A Quick Question

Since you seem to be the guy to go to and I am relatively new here I thought who better to ask a question of. On the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 page it states that some of the cards are confirmed anime only cards, yet some of them are clearly released now. Would we leave the cards as if they were not released because they were not at the time? Or rather should we remove them from the list as they are no longer anime only cards? Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga card images

Heya, I've got a few GX manga card images to upload. But I've noticed a few diffrences between Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX images:

• The card names, Level Stars, ATK and DEF are all smaller on the GX ones.
• Below the card names on Spell Cards in Duelist, they use [Spell Card], in GX they use (Spell Card). Same with Traps.
• ATK and DEF are formatted ATK / 2000 in Duelist and ATK 2000' in GX.

Is it worth sticking -GX at the end of the filenames, before I upload them? -- Deltaneos 09:48, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

The Beginning of the End

Then why is the cost and effect in the same sentence. If it was just 'Remove 5 DARK monsters out of play. Then, draw 3 cards.', you would be right, but since there is no full stop between them, it is the cost and effect.

Battle Phase

• In the Battle Phase when you attack a monster do you calculate damage first,or does the monster get destroyed first?

• I understand.But,a person keeps bugging me about Skyscraper and I showed him the Battle Phase Breakdown.He said that my monster gets destroyed and his monster doesn't.He

says that it's because of Skyscraper's text.It says Damage Calculation Only.Battle Phase Breakdown says:Sub Step:Damage Calculation,Sub Step:Monster gets destroyed.Does this mean that my opponent's monster doesn't get destroyed?Please explain if you understand what I mean.

Hi,

I noticed you undid my token images with the comment "We don't want these images."

1) Who is "we"? I thought this was a wiki. A community where everyone gets to improve things. Is this not the case? If so, I can certainly leave things alone and not contribute.

2) Secondly, it bothers me that the token images that are included are in clear violation of copyright laws. Especially, given the fact that they include a false copyright law on the bottom of the card. My images are original, uncopyrighted and free for everyone to use.

Call of the Earthbound and Zoma the Spirit's rulings

"Call of the Earthbound" is called "Earthbound Spirit's Invitation" in its rulings and is listed in the Es on the ude website. Pretty odd. Obvously we'll still record them in Card Rulings:Call of the Earthbound', but should we correct the names? ie leave it as

"Earthbound Spirit's Invitation" does not target

or change it to

"Call of the Earthbound's Invitation" does not target?

Macro Cosmos/Dimensional Fissure vs. Necro Valley

Okay, so I've had this long standing debate with a friend of mine who runs a Gravekeeper's Deck. Personally, a very good and flexible deck in my view, but he challenges my Removal Deck by saying that Macro Cosmos or Dimensional Fissure won't effect the way Necro Valley works. My issue is that in Macro Cosmos's card text it states that when a monster is sent to the Graveyard, instead it is sent directly to the Remove from Play pile. My friend contests that the effect is negated, but when I read Necro Valley it states nothing about negating the effect of something that doesn't even hit the graveyard, but is instead removed.

Please help me figure this one out by telling me what the truth behind this match up is.

TwoTailedFox...why do you keep undoing any changes I make to cards? You've changed the image for Dragon Lady, deleted the Trivia I wrote, and changed the effect for Flying Dragon Whirl taht I edited to fit in with current TCG Lores and thus be easier to understand. I'm not accusing anyone - I know you are a smart individual and will have good reasons for all this - but I'd like to know, since it's frustrating to have everything deleted.

Elemental Hero God Neos

As you may have notes I have been creating (or Improving) the Card Search Categories area of the card pages. Here my problem the Elemental Hero God Neos page has been locked from editing so I can't do that one. So I ask if you can unlock the page so I can do that area. Speed World - Issues Concerning Effect Damage

Is there any proof that Effect Damage doesn't decrease the SPC of a player? We all know that when Battle Damage is taken, SPC is reduced by invervals of 1000, rounded down. However, what about Effect Damage? Here's the bare evidence:

• Episode 3: Tetsu Ushio uses Speed Spell - Sonic Buster, selecting Goyou Guardian as a target and burning 1400 Life Points from Yusei Fudo. Yusei's SPC does not decrease because he does not have any SPC at all at the moment.
• Episode 8: Mukuro Enjo uses 3 Burning Skull Head to inflict 1000 points of effect damage to Jack Atlus 3 times. However, even under Speed World, the increment of SPC on either player's Standby Phase was not displayed (Speed Spells were irrelevant to that Riding Duel), and when Red Dragon Archfiend attacked Mukuro Enjo directly, SPC was not shown deducted from his counters.

All in all, both examples prove that Effect Damage can play a role in decreasing Speed Counters. In Ushio's case, there were no Speed Counters on his opponent to decrease. In Mukuro Enjo's case, the concepts of Speed Counters weren't shown in that duel as a whole because no Speed Spells were used. Only in the future, when a Riding Duel with clear proof of burn occurs, can we know if Effect Damage plays a role in decreasing Speed Counters.

Inconsistency in Booster Pack Pages

I am planning to create the set card list page for some booster pack. But then I saw that in some pages like in LOB to GLAS that there are card spoiler list there already while in PTDN and LODT there is a set card list page. I'm just confused whether it is still relevant to make those pages. Also, it concerns me that the layuot of the pages about booster packs are not consistent. (e.g. in DP04, and DP05 there is no page for card ratios, some page have no set card ratio page, while some especially those earlier packs have dead links). Dark Pride 09:50, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Any Ideas for the FEATURED CARD of July 2008?

I'm not gonna let Dark Armed Dragon stay as the featured card for three months like Dark Magician Girl was. If anybody has any ideas, let me know. In my opinion, Judgment Dragon seems like a worthy card. After all, the Lightsworns are the counters of Dark Armed Dragon decks. I'm pretty good at supplying the facts of the featured cards, but not good at making it user-friendly. In other words, comparing Dark Magician Girl to the anime and Skelengel to Valentine's Day. If anybody can help me on that part, like "The almighty judgment day has come to settle the defeat of your opponent" and "they will be tested by the almighty dragon if they are worthy for one more turn" or something like that, I'll be grateful.

Changes to Searching

Are we still using card searchers that only search one type of card (ex. Neo Space Pathfinder, Destroyersaurus, Elemental Hero Captain Gold, ect.) or are we doing this for all searcher cards and if so should i go back a delete all searcher cards from all the cards i've done so far? Geminis

Can you glance at the rulings forum and look over my post?

The idea is that when you resummon a Gemini its in the same set of situations as being removed from the field, almost as if for half a second the monster returns to your hand and is summoned again, therefore meaning that any effects targetting that monster before the summon have lost their target and are then null. . . Most importantly is the effect of Swing of Memories

This makes a bit of confusion when it comes to equip cards, I'm not sure if the equip card would remain attached if what I'm saying is true, if the equip card is linked specifically to the monster, or if its equipped to the monster card zone might be the part of the ruling that gets called into play. . .

Heal Wever

I know I'm not from an English speaking country, but I couldn't help but notice that this card's name is incorrect. I checked it up in a dictionary and saw that the verb "weave" (not weve) means to knit. So a weaver is a person who weaves or knits. Site Idea

Hello TwoTailedFox. I'm Chris427, one of this site's community members. I am a fairly common deck editor throughout this website. I have an idea and I hope you will read through my proposal. I've been thinking of ways to promote community deckmaking, and I decided that competitions (perhaps weekly) can be taken place in some area of the website. Here's how an example weekly deckmaking competition would work out. Every week there would be a theme that will be posted on the designated page. Entrants can then submit their deck ideas on a separate part of the page by the given deadline. Afterwards, I, along with a panel of judges, would critique each deck depending on a given criteria. The only thing is that there really isn't no prize - just an honor to have won a weekly competition. I was wondering if that would be enough motivation for people to join. Anyway, I thought I'd ask you since you are the administrator and probably would know how we could operate this program, and how to publicize it. • I understand. If it were to happen, a strict control policy is definitely needed. I entirely agree with that and administrators could watch over it as well in case there is even a hint of what can be dubbed "elitism." If you agree to it, may I, with all due respect, start this page with a few other people soon? In the case of any given problems, I will offer to shut it down myself. However, with the array of fine members we have in this Wikia, I think that trouble won't be much of an issue if this were to happen. Thank you very much for understanding.
  • As for the Yugioh Card Maker Wikia, I think I know what is the problem that may be stagnating its growth. The front page references to the forum: Yugioh Card Maker Forums. It is a forum that I am also involved in as a deckeditor and deckmaker. I'm not personally involved with creating new cards on that forum, but it seems to me that a significant percentage of people who want to make cards go there instead of here. When people are guided to Yugioh Card Maker Wiki, they see a link to the Yugioh Card Maker Forums I was talking about. Then they see sections for card making, and then are inserted into that community instead. I think this is one of the main reasons why it is not at the best it can be. (Plus the downright odd colors, no offense). Anyway, you probably have thought of this before, but I'm just observantly bringing it closer to the bright light. Hope that helps! Problem with English Red Dragon Archfiend Image

Hey, I have no idea whether or not this is a glitch of sorts, but the english Red Dragon Archfiend ScR Image I uploaded isn't visible to all who see it, except myself and 1 or 2 other wiki members. Instead, it's replaced with the Jap UR version of the image. Any idea on how to fix this?

Retro Pack card rarity inaccuracy

I have a problem

There's a very rude user on this Wikia. His name's Airblade86. He posted on my user page saying that I was a waste, but I deleted it from my page. His tone is really rude and I feel very offended, especially because I respect his duel terminal so much. I just feel that he's a dishonest person who doesn't play by his own rules and abuses his power over the duel terminal by censoring things. Why have you deleted my edit?

The Junk Warrior OTK deck is just as important as any other deck being used at the moment also even though people don't enjoy OTK's people still want to know what sort of OTK's they can make and not be affected by the current banned list. Quick Question

Are we planning on doing a large image name change any time to update older images to the new 1st Edition and Unlimited edition status? Ex: TheEndofAnubisAST-EN-ScR.jpg to TheEndofAnubisAST-EN-ScR-1E.jpg. Just wondering because I come to a standstill when I try to make galleries for older cards. Redirects

Hi! I'm responding to your comment on the Central mailing list about the new redirect system. I'll post it here just so other folks can follow the conversation if they want....

We use Redirects to bring up pages quickly, Cards have every Set Number they were released under redirect to the card itself, to assist with non-English card searches. I can type DB1-FR001 to automatically bring up the card that was released under that ID, without knowing it's English name.

The behaviour previously was that Double Redirects didn't go to the destination article, this allowed them to be fixed easier. Now, we have to wait for the Double Redirects Special Page to have its cache updated so we can see them. They can be edited manually, but this is a huge pain. -- User:TwoTailedFox

There's a couple possible solutions here. The one that I lean towards is to say that with the new redirect system, double redirects don't actually need to get fixed anymore. Double redirects still go to the correct page, so there's no urgency about fixing them -- the link brings you to the correct page, without giving you a broken redirect page.

I understand that you may still want to clean up double redirects, just for the sake of back-end tidiness... but that's not necessarily an immediate problem, because readers will always get to the correct page. So for me, I would think that it's okay just to check in with Special:Doubleredirects every once in a while and tidy up, without worrying about it too much.

But I may be misunderstanding the problem a little -- let me know if there's something about the situation that I'm missing.

If the new redirects really bother you, then it's possible to turn them off for this wiki. That just means that you won't get the search engine benefits, and the wiki may not show up as high in Google as it otherwise would. If the redirects matter more to you than the search engine benefit, just let me know; this would only take a second to turn off. -- Danny (talk) 17:23, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Please help with the YVD

If anyone knows, how to make the YVD (Yugioh Virtual Desktop) work, please write it! My problem is: when i'm start connecting to my opponent, or he tries to connect to me, after the "Connected" appears, we both not see the others cards, or the chat either. Yugioh 5D's Episode 28

You reversed my edit of removing someone's speculation about the number of dark signers and synchro monsters. I went and reversed it. There's nothing showing that what this person said is true in anyway. Furthermore he was wrong in his speculation in the first place. A spider's leg didn't disappear upon Dick's defeat but rather reappeared among two missing legs. The same number of spiders the hooded dark signer sent off in episode 27. Now its my speculation that the spiders attached to Dick and Ushio, thus explaining the two missing legs and that upon Ushio's defeat all the legs will reappear, but that is also speculation. • I was wondering about that myself. I guess its to try to keep with the regular cards that already exist, but I believe it is still going to be a Divine-Beast type. So I guess they are just doing it to make it like any other effect card so they wont have to worry about rewriting too many rules. Just a question I went and researched the early Asian-English sets and they don't have a language indicator like "LOB-GXXX", they just say "LOB-XXX" but with a Japanese card back. So my question their is how should we deal with putting them in the galleries or on the card's page. For the images I was thinking just using the English image in both the North American section and the Asian-English section of a card gallery. Or we can upload the same image as an -AE so their is no confusion. And the card pages are no trouble because the link would already like to the cards page. the new archetype box

is it really necessary to have the new archetype template? somehow they are quite big, and sometimes the cards will appear more than once (such as in Demonic Roaring Gods, grimro appear in both members and support. and the related cards are usually empty. somehow i think that the templates in "Category:Archetype Templates" are better... Featured Card

Hello TTF. I'd like some of your time, If you can spare some. You see, we have had the same Featured Card for too long now, and that stagnant state of the Main Page makes the wiki look dead, despite the opposite being true. So, to get to the point, I'd like to create a new Featured Card article, one featuring the recently TCG released "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness". Respecting the rules of the wikia, I intended to create a sub-page of my user page, where I would write the article until it was ready, at which time I would present it to you or one of the other admins, in order to either approve of it and use it, or dismiss it. However, while observing the page in Editing mode, in order to copy the Stardust Dragon Featured Card and make a similar one for Gorz, I could not detect it, but only a reference to a template. Using Firefox, I saw the root code of the page, and noticed that the information I sought was there, but in HTML code form, which I cannot use.

• My request, then, is that you assess my proposal and either:

1) Reject my proposal of trying to make a new Featured Card article, so that I can edit other pages that may require it, and not waste time, or

2) Accept it and present me with a suitable Template that I can use to make the article, or inform me on if and how I can help.

Although such a change would be a minor and superficial one, it would make the wiki seem "alive" again. This is a place of information, and seeing it die is the last thing that any of its users would want to see.

Trivia Dispute

I'm having a dispute with PoirotH over the trivia in Metalmorph , Rare Metalmorph and Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite. If you look and compare the cards you can see that Metalmorph and its counterpart are monsters metallized by Lunatite. A third opinion going either way would help.

Suggestion

Okay...below is a code that you could put into MediaWiki:Common.js where it will add an option to all users. There will be a check box on the REcent Changes page. If it is checked, the Recent Changes page would auto-refresh, which comes in handy for people who are surveying the page...especially admins who are watching for vandals and stuff like that. This is used on many other wikis and I'm suggesting it to you guys. Remember, because this code is entered into MediaWiki, it WILL be cached and therefore might take a few chache-refreshing...but it will appear. I'm admins at 6 other wikis including Wikianswers, it comes in handy! Here's the code:

Redirects

Quick Question. Why did you delete D-Cubic redirecting to D - Cubic? There's no reason for that redirect not to exist. The Japanese version used the first spelling, and I'd imagine it wouldn't occur to most users to insert the spaces, since it's generally not done that way in any other topic. Just a Suggestion (Don't know if it should go to you or not.)

I've noticed recently that we are beginning to get very good quality images on a lot of the pages. and Galleries. If we do have a great image already for a card is there any way for us to "Lock them in" and protect them. That way we are not overpopulating the New File list with cards that are just slightly better. If they have a dramatically better card it might be possible to send it to someone to be evaluated before changing it at that point. After all an Image of a card like Relinquished might be improved over the existing one if it was slightly larger and had a better contrast level in order to make all that fine print easier to read. In that case approve the new image and re lock it in.

Maybe we can also have 2 categories added "Needs a better Image" and "Image is Locked in" to tell someone it's current status. If either the 1st category is used or no category is selected it is deemed that the image has room for improvement and is treated as we do now.

Now I am not talking about locking the card page itself just the individual file that was uploaded. However if a card's page is as correct as can be in regards to the current templates and information then I think those pages need to be protected. and just have changes go for approval before being implemented. if a radical change of format is in the works then just remove the protection again until what is needed is completed. Maybe have a little memo section at the bottom telling people what needs to be done to the page.

I just think that the point has come to start narrowing the focus for what needs doing and guiding people to the proper areas and not wasting time messing with things that are effectively done.

Question about Spirit Caller

Hey there, my name's Oz and I was wondering do you play Spirit Caller? I can't find my question on these forums and it seems so insignificant but I can't find the answer to it.

There must be a quicker way to download groups of images.

I am trying to download the card images for a personal library. There must be a way to download the files in a bulk way. Either by having access to a certain directory or directory structure and just downloading from the proper path. Sort of like FTP. This going to the gallery level and downloading the images one by one is getting old FAST. Could you clue me in?

Card Galleries are Acting Weird

I've noticed this 'problem' for about a week now. The tcg set card galleries, and maybe the ocg set cardgalleries of the cards move around. That's queer. if you have Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor and Blackwing Armor Master in your graveyard can you use Vayu's ability to remove them both from play to special summon Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant because his requerments are 1 blackwing tuner and 2 non-tuner monsters but vayu negates the ability. So I tribute summoned my Jinzo, then proceeded to special summon Jinzo Lord; activated monster reborn for my newly destroyed Jinzo I now equiped Jinzo with Ampliflier. Can I play traps?

• Koryuseness (talk • contribs) (UTC): You can´t because of the effect of Jinzo - Lord that is alongside on the field. Read this description in Amplifier: "the equipped monster's effect does not negate the effects of its controller's Trap Cards...", it means that you will equip it to Jinzo to do that, but remember that Jinzo - Lord have a similar effect and is on the field too.

My main problem with the duels i play is kids using the newly released Dark Armed Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor. This message is open to any interpretation. First rule of my area's dueling style, forbidden and limited list is voluntary. Deck must Contain at least 40 cards. The best duelists around here use either Dragon decks, or zombie decks. Any stratagems you can offer would be very helpful.

Alternate Art Guidelines

Hi, I'm wondering what the basis is for posting alternate artworks for a card with video game artworks. Most of the cards with "alternate artwork" just look that way due to graphical limitations. Normally, when they're drawn in the same pose, you can tell it's supposed to be the original card.
