Replying + Archiving[edit]

  • Took you long enough, you prat. -- Huajun Chen 17:29, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Blue-Eyes White Dragon images[edit]

  • the stupid editor previously stated that its a Chinese card. Well he is wrong, its a Japanese card!
    • That's because I fixed it since, you prat. -- Deltaneos 11:20, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Contradicting Japanese Rulings[edit]

Could you look at this? They seem to contradict each other. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 11:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

These too. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 12:05, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Before Del suffers from a heart attack, I'm going to point out that a good handful of the Japanese rulings contradict the english one. I was under the impression one set was for the OCG and the other was for the TCG. -- Huajun Chen 13:54, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Translating Japanese Names[edit]

why should we put that in the Trivia section of the card? Can't we just put it in the card box by the real Japanese name? AnnaV 20:14, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Dark World VS Gravekeeper[edit]

:220.157.76.193 put this on one of your archives. -- Deltaneos 14:40, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey i was just wondering would necrovalley stop the special summoning effect of dark world cards since it negates an effect that affects a card(s) in the graveyard, targets the dark world monster and also since its effect activates from ur hand(when you discard) and not from ur graveyard? and why cant it stop the effect of lord vampire or tree born frog since they both target and affect card(s) in the graveyard? ~ Neva

Moving pages[edit]

Can I move Yu-Gi-Oh! (first series anime), Yu-Gi-Oh! (second series anime) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (original manga), to exclude the parenthesis, sine nearly every page their mentioned in links to them like this Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 18:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Categories[edit]

Hey... I couldn't help but notice that someone was adding excessive categories to the card articles. I see you allowed type and attribute... wondering if the others were "allowed" or just a rouge editor going crazy. L8r --Pcouw 19:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

She was doing me a favor getting started. I announced my intentions and started adding categories a few days ago. Now all the sudden, everyone's bitching. I was trying to bring a little organization to the complete mess that is the TCG and OCG categories. There's so many articles, you can hardly find anything. If someone had a problem with what I intended to do, why didn't someone say something when I was making the categories back on Thursday? --TheJackal 20:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

I had a talk with Ly. I frankly don't want anything to do with this wikia, and most specifically, you bitches, anymore. She IS willing to go back and make the changes you want. And for your information, it's not YOUR wikia. When you pay for the web space, THEN it would be yours. --TheJackal 20:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Why do you have the picture that you currently have on the Horakhti the Creator of Light instead of mine? It makes no sense to have a card that someone obviously made on their computer instead of the real deal . Why? Isaac Aday 15:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Gallery templates[edit]

  • I don't really like having to create a new template evertime we come across a different sized gallery. Have you any ideas on how we could make one generic template capable of making card galleries of different sizes? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 16:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Confused[edit]

I thought you decided you wanted the type and attribute categories. --Lycentia 21:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

  • If the categories will return eventually, why are we just after removing them? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 22:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Tiny difficult to note errata changes[edit]

  • Okay, so we note errata changes no matter how small. If our format doesn't allow for both versions, we adjust (eg. the bullet points). But Dark Spirit of the Silent changes the colour of its card name from black to white (it doesn't have a foil name in either case). How are we supposed to note this? Do we just type out "The color of this card's name changes from black to white"? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 14:38, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
  • ...what about Japanese erratas? ;_; -- Huajun Chen 15:07, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

SRL + misprints + embedded categories[edit]

  • Are you sure cards numbered SRL-XXX and SRL-EXXX exist? I can't find anything about them other than on this site. I've gotten Spell Ruler booster packs in Europe, as in "Spell Ruler" was printed on the packet, but the cards inside them were numbered MRL. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 16:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
    • It would make sense since MRL-XXX and MRL-EXXX cards were printed beforehand, then when they got around to printng the "EN"s, Magic Cards had been changed to Spell Cards. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 20:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
  • This is unrelated, but do we uploaded misprinted cards such as this one? Please don't tell me they qualify as erratas. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 19:28, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Aghh. Are you positive? I scoured the internet and got nothing. The two corresponding galleries we have here are empty except for Set Gallery:Spell Ruler (TCG), but its three images are misnamed "EN" cards. I think you should them put it on the list right below the Beast of Craggy Island-- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 23:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
  • You do realise that embedding categories in the Card tables, puts the preload templates and fan made cards in user pages in the categories? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 23:59, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Would it be possible for me to become an admin sometime? Big Boss 0 00:17, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Hero Template[edit]

  • Concerning the hero template, can I just redirect the D-hero, E-hero, and Evil hero to this template or do I have to go through every individual card page and apply the new template? -- Huajun Chen 18:07, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

D.D. Template[edit]

  • ...there is no way we are keeping the Different Dimension template. -- Huajun Chen 20:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
  • It's just that would justify a card to be in this template? The fact they have “Different Dimension” or “D.D.” in their name? That’ll hardly work—Dimension Fusion is called “Twilight Fusion” in Japan. D.D. Warrior Lady is called “Twilight Zone Female Warrior”, D.D Borderline is called “Boundary of Another Dimension”, etc. A template should have a solid theme with a boldly defined line between what belongs in it and what does not. -- Huajun Chen 21:01, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

SRL scans[edit]

  • So have you got the SRL scans? -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 19:00, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
    • I might be moving too... well kinda... if I manage sort things out soon enough. So just to be see that I understand, remove the redirect links from the Set Gallery links from the Set pages but leave the Card articles, Card Galleries and redirects alone, just until we figure out if they exist or not. -- Deltaneos 22:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Errata Q on text position[edit]

Categorising Fusion Monsters[edit]

  • Are we going to manually enter all Fusion Monsters into Category:Fusion Monsters? --Deltaneos 00:35, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
    • No need, I've adjusted the Template:FusionMonsterTable so just add nocat as a parameter, giving it any value except leaving it blank, to pages you don't want in the category. You'll note | is used to note else statements, meaning it cannot be for anything else in if statements, so it canot be used to merge the Gallery templates. But we don't really need to do that anyway. --Deltaneos 16:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Big changes and suggestions[edit]

I understand you've been busy, but if you find the time there's a few things I'd like to discuss.

  1. June is interested in us having an IRC, I know we have this forum, but I don't don't really know the difference between a forum and an IRC. Are you interested?
  2. Are those A to Z listing pages, for the other card info pages, such as Card Errata Changes: A-C needed? Since all entries are put in the corresponding category when the template is included. I've also added contents to the categories so it's even easier to navigate through the category than the listing pages. Case sensitivity and the positioning of cards with special characters in their names such as Cú Chulainn seems to be the only problem with the categories though.
  3. You've problably noticed I've started to kick in the new image policy as I went through the YSDJ card erratas. Is everything OK with that?
  4. Other language cards: You mentioned before that adding images of different language cards is one of the future goals of this wiki. How is that going to work? Some galleries are already crammed with loads of reprints, Bandai and DDM cards. I added a German gallery to Dark Blade, but undid it. I kept the pictures though.

Please try to get back to me on any of those of Prismatic Secret Rares (above) if you can manage to squeeze in some time.
--Deltaneos 22:53, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Updating nav templates[edit]

  • Could you pick an errata page and replace where it says Errata in the navigation template with User:Deltaneos/Sandbox and click "Show preview". Tell me if I changed the navigation templates to the current state of my sandbox, would that take up too much space and seriously slow things down? --Deltaneos 00:28, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • I've to head now, but be sure to check it soon sos I haven't any changes. --Deltaneos 00:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Tyes of Monster Effects[edit]

  • Where did you get the idea that for an effect to be considered Multi-Trigger it requires a choice? And why is Monster part of the page names for effect types? Shouldn't they just be Ignition Effects etc. --Deltaneos 19:57, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • According to the Rulebook Trigger Effects are effects that activate when you have fulfilled a specific requirement. Multi-Trigger Effects are effects that can be activated even it's your opponent's turn. --Deltaneos 20:10, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Do you know any online stores that's sells yugioh card that could be trusted or in other words legit? and is stop2shop.com one of them?

Special "Yu-Gi-Oh!" pages + DPK + Wildedge misprint[edit]

  • Spell Ruler again, this time OCG DPK cards. Do they exist? I can't find info on them anywhere except janime mentions the Japanese Blockman, but they could also be mistaken and we have no DPK Japanese images. --Deltaneos 14:05, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

uhm..[edit]

Mirror Force in the state of arizona is known as jihad

Leichter's Name[edit]

In the Big 5 article, I changed "Lector's" name to the official spelling, Leichter, but you changed it back. Did it state elsewhere how it was spelled?

Reprinted Magic cards + Additional search bars?[edit]

  • Are Magic Cards that were reprinted as Spell Cards, but kept their text to be listed as erratas? --Deltaneos 22:19, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Why do we have two more search bars at the bottom of the Card Article Creators? they don't seem any different than the standard one. Is it okay if I remove them? --Deltaneos 23:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Parallel Rares + br[edit]

  • Are all Parallel Rares either Parallel Common, Super Parallel Rare or Ultra Parallel Rare? Essentially meaning PR shouldn't be used in image names? --Deltaneos 20:43, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Ok, what is the difference between using <br> and <br/>? --Deltaneos 01:15, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

IRC[edit]

* Do you know anything about IRC? Like...how to create it? -- Huajun Chen 01:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Scratch that, I created one. You mind if I create a new (temporary) page for it? -- Huajun Chen 02:13, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Oh, you're coy. XP -- Huajun Chen 14:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Sorry, but just one question. Would it be alright to include both English and Japanese versions of the anime cards on their pages? 'cause I don't like the idea of not using eighty-five images when they can be put into very good use. You can see Ra's Disciple for an example on how it would look. -- Huajun Chen 14:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Erratas between first and unlimited[edit]

  • Should we upload the first and unlimited edition images of the MRD-009 and MRD-E009 Harpie Lady Sisters, since they have an errata where Magic is changed to Spell, which isn't featured on any other versions of the card? Currently we have the first edition American and unlimited European, would leaving it that way be sufficiant because this way we get both texts?
Also could you also tell me what form of Parallel Rare the parallel the RB-09 is? --Deltaneos 17:46, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Ok I've kinda taken care of it now, but should the first and unlimited edition versions be in the Gallery (just in cases like this)? and could you correct the parallel as well? --Deltaneos 18:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

IRC[edit]

2007 Collectors Tin page is INCORRECT[edit]

They contain 1 Elemental Energy, 1 Power of the Duelist, 1 Cyberdark Impact, 1 Strike of Neos and 1 Force of the Breaker, not Cybernetic Revolution, Elemental Energy, Shadow of Infinity, Enemy of Justice and Power of the Duelist. Also, the 2nd Wave HAS been confirmed to contain Volcanic Doomfire, Rainbow Dragon and E-Hero Plasma Viceman.

Mind changing it? Thanks to you, no one else can.

Duel Summaries[edit]

  • The pages listed in duels are all eventually going to be covered in the episode sumaries. Is there any sense in keeping both? If we're to keep them to have summaries involving the interaction between the players and one to just explain the duel turn by turn, is it okay if we move the both summaries on the episode page? --Deltaneos 22:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Horakhti the Creator of Light[edit]

I hate to break it to you but I have the chapter where this card is summoned in the manga and the name is incorrect. The name in the english manga is The Creator God of Light Horakhty. Please change the name to reflect this as soon as possible. If you need proof I can upload the image from the manga. Big Boss 0 02:32, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Collapsible Boxes[edit]

  • Something's happened to the collapsible boxes, except those involving DNBs. All the show/hide functions are there twice now. See template:Yu-Gi-Oh! for example. Can you fix this? --Deltaneos 15:57, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Never mind its fine now. --Deltaneos 17:48, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Wiki Improvement Ideas[edit]

I added a section of ideas for improvement to the Main Page talk, I thought you might want to see them as you are the founder. Talk:Main Page#Wiki Improvement Ideas. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk|local) Sep 16, 2007 @ 03:00 (UTC)

A category based search isn't something anything we've got is really capable of. But categorization of things is good to help people find things. You can actually do some things with the syntax of templates used to automatically add certain categories. Also, Wikia has the new version of DPL installed. So if you do categorize things and use templates which use parameters in certain formats it's actually possible to use DPL to dynamically generate a list of cards and also display a short summary of that information inside of that table list.
It's not out yet, but a little something that may interest you is that once the new version is released Wikia intends to install Semantic MediaWiki around Wikia. SMW has some very interesting features. It would be possible to tag the card articles with attributes like Dark, Spell, etc... and that would actually have some interesting results. If you look at this you'll see the box at the bottom of the page. That's created because of the use of things like Name:=Centiare inside the article. That doubles for link creation, and also adds that data to the article as an attribute. This data is shown in a box at the bottom of the page, can be accessed through an RDF page (Giving the site an instant API to grab card data from the attributes), and is also browseable. Someone can jump around the various Dark/Light/etc... cards, list them, and even cross them with other attributes. ie: List all cards which have a Dark Attribute, are of the Spellcaster type, and have an Effect. It's also much more stable for creating those lists I mentioned you could do with DPL because we're not messing with Template params. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 17, 2007 @ 20:09 (UTC)
How do you want me to include in the Show/Hide Scripts? I use a nice technique in Wikia ACG which lets me keep the JS on separate pages, but still loads it all from one page meaning that there's less pages for the browser to load. But that only works when you're referencing JS/CSS from another page like how in Wikia ACG all the wiki reference a shared set of JS/CSS. I could get the Show/Hide here in one of 3 ways:
  • Copy over the Show/Hide script right into the Common.js; But that's not in a location you can easily reference for other use.
  • Copy Show/Hide to a Page here and reference it from Common, or just reference the one Wikia ACG uses; But that means you're loading it just as an extra script.
  • Include in Wikia ACG's Global JS/CSS since it has a fully working Show/Hide as well as a number of other useful JS and CSS things inside of it.
~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 17, 2007 @ 22:59 (UTC)
Most likely you're copying the wrong scripts to include the global stuff. Wikia ACG's shared stuff is located at [[Anime:Anime:Monobook:Anime-Common.js, Anime:MediaWiki:Anime-Common.css, and Anime:MediaWiki:Anime-Monobook.css. You probably copied the code from the Animepedia, which was the wrong one to copy from. The mid-level and lower-level wiki are the ones which have the code to reference the stuff. But don't worry I know what will work.
So you like the Wikia ACG system!? I should actually show you the stuff in the project, the project does have the shared CSS/JS, but there are also some other things. Mainly pages which are synced across the entire project. In simple terms, shared Templates. ^_^ heh... compared to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki, consider the project underdeveloped in Users and Content, but overdeveloped in Template, CSS, and JS Quality. I actually didn't consider talking to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki about joining the project until after it grew to a good large size. But I could always compare the wiki's stuff with the stuff in the project to see if there are any technical issues. And discuss it with the community. Right now the project has more Technical things like Templates, CSS, JS, and Bots than it has policies. Which is kinda what the wiki looks like it needs... So against what I thought, joining now might actually fit. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 18, 2007 @ 08:23 (UTC)

Don't kill me for this[edit]

  • I was going through the Anime & Manga Appearances Images the other day, and I realized a lot of the Japanese anime card pictures look *exactly* the same as their OCG counterparts. Exactly, as in card name, card picture, card stats (if its a monster card), the position of the lore on the card, the actual lore of the card, and whatnot. Look at this:

File:CardDestructionSD8-JP-C.jpg File:CardDestruction-JP-Anime.jpg

Is there *any* differences at all? (Ignoring the little square mark on the corner, yeah, big deal.) So, I'm going to delete the ones that are mirror replicas, because my logic is Anime pics = have to be different from their OCG/TCG counterparts. Luckily, most of the pics from DM is automatically exempt from this genocide, as well as the manga card images, English images, and images that portray the holographic monster and not just the card. But a lot of the GX cards especially for second and third season have little reason to be there. Furthermore, if we do weed out the useless pictures, it will bring more attention and emphasize the images that we *do* have (which will either have different card images, or lore). So...yeah. You have about two hours to support or reject my proposition. -- Huajun Chen 18:49, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

  • After that, I'll make galleries. Just to show that I actually don't want to completely screw the website. -- Huajun Chen 18:49, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Redirecting Alternate Spellings[edit]

Tsukuyomi / Luna[edit]

I was searching for a card I have "Luna", because I do not fully understand its effect. I does not appear on the database but after typing in serial of my card (SD6-EN011) I discovered that it links to Tsukuyomi. They are identical cards apart for my one is titled "Luna" and the Card Lore is "This card cannot be specially summoned. At the final stage of common summon and flip bout the card returns back to the cards in the hand of the holder. When the card is common and flip summoned, a monster indicated in the side table shall turn it to be a fielding indicator".

Last sentace doesn't really make sense to me, but the point is...shouldn't this card be added? Or the entry updated? As at the moment it does not exist

Thanks ~Ace

  • Tsukuyomi is the "Goddess of the Moon". I shouldn't have to add that "Luna" is derived from the latin for "Moon". Your card is a fake, basically. --TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 00:31, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Concern[edit]

My main concern is that we would be giving up our power to join with the other wikia. Not to mention the fact that I feel that we are doing rather well on our own. That is something that I wouldn't want to happen. Big Boss 0 21:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Gaia The Fierce Knight/Gaia the Fierce Knight[edit]

Character naming[edit]

  • First off, archive. Ok Characters pages are named based on the character's first appearance in the English anime or manga. But cards that were originally anime or manga only and have been released since and have had their name changed use their most recent name. Shouldn't this hold for the characters too? -- Deltaneos 13:45, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Other language galleries + Changes to card tables[edit]

  • I've put the collapsibles into a card table template now. One template instead four. We can get around to adding more languages and adding them to the other templates. -- Deltaneos 10:38, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Ok I've merged all OCG and TCG tables, see here. And here's a few examples of it being used. I've also changed a few of the parameters. Example, simply use attribute = Dark, instead of attribute = Dark . it's a lot more flexible this way, if we want to add categories for example. only problem is linking to Summoning Conditions. I've also dropped the fusionmaterial and ritualcard parameters. -- Deltaneos 15:30, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Ok I've Summoning Conditions fixed, but it only works if you enter Summon for effect1. I didn't make the changes for effect2, 3 or 4. -- Deltaneos 15:53, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I've overwritten Dantman's template and put it into use in a few pages. It works for anime, manga and video game cards as well now. Should we have seperate general templates for the DDM and Bandai and Misc tables or should we try cram everything into the one template? -- Deltaneos 17:51, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Redirect categories[edit]

Translated v Phonetic + Merging templates[edit]

Is Walkure Dritte, the translated or phonetic name for Valkyrie Dritte? I don't see how it could be the English translation, since it's German. -- Deltaneos 15:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Ok, all similar templates are getting merged. I've joined the Card Navigation templates (apart from the ones with 2 at the end of their name), Template:Navigation. It uses the same name parameter, only difference is it's one template instead of six. I guess the errata tables are next. -- Deltaneos 10:24, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I reccomend deleting his user and talk pages and that he be blocked. He also impersonated you by signing your name with each attack. Check his contributions for evidince. What did you think of my vandalism cleanup? Would you tell me please? Big Boss 0 02:43, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Redirected templates[edit]

Can we keep E-Hero, D-Hero etc. embedded instead of Hero, in case we ever decide the split the template back to seperate ones for Elemental Heroes and Destiny Heroes, so we don't have to go back through all the pages the use Hero? -- Deltaneos 15:15, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

jpg → png (long pages)[edit]

The png files are coming up to five times the size as the jpegs. Now look at Set Gallery:Expert Edition Volume.4 (OCG), which is using .jpg extensions, it's 42 kb long and some browsers have problems displaying pages close to 32 kb. This is going to be much worse if the page uses pngs. Split the page maybe? Or use jpg images to a tolerable degree for long pages? Anyway speaking of long pages, this page is 37 kb long. -- Deltaneos 13:30, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

What is going on? Why did you delete my and Big Boss 0's pages.

Could you hurry up and answer me. Respond on my talk page please.

In idiot terms please. I did not understand a single thing you just said. And on the admin issue he wants to stop Nightmare so bad he would resort to any means to do it. He's not one to abuse power. And I am still kinda new at this so could you help me.

General Wiki Guidelines[edit]

Here's some of that information on what guidelines wiki generally follow that you wanted.

  • First one is Dissuade Interaction. Angela uses it alot when someone comes up with something that would do more harm than good as it and the pages it links to explain.
  • The big classic one is Assume good faith, which we follow on Wikia but don't appear to have a version of here.
  • This essay is another one which Angela quotes a lot Staying cool when the editing gets hot.
  • Another good one is Civility.
  • No personal attacks.
  • Avoid personal remarks.
  • On the more Wikia end we have Blocking, which does there state that it's a good idea to warn someone before blocking them. And also going along with Assume good faith it's better to give someone a warning after what appears to be vandalism. And block them if they continue after that. Instead of blocking someone simply because their only edit is what looks like vandalism.

Generally a lot of the stuff that Wikia follows without explicitly saying is stuff dealing with Civility, Netetiquette , and things which have over time proven themselves to be the best methods for getting the most positive outcome from a wiki. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Nov 20, 2007 @ 03:13 (UTC)

Categories for non-OCG/TCG cards[edit]

Currently Anime/manga/video game only, Bandai, DDM and the GameBoy Duel Monsters Promos: Series 1 cards (anything that uses |class = ) are exculded from the Categories Normal Monsters, Effect Monsters Ritual Monsters, Spell Cards, Trap Cards. But the new categories Spirit, Yokai, ATK, Level etc. include them. For consistancy the said monsters should go in all these categories (where possible) or none. Which way should we go? -- Deltaneos 12:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

4KIDS DUB NAMES[edit]

Why do we use the 4kids dub names of the characters? Don't you know 4kids ruined Yu-Gi-Oh and they are ruining Yu-Gi-Oh GX, so vengefully WE should not acknowledge 4kids. I know you might not care but information about Sailor Moon uses the Japanese names for the protagonists and the antagonists and they don't acknowledge DiC the company that ruined Sailor Moon and the Sailor Moon Wikia does not acknowledge DiC. So may you please stop giving 4kids credit. Thanks -- Johanking

DeletedContributions Hack[edit]

I included the JS from Wikia ACG for it to work. I've made that DeletedContributions tab hack a global Wikia ACG thing now. Unless something got messed up, a tab should be showing up on all Contributions and DeletedContributions pages to help switch between the two. Though I used the Portlet System, so for now it will be a MonoBook only thing until I expand that system to also include Quartz. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Nov 26, 2007 @ 04:27 (UTC)

Spell Ruler again again again again again again again[edit]

I really, really want to put all the MRL and SRL cards on the one page. I'm telling you the set got renamed. It wasn't released again with a different name, it actually got renamed. MRL covered the European and North American set numbers. While SRL covered the Worldwide numbers. European cards got printed in packs labeled Spell Ruler and numbered MRL-E000. I've seen them. Look here's an image of a Spell Ruler labeled for Europe. And I think we agreed SRL-E doesn't exist, hence the contents must have been MRL-E. C'mon please can we merge and leave the OCG MR on the Magic Ruler page. -- Deltaneos 18:37, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

North American-English[edit]

Regarding this edit. Although Europe got those cards, it still says For U.S. & Canada on the box, for sets got in Europe. Europe even got the LOB-XXX, MRD-XXX and MRL-XXX in the Booster Pack Tins. (I think they were also sold seperatly) SDY-XXX and SDK-XXX were also sold in Europe. I remember being puzzled by why 1 Deck had 46 and the other had 50 cards. And most Boosters up to AST didn't have the E in their set numbers until later reprints, so Europe seems to have gotton all North American-English Boosters and Decks. That eliminates the need for {} in most card articles, unless we split them by the language id. -- Deltaneos 18:08, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

YuGiOh-Bot supporting YCM[edit]

As it is using our search bar, the YuGiOh-Bot can pull pages from other Wikis. eg. !card w:c:ycm:cardname will give the link to a page on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker Wiki. But it doesn't print off any of the stats. Subrosian says he can alter the bot so it will also be able to print of their statistics. Right, so with your request and if we think it would be worth while, it would take him about 6 hours to add this feature. ...So is it worthwhile? -- Deltaneos 21:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikia ACG Joining[edit]

Hey TwoTailedFox, I probably should have told you but... Sannse says "it's up to you and the administrators of the wiki, if you think you've gotten enough support from the community then it's ok." in other words... If you think the current support is good, then put some sort of message saying the wiki will go through with it on the Community Portal.

Just an unfortunate note though, pywikipediabot looks broken for Wikia, at least for me... So I don't know if I'm going to be able to do template syncing right now. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Jan 29, 2008 @ 08:39 (UTC)

I've added styling to the Monobook.css page. To avoid objections on a color scheme, I used the generic white that AliceSoft uses. But I can give it a nice custom color scheme if you want. I need the basic css here though because some Wikia ACG stuff like the portlet system uses css which depends on this. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 3, 2008 @ 00:03 (UTC)

Duel Terminal[edit]

I saw the Duel Terminal page you made, and I'm pretty certain you got the info from the blog by the Japanese guy who went to the Konami press release, or Hiro's Page (pretty much the same though, since Hiro's original source is the blog mentioned.)

However, there are rumors that the info is false/uncertain. "How can a high schooler attend a press release aimed at retailers?" (blog profile, which was changed after the blog entry), "Would Konami allow cameras into a retailer-only press release?" (rumors of the Burst Stream card image being photo-manipulated) and "Why would the blogger delete the entry?" (he deleted it today for no reason).

I think it'll be best to put the page on hold for now, especially since no official sources for it is out yet. --Pizzaman 02:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I read your reply. I don't read a lot of English pages, so I didn't expect the news to travel so quickly. Guess it's only a matter of time, since the official info will probably be V Jump next month. --Pizzaman 02:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Rarities[edit]

Just to be clear TwoTailedFox I didn't assign the rarities of those cards which you will see if you look at the page history. 95% of what I've been doing is downloading the file cleaning it up if it needs it and reuploading the file using the Upload new version link and making no changes to the destination file. The only exceptions to that was to change JP to EN on the cards page and see if it links to an existing english scan rather than the Japanese scan. I know the rarities. There was one exception to that and that was rainbow dragon, Ijust like the other one better. If you disagree change it back. No biggie in my book. Glittersword 16:24, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok, just for the sake of peace i'll say I made a mistake. (Although I can not tell myself since my name no longer appears in the history or Image upload list fore the picture in question. I will try to spot those problems in the future. Just, PLEASE don't come down on me like a ton of bricks for a mistake that is so easy to miss. Shadowpriestess+Zombie Master/Lonefire+Gigaplant loop[edit]

I see that you deleted the tips page regarding these loops involving "once per turn" effects. It's possible to use "once per turn" effects more than once during a turn if they are sent to the grave and special summoned back to the field during the same turn, since technically it's "new" on the field. The same reason why a monster which suicides and revives with Call of the Haunted during the battle phase can attack again. Of course, the exception of this is Twin-Headed Behemoth, which is a once per duel effect. --Pizzaman 05:28, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

2nd YGO movie[edit]

  • I've asked around about this. While there's abundant information about 5D's that informs us that this is real, there's virtually nothing about "Gekjiko-ban", which has been a rumor since 2006. As I said, Gekjiko is not properly romanized, either (it's probably meant to be "Gekijou" which means movie). We're getting mocked for having this on the Wikia. Until something comes out that proves it's real, it should probably just be removed. Danny Lilithborne 17:36, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Marie the Fallen One[edit]

It doesn't hurt much, but the tip isn't much of a combo, as neither effect depends on the other. But more importantly: I was looking for real combos with Marie, there must be some (or at least one) card, which triggers whenever you gain LPs. Any idea? --Pjacobi 19:34, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

  • The "Future Vision" used in the episode is not the same one that Saiou uses. This one is a Trap Card with an unknown effect thus far. It's also spelled with furigana/kanji (the furigana translates to "Future Vision") whereas the Spell Card is "Mirai no Vision" AFAIK. :) Danny Lilithborne 16:51, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Nah, "Future Vision" is the name the English anime used. I was in error about the Japanese translation, which is actually "Raise no Vision". But the card Jaden uses has kanji and furigana which translates to the English words "Future Vision". Danny Lilithborne 03:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Here's a link to a clearer shot of the card. The furigana is フューチャーヴィジェン (fyuuchaavijen) - the latter is not the usual way of writing "Vision", but it sounds more similar to the English pronunciation, and comes out as "Future Vision". Danny Lilithborne 04:11, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

  • Thanks for fixing the errors on the skilled magicians. When I make edits what should I add (ex. Attribute|Dark or something like that). Dmaster (Contribs Count) 23:36, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Verifying Rules[edit]

Well one of the best ways I guess we have to verify the rulings would probably be through the video games released by Konami. Seeing as how those games play by the rules Konami set forth, that would be the closest thing to official rulings as I can think of without them posting it on a website. I have World Championship 2008 for DS, If anything verifications can be made using an official Konami source such as that. I don't have Cap.Gold in the game just yet but its an idea for verifying this and other similar situations ^_^ Thanks for hearing me out atleast lol Cybermewtwo 01:39, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Duel Terminal[edit]

Mizumaru pointed out that the Duel Terminal cards are all TPR, so we don't need two galleries. Rodtheanimegod4ever 16:10, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I think you misunderstood Shriek. Here's the exact quote:
"All cards are parallel rare but in addition share their rarities as well.
Emphasis mine. Rodtheanimegod4ever 19:46, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Because they have the parallel pattern and the characteristics of the other rarities.Rodtheanimegod4ever 22:48, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Bandai Level 7[edit]

The level 7 monsters of the Bandai Series appears to be level 8 on their page. But if you look the code it is written "|level = 7".

Watch Tranquilizer[edit]

I created a Trivia for this card but when I click on "Trivia" on this page I'm redirected to "Editing Trivia". I think there's a problem... Yamimillenium 21:57, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

1 Card, 2 Names?[edit]

Exist a card with two different names? I have two copies of Acceleratore Fiammata/Blaze Accelerator but one of them is called "Cannone Fiammata". The "Cannone Fiammata" card was pulled out today and is a 1st edition, but FOTB was released one year ago! It's an error or the card was renamed? --Rein Weiss Ritter 18:55, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Agents[edit]

I don't know the history about these guy's but there back User:Agent Brown 88. Dmaster (Contribs Count) 19:43, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Vampire[edit]

  • Could you semi-protect this page? An anonymous user keeps adding multiple copies of the same cards and Zombie Werewolf (which is not a vampire, just Camula uses it) to the list. Danny Lilithborne 10:43, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Lores[edit]

I've just noticed a few days ago that we can add the japanese lore of a card to each article, and I was planning to add the lores of Manga-only cards first, and then follow with TCG/OCG cards. The japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki can provide the lore for all official OCG cards, but without ruby text. Adding the ruby text to all card lores might take some time, but I'll see what can I do.
--Van Ludwig 18:50, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

God Neos[edit]

  • The page is fully protected. Do you think you could change that to semi-protection? If not, at least fix the "Elemental Hero" and "Destiny Hero" piping. Thanks! ^_^ Danny Lilithborne 12:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Names[edit]

Are you talking about a column for the actual Japanese (writing) name? If so, can you lead me in the right direction to achieve that? Thanks for all you do and all of your help.

Japanese Names[edit]

Okay, added Japanese names to The New Ruler, but alot of them showed up red?? Can you tell me why?

Possible way to search better[edit]

As I was trying to build a deck today, a classic billy deck, I was using the categories to look for cards. I found that I couldn't really search for cards with specific criteria. For instance, I wish I could click on Light monsters, and then go the Light monsters that were spellcasters, and then of those which ones had 4 stars.

I guess what I'm saying is that there should be a way to go to a "search engine" type category which takes you to a master list of categories (with a focus on the monsters) After which you should be able to click on any of the categories which would bring you to a new page that showed you a more narrow list of categories that applies to the category the user clicked on.

So if you clicked Level 4 monsters, you would then have a screen that had a list of categories for all level 4 monsters. Then you could click 1600 atk. So now you would have a list of categories that applied for all monsters that were level 4 with 1600 atk. It would be important for each page of categories as you go through this "search" process to have the option to "show all cards applicable" (as a category). This would be important because if my current level of searching is as specific as I wanted to get, I could stop there and see all of the cards that applied.

I think that this could be a VERY useful tool for this site that would bring a lot attention to it. I'm not really sure how to work this out. I'm still learning how to edit wikia type cites. Maybe if you could give me some pointers and a direction to go, I could try to see what I could do. But I do think that this should be seriously looked at as this would be VERY beneficial. While I was away[edit]

I'm finally back now, so happy late St. Patrick's Day, Easter and so on. Looks like you beat me to the SDRL-EN010 image :). Just a few Qs.

  1. Why are the episode pages dropping the episode name from their page name? eg. Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 001 - The Heart of the Cards -> Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 001? Not that I'm against it. It could be a lot more flexible this new way.
  2. Are you as annoyed about Jaden duelling and problably beating or tieing with Yugi as I am?
  3. You've started a new blog in your userspace. Is the old one being ditched?
  4. Have I missed much else?

-- Deltaneos 11:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi TwoTailedFox[edit]

Long time no see.TTF,I want your opinion.I added the half duel between Yugi and Jaden in the Episodes 179-180 of Yu-Gi-Oh!GX.Is that ok?--Dimitri-King of the Copycats 14:35, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Ruby Text[edit]

I have the "Advent of Union" card list ready to upload, except for the Japanese Names. I have the Japanese names of all cards, but not sure how to do the ruby text (as you showed me needed to be done). Can you give me some direction on where to go to learn to do this? Other than that, "Advent of Union" is ready to go.

Donna

Image[edit]

So I can see that we can't have any "personal images" on this yugioh wikia. To what extent is a picture considered "personal". I assumed that we couldn't upload images for personal use untill I came upon a different user's site which had cards that were made up with images of the cards that were not by any means real yu gi oh cards, nor cards that will come out. So... ... ...what are the rules on uploading images? Ticoryne 21:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

  • What is a Photobucket link?Ticoryne 21:30, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

.

  • So I want to be an active supporting part of this site and part of my being able to do that is knowing the rules of this website. I have had my wikia changed by an admin at least 3 times which I don't have a problem with; however, it would be nice to have a set of rules so that I know what guidelines to follow.Ticoryne 03:18, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I found that[edit]

I found that and I don't know if it will be interesting to upload them : http://i15.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/e3/ab/a730_1.JPG http://i13.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/e3/ab/98d1_1.JPG Yamimillenium 21:55, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Dunames Dark Witch[edit]

I found a bigger version of the OCG G3 of this card and I thought it will be interesting to upload it, because it will be easier to see the difference with the TCG verison. (A very big boobs... Huh... image ^^) I tried tu "upload a new version of this file" but it didn't work. Yamimillenium 21:55, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Extra namespaces[edit]

Portal, Card Lores, Card Artworks, and Card Names done. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 03:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, they are included in stats. There are 55 pages (db sense pages, not mw-stats pages) in those NS. You may easily overlook them in stats but rest assured they are in wgContentNamespaces. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 22:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Gold[edit]

Why are you removing all the gold series cards? Rodtheanimegod4ever 01:00, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Joke cards[edit]

I'd honestly say keeping them is a bad idea. At least give them their own category so they're not in with actual cards. Better yet, why not relocate them to your user page? "User:TwoTailedFox/Ultimate Blade Rain" for instance. Rodtheanimegod4ever 13:14, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Okay, there's a category. So could you remove the other categories so no one gets confused while browsing, please? ("Hoax" would be the only category; is there a way to do that without removing the table?) Rodtheanimegod4ever 13:28, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

It seems that you're the only one that can edit this page, can you add in the set descritpion that the BEUD of this pack has 3000 DEF ?

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's[edit]

Hey, I'm LDEJRuff, and I'm a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and now a fan of the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series to be broadcast in High-Definition: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. The new series has already aired in Japan last Wednesday, but I'm concerned that this Wiki's article on the new series is still locked. I was wondering when said article would be unlocked, so that people will say that this new series is airing in High-Definition. Just asking.
Oh, and I'm a fan of Miles "Tails" Prower since I couldn't help but notice your username.
~~LDEJRuff~~ (talk) 13:10, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

Dude, seriously[edit]

  • Archive this freakin' page already. Jeez, do we have to remind you every time the page passes the 77 KB mark?
  • Can you read Japanese? [yugioh-wiki.net This site] has an amazing amount of information, a lot of taken directly from Konomi. Only problem is it's in...Japanese. -- Huajun Chen 21:09, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Episode Navigation[edit]

I don't find the episode navigation templates as unnecessary as you do, since I haven't found links to other episodes in episode articles, and this is a quick way to allow for editing in case someone makes an article for an episode we don't have yet.

For example, not only does Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's have a lot of episodes yet to be released, but some of the episodes that have been released do not yet have articles. So just you wait and see how much more credit this template deserves than you're giving it, OK?

Something Wrong[edit]

was there something wrong with the images i put on their? Yu-Card

  • mine are the same size as all the other card images.

Image Format[edit]

So have we switched yet again to a new naming format? Including 1E? Does that mean you want UNL, LE etc? --Pcouw 16:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

So what is the guidelines for images now? Is there a size limit.. your SDDE images are > 1.5M big... a little tough to swallow for anyone using dialup don't you think? I am currently scanning the SDDE cards to add them to my image pool at 400x580 600dpi png... they are roughly 500k images... do you want these uploaded to keep in step with previous images I've uploaded or is size the biggest factor in images? --Pcouw 16:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

If you run it through PS CS3 it is reduced due to better compression I assume... --Pcouw 17:10, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

So why is the Grandmaster of the Six Samurai GLD1 image I uploaded 660k versus your Karma Cut at 1.33M? --Pcouw 17:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Is the top of your SDDE images cut off? What is the black line? --Pcouw 17:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

  • My images are 400x580 and .jpg and i was the first to change the new SDDE card images and my images look very good. Yu-Card

hey i got 2 different pics of Clayman's mistake, if 1 is named ElementalHeroClayman-EN-Anime-Mistake.jpg and i wanna upload the other one, then, how i should name it, have I to add "2" in the name or what I do?

Anime Mistakes in "Other card information"[edit]

hey, there's no way to add a link named "Anime Mistakes" where are the categories, i mean in the box where are the links in every card (The box with: Card gallery, anime and manga appearances, card trivia, card errata, rulings, tips, and all those things)?Porygon2z 00:55, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Skyscraper Rullings[edit]

I play with an Elemental Hero Deck, but I do not understand the Rules for Skyscraper. When the E-Hero monster attacks and it has a lower attack than the attack target(in attack position)does the E-Hero get destroyed? And does the attack target get destroyed?

Skyscraper Rullings 2[edit]

But does my E-Hero get destroyed?!

Levia Dragon[edit]

I see now that you can't use it for Levia-Dragon but it appears that you can still tribute Maiden of Aqua for Ocean Dragon Lord Neo-Daedalus' effect ~~Chokehold~~

Just one more question about Skyscraper[edit]

  • Does my Skyscraper increase the attack of my E-Heroes on my opponents turn?
  • Answer now!
  • But,does my E-Hero get the ATK boost on my opponents turn?
  • Hello is anyone there?

New Namespaces[edit]

Heya! Thanks for leaving that message on my talk page. I was looking at the pages currently in those namespaces, and it looks like it would be trivial for me to use a bot to move those pages temporarily, create the namespace, then move them back. Is there any reason that you feel that wouldn't work? If that is acceptable, I should be able to get it done pretty quickly. --KyleH<staff /> (talk) 16:19, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
