Trivia Pages[edit]

Sorry, it's nothing personal. It's just that Trivia pages are being crowded with "effect" similarities and poor trivia, so a clear line has to be made somewhere. In the future, there may be a page made for "effect similarities" so people can look up effects that are similar to the effects of other cards. However, the Trivia pages are primarily meant to point out distinct, obvious, and heavily supported similarities between 1 card and another card(s), based on a combination artwork, theme, effect design, names etc., as well as what media inspired them (e.g. "Inzektors" and "Masked HEROes" were inspired by the Kamen Riders). Just noting one ore two vague similarities isn't going to cut it.

Mecha Phantom Beast Rulings[edit]

Looking for answers to these questions. I cannot find any similar rulings so I am looking to you guys:

1. Can you use 'Scramble!! Scramble!!' on your opponent's tokens? It does not say and I am unsure if it is valid.
2. On either player's End Phase, can you activate 'Aerial Recharge' to summon a token, then tribute it for its effect?
3. If you have 'Mecha Phantom Beast Harriard' on the field, and a face-up 'Aerial Recharge', on the End Phase when you tribute the token, does 'Harriard's' effect activate, replacing the token?

Thanks for any input.Super Smasher 1 (talkcontribs) 04:22, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Generally, people don't go actively looking through people's Talk Pages, so you would be more likely to find an answer to your questions by reposting this in the Rulings section of the forums. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:57, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
I did, but I couldn't find anything pertaining to these questions. As such, I am asking you.Super Smasher 1 (talkcontribs) 05:14, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
No, I mean actually creating a new topic in the forums with these questions. At least, I request that you do this in the future, since I'll answer them now:
1) Look at the definition of Tribute on the Wiki. That will always be the case, unless stated specifically in effects like "Reptilianne Vaskii".
2) The effects of all Trap Cards are inherently treated as Quick Effects, as Trap Cards can normally be activated during either player's turn. Proof that they are Quick Effects? See the 2nd effects of "Breakthrough Skill" and "Skill Successor", which specifically state that their effects can only be activated during your turn. This means that normally, their 2nd effects could have been able to activate during either player's turn.
3) Since you Tributed a Token to pay the maintenance cost of "Aerial Recharge", the effect of "Harriard" will activate. To find out what type of effect a card has in the future, check the box above the effect text box and beneath the card number on the card article (on this Wiki). For "Aerial Recharge", it states "Quick-like, Maintenance Cost", which would have answered this and the 2nd question. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 06:05, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I already knew the answers to 2 and 3. I needed it written down somewhere because I'm getting flack from other people claiming that they aren't the rulings. I was only really confused with 1, but thanks for clearing it up.Super Smasher 1 (talkcontribs) 19:35, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

"Noble Arms" monster[edit]

Yeah, that much can be said (the part about it being treated as an Equip Spell Card after it equips itself), since it's not as obvious. However, the other part about it not being equippable from the Graveyard by the effect of "Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights" is obvious enough that it should be left out. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:37, January 3, 2014 (UTC)

Negate Activation VS Tribute for Cost[edit]

Example: You activate Galaxy Zero and Special Summon Galaxy Wizard. Can you tribute Galaxy Wizard while Zero is still equipped?Super Smasher 1 (talkcontribs) 18:11, February 18, 2014 (UTC)

The Misplays of Solemn Warning[edit]

I am creating this because I am getting a lot of problems with misplays on "Solemn Warning". Everyone knows that "Solemn Warning" negates the summon of a monster by paying 2000 Life Points, then it destroys that card, but many people are confused about HOW it negates a summon.

1) "When a monster(s) would be Summoned":
This phrase refers to a Normal Summon, a Flip Summon, or an Inherent Special Summon. Inherent Special Summons refer to summon effects like "Cyber Dragon" (with no ':' or ';'), a Contact Fusion, a Synchro Summon, an Xyz Summon, or a Pendulum Summon. Another way of seeing it are summons allowed by the rules of the game. This is where the idea of Hitting the Field comes into play. If "Solemn Warning" successfully activates, the monster(s) was NEVER on the field and is sent to the Graveyard. In the case of Pendulum Summons, only the monsters that are summoned, not the Pendulum Scale cards, are destroyed.
2) "when a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated that includes an effect that Special Summons a monster(s)":
This phrase refers to the Activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Monster Effect, where the word Special Summon can be found in the card text. This refers to revival cards ("Monster Reborn", "Call of the Haunted", etc...) as well as Fusion Summon Cards ("Polymerization", "Mask Change", etc...), and even the Rank-Up-Magic cards. What many people are confused about is when to activate "Solemn Warning" against them: YOU CAN ONLY ACTIVATE AGAINST THE CARD THAT SPECIAL SUMMONS, NOT THE MONSTER IT SUMMONS! This is because the Chain Rule clearly states that cards cannot activate during the resolution of a card effect. When the effect finishes, the monster already Hit the Field and is successfully Special Summoned, which "Solemn Warning" DOES NOT negate. This also means that if the monsters are on the field when you activate "Solemn Warning" against a "Polymerization", those monsters stay on the field, because the summon only happens during its resolution.
  • NOTE: Pay attention to the ';' in the Card text, as anything after the semi-colon is negated.
