You could archive the old content. Create a page Forum:Decks for free!/Archive 1 and copy and paste the old content there. You can move more sections there if they become complete or abandoned. Even make an /Archive 2, if that gets full. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:05, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

BEWK and Bluedog

• A user (Phoenixdrakenfire) had an interesting idea; he suggested that, as we're experienced deck builders, we could create guides for those who are less skilled. Deck Guides are in depth guides describing a type of deck (Dinosaur, Harpie, X-Saber, etc.), how they work, what their strengths are, and then provides different examples of decks. I've seen a few of these guides and I find them very helpful when looking for ideas. Creating these guides would be a huge undertaking, however, and would take a long time. That truely is an interesting idea. I do have a few questions about it, though:

1. Will these be individual pages, or something similar to the featured card on the Home Page?
2. How will this differ from the already-established Deck Type pages?
3. Will we be focusing on specific archetypes, or the many hybrid deck types (i.e. Cat Synchro, TeleDAD, etc.)?

This is what I think the guides should be -

1. individual pages (like a forum page, only seperate)
2. individual section for the guides (similar to the discussion or the duel terminal sections)
3. guides will be about any major type of deck, hybrids would probably be listed as a variant and placed with it's largest base (ex - Twilight would go with Lightsworn)
4. spaces for the viewers to put their ideas (may give the guide author things to add)
5. all guides give examples/variants of their deck
6. May give strenghts and weaknesses
7. Tells how deck works (duh)
8. Written by a skilled user of the deck or someone who knows their way around the deck (not like the Deck Type pages lol)

• Your endeavour seems very interesting, and I cannot help it - I wanna join! I was a Judge in the original WDC, have been active in the Deck Help forum forever, and have a long history of successful deckbuilding. That said, I can cover any guide you like, but I'm especially adept with Lightsworns (and their variations) and Burn. I am looking forward to your reply.

• Thanks for the complements. It took me a while to make the deck. The problem with this deck is I wanted to use alot of 1 for 1 cards, and there is no 1 for 1 card that can put Yellow, Black, and Green back in the deck from the hand. Drawing those Ojamas can really hurt the deck, so maybe I should throw in Magical Mallets? I dunno... -bewk

• I decided to take some time to edit a person's deck idea (Well more of come up of a way to make their idea work.). Check your decks for free topic and at the bottom somebody asked for a blue eyes white dragon + Earthbound immortal deck. Honestly I think its a pretty crazy and tough concept to actually use so check it over. Hopefully I did a good job. Its not really in my familiar deck zones. But its fun. Yeah, Mausoleum.

• Yeah XD I was debating on whether to use mausoleum or the spellcaster field. The deck works really well at getting tribute fodder if used with The Tricky. Tricky+Level stealer = two special summons for trubute. The tricky's cost ends up becoming two easy special summons. But I mainly didn't use mausoleum because Aslla piscu does not get its effect if the field is destroyed, and having a 2500 direct attacker is very useful if you keep it on the field. Me and a buddy talked it over early on when earthbound gods came to the TCG. We ended up deciding that fields that protect themselves work best. That and..I don't like Mausoleum as much due to the LP drain, so that decision was mainly due to personal preference of a defensive vs. offensive style. Well hopefully I will have time to edit some decks XD I will try to take reasonable ones since sometimes its tough to make a deck. I've been working on the Assault mode guy's deck on paper...but assault modes take up too much deck space in my opinion so I have yet to come up with a build that I would use myself if I ran that deck, also a friend ran it and assault teleport backfires so much. (You send the assault mode back, shuffle draw two, then you draw another one =.=.) Anyways, it isn't worth helping on decks if you don't put enough effort in to make it a deck you would use for that build right? Hello Tantara

How would one get involved in your little team of building decks for people, what do they have to do is there a test or something, If you look at my user page there are the decks that I have built, I don't know if they are any good or not, but this sounds like a great way to help out this forum that has helped me so much. I would like to try it, if I'm not good enough you can tell me, it won't upset me. By the way, I put a Crystal Beast deck down on your forum, and haven't had anyone take it yet, is everyone busy or did I upset you guys by pointing out BEWK's lack of 40 cards, though it seems that he has fixed them now.
