"Another Fact!" (もう一つの事実! Mō Hitotsu no Jijitsu!) is the seventeenth chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V manga.

This chapter was first printed in Japanese in the February 2017 issue of V Jump, released on December 19, 2016, and in English in the December 26, 2016 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Yuya and Reiji's Duel continues, while Eve and Ren observe them.

Summary[edit]

Inside Yuya Sakaki's secret hideout, Yuzu Hiiragi continues her search for the secret entrance to Yuya's even secret-er hiding place that she's sure Yuya, the savvy magician, is sure to have installed. However, to her frustration, she still hasn't found it. Very suddenly, she hears footsteps approaching, and she turns to find two strangers have found their way into the hideout, which is becoming less "secret" by the hour. Shingo Sawatari recognizes Yuzu, and says that if she's here, then this may truly be Phantom's hideout. Shun Kurosaki turns to Yuzu and demands to know where President Akaba is.

Yuzu explains that he and Yuya have disappeared underneath the floor, but she doesn't know where exactly, as she can't find another way in. Taking a look for himself, Shun pulls back a nearby curtained-off section of the hideout, which Yuzu exclaims to be her room, telling the two to stay out. Yuzu blocks the two strangers' paths as they enter her living space, watching them advance towards her nervously, until they reach her, and her bed, and... throw her bed aside, revealing that she had placed it on top of the very trapdoor she's been searching for.

Meanwhile, in a distant place, Ren and his master Eve continue to monitor the Duel between Yuya Sakaki and Reiji Akaba. Eve muses that the two have finally reached the heart of their Duel. Ren agrees, saying that soon Reiji will reveal whether or not he is the same as Yuya - one who possesses the Adam Factor.

In the natural cavern below the hideout, Yuya and Reiji continue their Duel. Reiji's Pendulum Monsters have proven difficult to overcome, and so Yuya has called in the help of his other personalities - first Yuto who Xyz Summoned Dark Anthelion Dragon (3000 ATK), then Yuri, who has just Fusion Summoned Starving Venemy Dragon (2500 ATK). Yuri continues his turn by activating the effect of his Starving Venemy Dragon to negate the effects of D/D/D Supersight King Zero Maxwell and grant those effects to Starving Venemy Dragon. In addition, Zero Maxwell loses 500 ATK, to 2300, and Reiji takes 500 damage, reducing his LP to 3500. Yuri switches Dark Anthelion Dragon into Attack Position.

Yuri attacks Zero Maxwell with Starving Venemy Dragon, but Reiji activates his Set Dimension Drape, preventing the destruction of his D/D monsters for the turn. The attack continues, and Reiji's LP are reduced to 3300, but Zero Maxwell is saved. Yuri continues with Dark Anthelion Dragon, reducing Reiji's LP to 2600. Yuri notes that Yuya was right to have been so cautious, as shaving away Reiji's LP won't be an easy task. He then Sets a card to end his turn. He would have liked to continue battling Reiji himself, but Yuya has something to say. With a flash, Yuri disappears, and is replaced by Yuya.

Yuya says that Reiji came to this time hunting him believing what his father Leo Akaba told him about how Yusho Sakaki sought to control G.O.D.'s power. However, Reiji hasn't heard his own version of the story. That day, more than twenty years in the future, Yuya had been placed in a capsule by his father Yusho, who explained to Yuya that G.O.D.'s power was rampaging, and its power would soon end the world. Seeing the glowing case on his father's desk, Yuya asks why such a card was in his lab, and Yusho explains that he stole it from a military facility.

He and Doctor Akaba had been experimenting with the card, trying to harness its power, but the experiments were too dangerous. Yusho wanted to put a stop to it, but Leo continued like a man obsessed. He had even obtained military funding to continue his research, and it has now spiraled out of control. Scared, Yuya asks his father what that card really is. Yusho doesn't have that answer, but knows one thing: they were wrong about G.O.D.. They believed it to be a chance phenomenon - a power that was born in a different dimension, but that's not the case. G.O.D. is an artificial construct. Yuya wonders who would make such a thing, and Yusho explains that that's what Yuya will have to find out.

Yusho explains that he will not allow G.O.D. to destroy their world, and that he's learned to harness its power to a degree. With G.O.D.'s own power, Yusho exclaims that he will perform the greatest magic trick of his life - the World Illusion. Yusho explains that time will be drawn back, and Yuya will be flung into the past, and there, where G.O.D.'s power hasn't yet ruined the world, Yuya must ascertain the true nature of G.O.D.. This, Yusho tells his son, is the only way to save the world. A bright light begins to pour throughout the lab. Yuya calls out to his father, and his father says that he's counting on Yuya. More than twenty years in the past, six months ago, Yuya found himself in Maiami City, where Reiji had already been active and built his Leo Corporation.

Reiji is enraged by Yuya's story, wondering if blaming his father makes Yuya happy (either not noticing or not caring that he's doing the same thing), and Yuya protests that that's not what he's trying to do. Reiji has had enough of Yuya's drivel, and will only continue listening if Yuya can defeat him. Reiji begins his turn. Yuya reminds him that Starving Venemy Dragon's effect is still applying, meaning his monster's effects are still negated, and its ATK is still reduced. Reiji activates Creative Destruction, allowing him to destroy his D/D/D monster and add another D/D/D to his hand. In addition, he can reduce an opponent's monster's DEF to 0 at the same time. He destroys Zero Maxwell, then reduces the DEF of Starving Venemy Dragon to 0. And since Zero Maxwell is a Pendulum Monster, and his Pendulum Scale is still set at 1 and 9, Reiji Pendulum Summons Zero Maxwell from his Extra Deck back to his field, with Starving Venemy Dragon's effect no longer affecting it.

Yuya wonders if Reiji's planning on attacking now that his monster has its ATK and effects back. Reiji denies this, saying that instead he will Tribute his Zero Maxwell. By Tributing a D/D/D monster will at least 2500 ATK, Reiji can Special Summon D/D/D Destiny King Zero Laplace from his hand in Attack Position. Yuya wonders what Reiji will do with a monster with 0 ATK. Reiji asks if the number Yuya sees on Zero Laplace is real, and informs him that when it attacks a monster, Zero Laplace's ATK is double that monster's ATK, and it can inflict piercing damage.

Yuya sees that despite being the magician here, he's been tricked; however, he still has his Set Trick Barrier, which forces Reiji to only attack a monster Yuya chooses for the rest of the turn, and he chooses Starving Venemy Dragon. In addition, if Starving Venemy Dragon is destroyed, Yuya can draw a card. Reiji notes that Starving Venemy Dragon still possesses Zero Maxwell's effect, meaning that Yuya can reduce the damage he takes from its destruction to 0. Despite that, Reiji has a countermove ready. He activates Endless Seal, which allows him to add a Seal card from his Graveyard to his hand during any turn he's Pendulum Summoned a D/D/D monster. He adds Block Attack, which he then activates to force Starving Venemy Dragon into Defense Position.

Reiji attacks Starving Venemy Dragon with Zero Laplace. His monster's effect makes its ATK become double that of Starving Venemy's 2500 ATK, to 5000. Yuya activates his monster's effect to reduce the piercing damage to 0. In addition, when destroyed, his Pendulum Fusion Monster is placed in his Pendulum Zone, and Trick Barriers allows Yuya to draw a card. Reiji's attack doesn't end there, as his 00 Rush card is still in effect - if his monster attacks a Defense Position monster with 0 DEF, that monster can attack again. Yuya realizes this is why he used Block Attack again.

Reiji attacks Dark Anthelion Dragon with Zero Laplace, with his monster's ATK become double that of Dark Anthelion's 3000, to 6000. Reiji declares that this is the end of the Phantom - rather, of Yuya Sakaki. However, Yuya activates Starving Venemy's Pendulum Effect, allowing him to reduce the damage from this battle to 0. Dark Anthelion Dragon is destroyed, and Yuya activates its effect, placing his Pendulum Xyz Monster in his Pendulum Zone. With his Pendulum Scale set from 1 to 10, Yuya begins his turn. Reiji silently commends Yuya's efforts, but activates the Pendulum Effect of D/D Count Surveyor, allowing him to change the Scale of Yuya's Pendulum Monsters to 0 for the rest of the turn.

Reiji exclaims that with his Pendulum Scale set to 0, the pendulum of destiny has been stopped before it could swing. But suddenly the spotlight seems to shine on Yuya, and he declares to an audience only he can see that even if the pendulum of destiny is stopped, the show will go on. Yuya declares that with his Overscale Pendulum Summon, the fun begins now.

Featured Duel: Yuya Sakaki vs. Reiji Akaba[edit]

Duel continues from the previous Scale.

Turn 5: Yuri
Yuri activates the effect of "Starving Venemy Dragon", negating the effects of Reiji's "D/D/D Supersight King Zero Maxwell" and granting those effects to "Starving Venemy". Furthermore, the ATK of "Zero Maxell" is reduced by 500 ("Zero Maxwell": ATK 2800 → 2300) and Reiji takes 500 damage (Reiji 4000 → 3500). Yuri switches "Dark Anthelion Dragon" to Attack Position. "Starving Venemy" attacks "Zero Maxwell". Reiji activates his face-down "Dimension Drape", preventing the destruction of "Zero Maxwell" this turn, however he still takes battle damage (Reiji 3500 → 3300). Next, "Dark Anthelion" attacks "Zero Maxwell" as well, with the same result (Reiji 3300 → 2600). Yuri Sets 1 card.

At this point, Yuri switches back to Yuya.

Turn 6: Reiji
Reiji activates "Creative Destruction", destroying "Zero Maxwell" and adding another "D/D/D" monster to his hand, as well as reducing the DEF of "Starving Venemy" to zero ("Starving Venemy": DEF 2000 → 0). He then uses his set Pendulum Scales to Pendulum Summon "Zero Maxwell" (2800/2500) back from his Extra Deck, and proceeds to release it, Special Summoning "D/D/D Destiny King Zero Laplace" (0/0) from his hand. Yuya activates his face-down "Trick Barrier", making it so that Reiji can only attack "Starving Venemy". Reiji activates the Continuous Spell Card "Endless Seal", allowing him to recover "Block Attack" from his Graveyard since he has Pendulum Summoned a "D/D/D" monster this turn. He then activates it, switching "Starving Venemy" to Defense Position. "Zero Laplace" attacks "Starving Venemy", with its effects activating, making its ATK double the attack of "Starving Venemy" ("Zero Laplace": ATK 0 → 5000) and inflicting piercing battle damage. "Starving Venemy" is destroyed, however, since it had gained the effects of "Zero Maxwell", the damage to Yuya is reduced to zero. Upon the destruction of "Starving Venemy", Yuya places it (PS: 1) in his right Pendulum Zone. Also, the effect of "Trick Barrier" allows him to draw 1 card. Since he has just attacked a 0-DEF monster, Reiji activates the effect of "00 Rush", allowing "Zero Laplace" to attack again. "Zero Laplace" attacks "Dark Anthelion", with its effect activating ("Zero Laplace": ATK 0 → 6000). "Dark Anthelion" is destroyed, but Yuya activates the Pendulum Effect of "Starving Venemy", reducing the damage to zero. Upon the destruction of "Dark Anthelion", Yuya places it (PS: 10) in his left Pendulum Zone.

Turn 7: Yuya
Reiji activates the Pendulum Effect of "D/D Scale Surveyor", setting the Pendulum Scales of "Starving Venemy" and "Dark Anthelion" to zero.

Duel continues in the next Scale.
