the Main DFF page, under our staff section. This section would let users post a quick request for deckbuilder status and let them give us a reason they want to join, then 3 of us would go do the trial. We would of course discuss in "that" place. Thoughts on this idea? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:45, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

Check this for me. Forum:Decks for Free!/Criteria and Application and Forum:Decks for Free!/Application Turn-In Center. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:16, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

Should we reopen DFF? We have under 25 requests, and if we open up, I can probably take 1-2 of the ones that are on hold. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:51, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

It Works[edit]

Yeah, we already have applications! They seem good, so far. Anyway, test User:LaserGhost. Go to:Forum:Decks for Free!/Application Turn-In Center to see the Application, and who I assigned to test him. Sorry, if I'm acting bossy. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:17, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Can you also assign a deck to User:Destroyer Gandora 808? We don't have 6 builders. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:19, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Post up your WDC deck, I made the sections. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:43, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Please also test User:Battlemaniac. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:18, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Deck Help[edit]

Standard Malefic Deck, except that this one is supposed to summon Demise, King of Armageddon. The Reason? A poster wants a deck that can summon him, and I wanted to pair him up with Malefics, thoughts? Other deckbuilders are free to comment as well. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 21:51, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

He was ok with PoD I think, but seeing as most of the deck is heavy special summon, I avoided PoD, I can try to work in 2-3, but I don't know what to remove. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:27, March 4, 2012 (UTC)
Been testing this, and it works well, even without PoD. I feel like I can give it to the poster. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:23, March 6, 2012 (UTC)

DFF test[edit]

The solution for the deck was the wanghu stun. You gave no money limit so there you go!

LG talk My own Guides 08:58, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hi lappyzard, can you tell me again what does budget means? Cuz i heared that before but i forgot it. I think it meant having lots of expensive cards? Im not really sure LG talk My own Guides 17:58, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

DFF Creator deck[edit]

Not quite what you were expecting, right? The Creator is a powerful card, but to use him to his best ability, you need to run a bunch of high-Level monsters, which then become very hard to get out from your hand or Deck. My solution was to do something I've wished other people would do - use Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation to get out a load of powerhouses. Once they die, The Creator can revive them.

Sazank is the one card in here that I would actually need to test the deck to see if it worked (and believe me, any deck for DFF would be tested). I'm not sure whether its being Level 3 means that Super-Transformation wouldn't work so well, but if it didn't, I'd reaplce him with Flame Armor Ninja.

Oh yeah, I didn't list an Extra Deck as it really isn't needed, but basically any Level 4 or 8 Xyz Monster without any restrictions on it would work (and mayber Levels 2, 3 and 5, seeing as I've got Mask, Sazank and Dasher).

So there you have it. Use your Ninjas to summons some heavy hitters, smash your opponent into paste, and if your monsters die, well you've got The Creator to revive them. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 20:27, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

I've read your comments on my deck, by the way (your decision page isn't very well hidden), and while I know I won't change your opinion, I feel a certain obligation to justify some of my inclusions.

  • To quote you 'There is no consistent way to get out The Creator.' Later you say that Beckoning Light is a bad choice, when using it on both The Creator and The Creator Incarnate is a good way of summoning him.
  • Second, The Creator does do something for the deck. Alright, he's the back-up against duelists who destroy my high-Level monsters, but I don't really see another way a monster with that kind of effect can be used, other than to revive high-Levels.
  • Burial, I can see your point. It lets me get back anything banished by Super-Transformation or the Envoy, but in retrospect, I guess I ought to replace it with Morphing Jar.
  • Running D-Draw with 2 targets doesn't to me sound like it would work. Just saying.
  • Advance Draw, again, in retrospect, would have been better off as a third Trade-In, or something else entirely. But my reasoning was 'sacrifice a monster, then revive it with The Creator.' I can see why that reasoning may seem a little odd when I could simply have run another Trade-In, but then again I also reasoned that in some cases it would be easier to have a sacrifice on the field than a discard in my hand.
  • As for why I didn't test the deck, it that I wasn't taking it seriously. I figured you'd want it done fairly quickly, especially considering that you didn't have the staff to test a load of people at once.

Thanks for reading though all this stuff. I know you don't really care, but its just something I had to do. As an extra note, any further feedback you could give me would be wonderful. See you around. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 22:10, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

Even if we can't test a load of people, dosen't mean you have to forgo testing the deck. I mean, I even skip out on testing a deck, if I've built that deck many times. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:42, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

Decks for Free! Test - Normal Monster Deck[edit]

Would an Ojama deck be acceptable, or would you prefer more than 9 Normal Monsters in the deck? AEtherchild (talkcontribs) 17:47, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

So, I went and made an Ojama deck for the test; if you say a Normal Monster deck for this test should have more than 9 normals, let me know and I'll go for something else :3

It was very awkward to get the spell balance right, and I have no idea how this deck manages to do what it does, but it works better than I thought for one of the few archetypes I've never verged on. AEtherchild (talkcontribs) 22:50, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

Took a while to find a balance for this style of deck that worked, but what I've come up with here has a good feel to it. AEtherchild (talkcontribs) 15:07, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Decks for Free! Test - Sacred Crane Deck[edit]

Hey Lappy, Long time no see. DarkAce said that i didn't fail, only because it was my computer that went down and i couldn't post. As SM10 said, A Sacred Crane deck is a little. . . Overdone. So i decided to make mine Original (Atleast as far as i know.) Anyway here it is.

Ok I have a lot of hopes on this deck as it has have very good playtests for me. The deck's basis is, of course, Sacred Crane and the many ways to summon him. One of the most consistant ways to summon him is Via Summoner Monk. Next to using the Chaos Monster this deck also plays Chaos Zone, a card i found works beautifully a Sacred Crane Deck. From testing this deck i also found that it has a REDICULACE amount of Draw Power (I was almost able to deck myself out in one move one time. lol. it was the only time i cannot find a chaos monster.) Unlike the other decks i built, this deck is rather straight forward and easy to play and not a lot to explain. i hope you Enjoy ^^. SquirtleHero (talkcontribs) 00:41, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Lappy...[edit]

Umm, do you have any thoughts on AE's Normal Deck? Also, you do remember that your doing that "Bunring Skull Deck", right? Anyway, what I wanted to ask, is do you think a "Retired" should be placed by Resk's name? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:20, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Can you give a test to User:Adaptdeckplayer? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:17, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

DFF Issue - Getting Our House in Order?[edit]

Some of the posters have been recently posting that I've been the only one doing requests. Now that's kinda true, but I know some of your reasons for this. Now I have a few propositions to make:

  • Issue 1: We have a backlog of requests again, so is there any way you guys could be on more/comment more on DFF Applicants, so we can hire new people? Also, what do you guys think about possibly taking on "Deckbuilder Apprentices"? They would just be people who applied and that we personally think would have potential later?
  • Issue 2: We have a huge backlog of Decks in the Archive that should be moved into the Galleries, so why not hire people to specifically move the Decks into the Galleries?
  • Issue 3: Do we need 3 people to do the trials? I personally think 2 should be good.
  • Issue 4: Should we ever make the "Dark Sun" public? Sometimes it's important for people to know what we think, and sometime the raw comments and better than our soft-cake comments?
Just Reply back with the "DFF Issue" header followed by your name, that way I can follow it easier.

---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:36, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

It's Cool, I know what happened (You were basically the bolded sentence above) , just wanted to see where everyone stood. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:26, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

As it stands:

Issue 1: 4/5 Deckbuilders would like to have Apprentices (BF2 said they wouldn't really work, I kinda see where it's coming from), as for the Activity thing, just do it when you can, no worries. Do you guys want to go with this, give me a final vote, I think we're running a Democracy, so majority.

Issue 2: 4/5 Deckbuilders (BF2 had no comment). Do you guys want to add this, give me a final vote, I think we're running a Democracy, so majority.

Issue 3: Vetoed

Issue 4: Vetoed, but it was suggested that we more the Sun outside of Wikia Servers, thoughts?

Anyway, I'll set up a Vote Count on my talk page, under the DFF Section.

---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:33, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

Anyway way to keep it kinda hidden? I mean if you just make a forum for it...it would just be clutter for the normal Academy Forums. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:30, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

Zombie World, Cyber Shadow Gardna, Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower[edit]

If Zombie World & Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower are active on the field and Cyber Shadow Gardna is set, then activated, will it be summoned from the field as Zombie-Type (Via Z-World) and thus trigger Bone Tower? Or does Z-World apply its effect to Gardna after summoning completes, missing timing for Bone Tower?

Thanks

173.28.222.96 (talk) 03:20, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower activates upon the successful summon of a Zombie, and Zombie World's effect is continuous, so Cyber Shadow Gardna will therefore be treated as a Zombie as soon as it touches the field, thus triggering Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower.
