The Future of YuGiOh[edit]

  • (?_?) Lately I've been concerned about the future of the game. It now just seems like they're cranking out cheap cards to appeal to the new comers.

For me balance is an important issue. New cards can shift it greatly; even one.

  • May I ask what you mean by balance? Deck Balance? Dmaster (Contribs Count) 00:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
  • (?_?) Sorry I didn't quite see your question.

What I mean can be best said in this example:

So you want to build a unique deck with a new approach to winning. It won't be the best deck, but it will be fun to play with. After building your deck, you're ready to take on the world!

...But you don't always win, a lot. Your deck isn't flawed, it's just that the other decks are metagame-cookie cutters. Should originality be sacrificed for standing a chance in a duel? Wouldn't it be better if the booster packs didn't focus on one group leaving the others behind?

I am pretty serious when it comes to originality. I remember long ago (before Strike of Neos and beyond) my Spellcaster deck stood a good chance against my friends Warrior deck. With the Elemental Heroes, more Warrior support cards became available, and the gap between our decks became larger and larger.

On Metagame.com, Bryan Camareno explains exactly what I mean (see #10).

For cheap cards, I'll use my old timer voice:

"Back in my day, we didn't have no Dark Bribes. Ya had to have at least 2 cards if you wanted to stop any of them Spells and Traps there. Pay 1000 or ditch a card; that's the way ya had to go about it. Son, drawin' cards is nothin' when you need to flip, turn, switch the tables around. You kids here are gettin' it reeeaal easy now a days."

  • I ment as in ratios (2 monster per 1 spell per 1 trap, etc.) Anyway I'd like to see your opinion on my deck (Dragons of Darklight) and this. Dmaster (Contribs Count) 20:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
  • (?_?) Ohhhhh.... Well yes I do agree with the ratio. And for more advance decks, concideration should be taken into search, draw, etc. cards.

BTW, like your Heart of the Cards philosophy.

As for your deck, I like the idea. The problem is the complexity of getting Cyberdark Dragon equiped with Ultimate Dragon. My suggestion would generally be to give more strength to either Blue Eyes or Cyberdarks in the deck unfortunatlly. What you can do is:

  1. Find a way to get Ultimate Dragon (and/or Dragon Master Knight, Five-Headed Dragon) in your graveyard more easily. The only card I know that can do this is Fusion Guard. Once they're in the grave you can also reborn it via Monster Reborn, Re-Fusion, etc.
  2. You might be trying to do too many things (using the Cyberdarks, summoning Blue Eyes', summoning Shining Blue Eyes, and fusion summoning Cyberdark Dragon and/or Ultimate Dragon). It does look like you can make a better Blue Eyes deck than a Cyberdragon one, unless you do have more cards to support for Cyberdragons like Limiter Removal or Dark Fusion.
  3. If you don't want to center on just Blue Eyes or Cyberdarks, that's fine too. Good luck.

  1. Don't worry, I'm trying to get Fusion Guard (would have bought it last night but it was sold out).
  2. I build the deck so it is very diverse and can cover many different grounds and startegys.

Thanks for your input, I plan to expand the "Heat of the Cards" section and if you like put in your view in that section so I can cover more. :) Dmaster (Contribs Count) 22:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

  • I am now a little more leanient on Dark Bribe. That is all.

Deck List Comments and Suggestions[edit]

You do know you have only 18 card in your deck! And yes you should use Book of Moon and you should have three Magical Dimension and you should run three Skilled Dark Magician and at least two Dark Magicians because you run Sorcerer of Dark Magic and maybe some Dark Magician Girl and one Dark Magician of Chaos. As for traps you should run some Sakuretsu Armor and a Mirror Force if you have it and maybe some Bottomless Trap Hole. -- Dragon of chaos 23:12, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

  • (?_?) I can't find my deck so currently I'm going by memory.
