Reiji gets an early edge on Yuya, immediately overwhelming his defensive plays, while the story behind their fathers and "Genesis Omega Dragon" slowly surfaces.

Summary[edit]

After having his security system tampered with by Ren, Yuya Sakaki's hideout has finally been discovered by an old friend of his - Reiji Akaba, president of the Leo Corporation, and the one who has been hunting him relentlessly. Yuya leads Reiji into a natural cavern underneath his hideout, determined to entertain his guest. But Reiji is no friend of Yuya's, and he's not here to be entertained. He's here to avenge his father, Leo Akaba, who died as a result of the actions of Yusho Sakaki, Yuya's father, as well as stop Yuya's quest to claim Genesis Omega Dragon and continue Yusho's work. The two sons begin their Duel, and Yuya takes the first turn, saying that the fun begins now.

Even if Reiji refuses to play in an Action Duel with him, Yuya declares that he will still entertain Reiji in his own special way. To begin, he sets the Scale 1 Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon and the Scale 4 Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon into his Pendulum Zones. With his Scales set, he can Pendulum Summon monsters from his hand or face-up Extra Deck from Level 2 to 3 at the same time. Reiji wonders what Yuya could be planning by Pendulum Summoning so soon. Yuya begins his Summon, saying that the three Performapal brothers will certainly entertain Reiji. He Pendulum Summons three copies of Performapal Card Gardna, all in Defense Position. Though they seem weak to Reiji, with only 1000 DEF each, Yuya says it wasn't a bad hand at all, as each monster gains the DEF of every other Performapal he controls, increasing each of their DEF to 3000.

Reiji notes, neither impressed or worried, that Yuya has certainly strengthened his defenses early. Yuya replies simply that it's to be expected - against someone like Reiji, it pays to be careful. Reiji continues that he's grateful for Yuya for providing this secluded space. Being from the same future, and being the only ones here now, there's no risk or fear of discovery.

Meanwhile, in the hideout about them, Yuzu Hiiragi is struggling to open the trapdoor Yuya opened beneath himself and Reiji, slamming on it in frustration when it won't budge. However, she won't give up - Yuya signed a contract, and she will not let him break their deal. And she's certainly going to charge him for damages when she finds him again. Knowing that Yuya's the street magician type, she begins to search the hideout Yuya's inevitable backup path down. At the same time, Shingo Sawatari and Shun Kurosaki are exiting the excavation site where they were searching for President Akaba, presumed missing. At that moment, Shun they receive word that a Duel involving Reiji has begun, and they begin to move towards the coordinates given.

Back in the cavern, Yuya agrees with Reiji. Nobody will be able to hear them if they talk down here, and even if they did, who would believe they came from the future. Reiji angrily yells that they're only here now, in this time, because of Yusho Sakaki, after he triggered the World Illusion with G.O.D.'s power, destroying their future and killing his own father in the process. Reiji wonders what life would be like now if their fathers had never met, but he tells Yuya of the day it all started.

Years ago, in the future, Yusho Sakaki surprised his friend and colleague Leo Akaba one day by announcing that he was quitting his position as a researcher. They had just finished the first large-scale Solid Vision system, and their research was to the point that all that remained was to scale the machine down to a manageable size. Leo protests, asking what they will do without their lead researcher, but Yusho states that Leo will still be there to lead them, as well as receive the credit for the invention. Leo snaps that he doesn't want the credit, and asks what Yusho plans to do after this. Yusho replies simply that he'll become a Duelist, as he pulls a magician's hat from seemingly nowhere.

Yusho tells Leo that Dueling is a good fit for the Solid Vision system they've built, and that he'll use it to bring smiles and happiness to the world. Besides that, laboratories are far too cramped for him. Leo is silent for a moment, then says that Yusho has a goal in mind with this. Yusho laughs and admits he can't fool Leo after all. In truth, Solid Vision, light with solid mass, will certainly change the world, but for the better and the worst. Eventually, militaries across the world will gain access to it, and it will become a tool of violence. Before that, Yusho wants to use their Solid Vision to create something fun - a tool of peace. That's the true purpose of his Entertainment Dueling. Leo is silent again, but then smiles, offering his help in Yusho's project.

After that day, Reiji explains to Yuya in the present which is also the past, their fathers worked hard together to combine Dueling and the Solid Vision they built. And from this perpetual development was born the symbol of the entertainment they wanted - the Pendulum Summon. Yuya is silent as he listens to Reiji's story. Reiji continues that their Solid Vision system works by creating an artificial virtual dimension in the real world, and then making mass particles from within that virtual dimension compatible with the Solid Vision system, drawing them out and materializing them in the real world. But then, during their research, their fathers encountered the entity called Genesis Omega Dragon.

Shocked, Yuya asks if Reiji really knows where G.O.D. came from. Reiji finds this an odd question - Yuya wants to control G.O.D.'s power, but doesn't know of its origins. Yuya explains that his father never told him the details, or, perhaps, never had the time. Reiji explains that G.O.D. came from between dimensions. One day, Leo's research team encountered a situation that was far beyond anything they could have expected. Instead of connecting to their virtual dimension, the Solid Vision connected to a new dimension entirely, and from that different dimension came G.O.D..

Finishing his story for now, Reiji says that before G.O.D.'s power destroyed their world, both he and Yuya were flung into this one, each of them wielding the power of the Pendulum Summon, inherited from their fathers who created it. Reiji begins his turn, and declares that with this power, he will stop Yuya. Reiji sets the Scale 1 D/D Count Surveyor and the Scale 9 D/D Scale Surveyor into his Pendulum Zones. With his Scale set, he can Pendulum Summon monsters from his hand or face-up Extra Deck from Level 2 to 8 at the same time. Reiji Pendulum Summons D/D/D Supersight King Zero Maxwell in Attack Position. With this, he will reduce Yuya's existence to Zero.

Yuya is nervous to see Reiji's Pendulum Summoning, but commends Reiji's Deck and ace monster. However, he still has three monsters on the field, and his monster's 2800 ATK can't pierce any his monsters' 3000 DEF. But Reiji has Zero worries about that as he activates Count Surveyor's Pendulum Effect. With it, he can treat all of Yuya's monsters as a single monster, with combined ATK/DEF values. Yuya's Card Gardnas merge into a single monster with 9000 DEF, and Reiji immediately attacks with Zero Maxwell. Yuya is shocked, as that attack with defeat Reiji instantly, but Reiji responds with Zero Maxwell's effect, reducing Card Gardna's DEF to 0.

The battle continues, and the merged Card Gardnas are destroyed, and Reiji reveals that when it battles, Zero Maxwell inflicts piercing damage. Yuya is thrown backwards as his LP fall to 1200. Reiji declares that he has Zero interest in Yuya's entertainment.
