"Requiem of Fiction" is the thirteenth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It first aired in Japan on June 26, 2022.

Two alien warriors are trying to bring peace to the Velgear Star Cluster. One is learning about Rush Duels in order to end all conflicts, while the other is trying to weaponize Rush Duels in order to achieve victory over his foes. As their unwavering ideals clash, the battle between Yudias and Zuwijo finally reaches a conclusion!

Summary[edit]

As Zuwijo roars from within "Voidvelgr Requiem", Yudias hears Yuamu asking what this is. Yudias turns to see Yuamu and Manabu holding their Decks, glowing with the power of the Earthdamar as Yuhi and Nyandestar (the latter's back arched and hair on end) watch, Yuhi recognizing the light. Manabu wonders if their Duel Disks have been affected and an MIK agent arrives to explain reports of Duel Disks and Decks with anomalies across Mutsuba Town. Nyandestar and Manabu yelp that it's "purrposterous" and Yuhi gasps this feeling is totally different from before, he and Yuamu wondering if the influence of the Earthdamar has spread throughout the town. Yuhi suddenly collapses, Yuamu gasping his name and Yudias turning and screaming his name in horror. He races towards Yuhi on Valvelgear calling his name again, but Zuwijo asks Yudias what's wrong, as their battle isn't over yet, unless Yudias would like to admit defeat. Yuamu tells Yudias to keep fighting, stating it's what Yuhi would say if he could, and Yudias whispers the twins' names and then agrees to continue the Rush Duel, much to Zuwijo's shock. Yuamu reassures Yudias she'll take care of things, and Yudias gives her the thumbs up and replies "UTS!" before turning back to face Zuwijo.

Declaring the continuation of the Duel, Zuwijo activates the effect of "Requiem", sending the top card of his Deck ("Voidvelgr Meteon") to increase its ATK by 300 for each DARK monster he controls. As "Requiem" rises to 3400 ATK Zuwijo laughs that he can feel the power swelling inside him and adds that since Yudias controls a LIGHT monster, "Requiem" gains another 600 ATK. "Requiem" rises to 4000 ATK, Zuwijo declaring this is the power of the Earthdamar, and then since he controls a Level 7 or higher Galaxy Type monster he activates the effect of one of the "Meteons" he controls, sending it to the Graveyard to destroy a Level 6 or lower LIGHT monster his opponent controls. He orders "Seyfert" to disappear and it shatters, Zuwijo laughing as he adds that he can also inflict 300 damage to Yudias if he destroyed a monster. Lightning strikes Yudias, who gasps the damage as he falls to 3200 LP, and Zuwijo laughs.

Down below Manya recoils in shock with London and Bochi as monsters appear around them, having appeared from the Decks of the Duelists present. The MC and his camerawoman look around in shock, the MC asking if these are also special effects. Back atop Mutsuba Tower, Manabu isn't happy his agents still don't know the cause of the phenomenon, while Yuamu urgently thinks to herself, then Yuhi's image flashes across her mind and she gasps. She tells Manabu to find Mutsuba Tower's power source and Manabu asks why, only to be told just to hurry and do it. The MIK agents soon find the room in question, quietly informing Manabu that it's currently operating, much to his shock. Yuamu muses it's as she thought and Nyandestar asks why, pointing out the tower is still under construction. Zuwijo chooses that moment to activate the effect of his other "Meteon", sending it to the Graveyard to destroy "Galactica Amnesia" and inflict 300 damage to Yudias, Yudias gasping the damage again as he falls to 300 LP. Yuamu laments not realizing Zuwijo's real goal earlier, reminding them Mutsuba Tower is being built to strengthen the Rush Dueling communication system. Manabu agrees he's heard as much and Yuamu states that Zuwijo is using the tower's radio waves to transmit the power of the Earthdamar across the town, Manabu and Nyandestar yelping "Purrposterous!" in shock. As Mitsuko watches the Earthdamar twisting inside its capsule, Yuamu explains that Zuwijo didn't just want to show the aliens the power of the Earthdamar, but also use the radio waves to force monsters to materialize. Manabu orders the agents to stop it, but the door to the power supply bursts open and Mitsuko emerges in her costume. Zuwijo declares battle, ordering "Transamu Rainac" to disappear. As "Requiem" charges, Yuhi flashes across Yudias' mind, and he gasps Yuhi's name in surprise before "Requiem" slashes through "Transamu Rainac", Yudias gasping the 2400 damage as he falls to 500 LP and collapses in a crouch. Zuwijo, on 3400 LP himself, ends his turn, returning the ATK of "Requiem" to normal as he warns Yudias this is the end.

Yudias struggles to his feet, declares his turn and a Velgear Draw, drawing "Vortex Shooter", "Giant Bulge", "Asteroeva", "Galactica Repulsion", and "Galactica Lattice" as he wonders what that was. "Requiem's" tail suddenly lances towards Yudias, and as he dodges on Valvelgear, Zuwijo tells Yudias he's full of openings, asking what's wrong and disgusted he calls himself a warrior of Velgear. Yudias draws his sword and duels with "Requiem", Yuhi flashing across Yuamu's mind, and she grimaces. Yudias takes notice and calls her name, though she reassures him she's fine. Down below Manya addresses the TV audience, noting the Rush Dueling system seems to be malfunctioning and suggesting they stay away from their Duel Disks and Decks as Bochi and London pop up behind her, but more monsters have begun to materialize and Nyandestar desperately asks what they should do given the problem is getting worse. Manabu looks at his partially materialized "Dynamo Might" and declares the Duel a hazard they need to stop, but Yuamu tells him to wait: Yuhi is inside "Requiem". Manabu and Nyandestar gasp in shock, and Yudias admits he felt it too.

The white-haired girl asks Kawai what is happening and Kawai, showing her his partially materialized "Kappa Avenger", explains that the Velgearian Zuwijo is currently transmitting the Earthdamar across the town. The girl sighs that the Earthdamar is such a nuisance and Kawai adds that his research has determined the Earthdamar has an effect on its originator. The girl warns Kawai he's speaking in long and dull riddles and tells him to briefly sum it up, so Kawai quickly explains that due to the effect on the monster being so strong, Yuhi Ohdo's consciousness has merged with it, including his sentience. As Kawai takes a bite from his cucumber, the girl muses the world is full of strange happenings, though Kawai notes there's more to it. Atop Mutsuba Tower, Manabu puts down his Duel Disk while Nyandestar is still processing Yuhi being inside "Requiem", and Manabu states they really have to stop the Duel now. Yuamu warns that could be bad, reminding them how dangerous materializing a monster is as they recall the drained Chupataro and she's not sure what would happen to Yuhi's consciousness if they stopped the Duel now, worrying what the worst case scenario could be. Kawai has apparently just finished explaining the same to the white-haired girl, who states that's impossible, though Kawai notes the scary thing about the Earthdamar is they can't say so for certain. The girl asks what Kawai wants her to do about it, and Kawai states they first need to stop what's happening as they both look at the partially materialized "Kappa Avenger".

Yudias notes that attacking "Requiem" now could do a lot of damage to Yuhi's consciousness, but as he wonders how he should attack he spots the "Galactica Repulsion" card in his hand, remembering Yuhi telling him it could return a monster from the field to the hand, and he cries that he can use this. He Summons "Vortex Shooter", "Giant Bulge" and "Astroeva", worrying Manabu over Summoning low-ATK monsters in Attack Position, but Yuamu has realized Yudias has "Galactica Repulsion" in his hand and believes it could be used to remove "Requiem" from the field without hurting Yuhi. But Zuwijo activates a Trap Card, "Void Intercept", which he can activate when Yudias Summons a monster while Zuwijo himself controls a DARK Galaxy Type monster, and send a random card in Yudias' hand to the Graveyard. Yudias grits his teeth and Yuamu notes Yudias has two cards in his hand, so the odds are one in two, begging Zuwijo to pick wrong, but Zuwijo picks the card on Yudias' right, which is indeed "Galactica Repulsion". Yuamu curses desperately as Yudias discards the card, then Sets the remaining card in his hand to end his turn. Zuwijo promptly lunges at Yudias with "Requiem", calling Yudias naïve for having the luxury of refusing to hurt his opponent, and as Yudias dodges, Zuwijo tells him to remember the rules of war with the pain he inflicts upon Yudias, slashing with "Requiem's" claws and striking Yudias.

Down below, Mitsuko - or rather her costume - easily battles the MIK agents, while the real Mitsuko watches the Earthdamar squirming violently and gasps Zuwijo's name.

Zuwijo, his eyes within "Requiem" shining with the power of the Earthdamar, tells the battered Yudias he will lose because he is weak and foolish and tells him to gaze upon Egil Velgear Gyruudo, the power to dominate the galaxy, and its unlimited potential will bring absolute victory to Velgear. Raising "Requiem's" weapon, Zuwijo leaps towards Yudias, and Yuamu cries his name. In the streets below, a massive machine rolls through Mutsuba Town, the citizens running to get out of the way, while Zuwijo's attack stops as he screams in agony. Yuamu sees "Requiem" screaming, and Yuhi flashes across her mind as she gasps his name. Yuhi's voice tells Zuwijo that he'd never let him do whatever he wants, and Zuwijo is thrown backwards with a scream as a green gasp opens on "Requiem's" back. In the power storage room, Mitsuko's costume vanishes, leaving only her helmet, which leaves the beaten MIK agents and returns to Mitsuko, who watches the Earthdamar in concern, asking if something is happening to Zuwijo.

Then the wall suddenly explodes inwards, Mitsuko gasping in shock as a titanic bucket-wheel excavator carves open the side of Mutsuba Tower. Outside Manya asks what it is and Nyandestar gasps that it's huge, but Manabu recognizes it as belonging to Mutsuba. On the excavator's deck, the white-haired girl stands beside Kawai, chastising the foolish aliens for having the audacity to occupy her radio tower and suggesting they vacate the premises if they don't want to get hurt, introducing herself as Asaka Mutsuba, the president of Mutsuba Heavy Machinery. Mitsuko, now back in her costume, is infuriated a machinery nerd is talking back and blasts red eyebeams at her, but Asaka's excavator intercepts them with its wheel, Asaka pointing out Mutsuba Town has flourished due to Mutsuba Heavy Machinery, making her the greatest elite in town. Mitsuko pints out she's in the central section of the tower and asks if Asaka doesn't care what happens to it, but Asaka calls it a stupid question, as destruction and creation - or scrapping and building - is the very essence of the Heavy Cavalry Way. The excavator lowers its wheel into the tower as Mitsuko yelps, and it withdraws with a glowing bucket, the glow fading to reveal the Earthdamar's capsule amidst the scrap. With the Earthdamar removed, the partially materialized monsters vanish, as observed by Manya, Manabu gasping in shock, and Asaka triumphantly tells the villainous alien Zuwijo his plans have been completely foiled. Zuwijo grits his teeth and Yudias tells him his "Voidvelgr Reqiuem" has taken Yuhi's spirit and orders him to be given back, but Zuwijo tells Yudias to defeat him with his own hands if he wants Yuhi back.

He declares his turn and draws "Attribute Shift Bomb", "Voidvelgr Globule", "Eclipse", "Void Corridor", and "Voidvelgr Pale Rider", then looks at Yudias and his Set card. He promptly Summons "Voidvelgr Pale Rider", and the battered Mitsuko gasps Zuwijo's name in shock as she climbs over the tower's edge, Zuwijo glancing back at her with a smirk. Yudias activates a Trap of his own, "Galactica Lattice", changing all his Galaxy Type monsters to Defense Position and increasing their DEF by 500 for each monster changed, a total of 1500 each. Mitsuko falls to her knees, noting Zuwijo would have won if he'd attacked immediately with "Requiem" and wonders why he didn't. Zuwijo then sends a card from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the Spell Card "Void Corridor", adding a Galaxy Type monster from his Graveyard to his hand. Choosing "Voidvelgr Meteon", he immediately Summons it, then sends the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Requiem", increasing its ATK by 300 for each DARK monster he controls and then a further 600 since Yudias controls a LIGHT monster, bringing "Requiem" back up to 4000 ATK. Down on the excavator, Asaka asks Kawai what will happen to Yuhi if Zuwijo wins, and Kawai notes that if "Requiem" isn't destroyed during the Duel and reverted into a card, Yuhi's consciousness could be left inside; Asaka quickly flicking a grim glance at Kawai in response. Zuwijo sends "Meteon" to the Graveyard to activate its effect, destroying "Astroeva" and inflicting 300 damage to Yudias, who gasps the damage as he falls to 200 LP. Then Zuwijo activates the Spell Card "Eclipse", choosing a monster he controls and one Yudias controls with the same Level and destroying them both, and he selects the Level 4 "Pale Rider" and "Giant Bulge". Both monsters explode into colored shards and Zuwijo Sets "Attribute Shift Bomb", then declares battle, "Requiem" attacking and destroying "Vortex Shooter". Zuwijo ends his turn, returning the ATK of "Requiem" to normal and leaving the score on 3400 vs 200 LP. Nyandestar gasps that Yudias barely held on and Manabu sighs that it would have been over had Yudias not switched his monsters into Defense Position with "Galactica Lattice".

Yudias declares his turn and a Velgear Draw, drawing "Meteorhino", "Heaven Gancel", "Power Syzygy", "Galactica Rise", and "Cosmo Titan" and wondering how to deal with "Requiem" without attacking it, gritting his teeth and thinking this won't do. Yuamu notes that with 200 LP remaining, Yudias' only chance is to finish the Duel this turn, and he'll have to deal with "Requiem" to do so. The Yuhi's voice calls to her, asking her to say something to Yudias for him. Yudias clenches his fist, believing he can't deal with "Voidvelgr Requiem" without hurting Yuhi as he is now, wishing he was better at Rush Dueling. Yuamu then calls out to Yudias, explaining he has a message from Yuhi: Yuhi apologizes for causing Yudias so much pain and admits he's at his limit and isn't sure how long he'll last, but Yudias must defeat Zuwijo. Yudias protests he'd hurt Yuhi and Yuhi (as conveyed by Yuamu) points out he might lose consciousness either way, leaving the rest to Yudias. After a brief silence, Yudias replies that he understands and asks Yuhi to trust in him, as he'll definitely win this battle and rescue him. He gives a thumbs up of "UTS", Yuamu, Manabu, and Nyandestar all responding in kind.

Yudias activates a Spell Card, "Power Syzygy", sending cards from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard for each monster Zuwijo controls, and if he sends a Galaxy Type Normal Monster, then Zuwijo's monster will lose 1000 ATK. He flips the card around - "Galactica Oblivion", and Nyandestar and Manabu panic over Yudias sending "Oblivion" to the Graveyard, but Yuamu and Yudias assure them this is fine as Yudias sends "Oblivion" to the Graveyard and reduces "Requiem" to 1500 ATK. Then Yudias activates the Spell Card "Galactica Rise", Special Summoning a Galaxy Type Normal Monster from his Graveyard and chanting "As the ship of memories revolves around the cosmic skies of oblivion, the stars and planets swirling through the heavens call upon the name hidden in their chests! Take flight! Galactica Oblivion!" Manabu and Nyandestar gasp happily as Yuamu smiles and Yudias then sends three cards from his hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of "Galactica Oblivion" by 800 for each. "Galactica Oblivion" gains 2400 ATK, rising to 4900, and Yudias tells Yuhi he's coming for him, Yuhi's spirit replying that he's counting on Yudias. Declaring battle, Yudias attacks "Voidvelgr Requiem" with "Galactica Oblivion's" "War To Zen! Awesome True Goodnight!" destroying it and reducing Zuwijo's LP to zero, Zuwijo screaming "Zabeli du gilai Velgeardt" as the energy reaches him within "Requiem". Yudias gasps upon hearing the Velgearian words.

Asaka and Kawai notice the change, Asaka asking if it's over. Manya gasps as the glow of the Earthdamar fades from the sky. Zuwijo lies on his back as the smoke clears and Manabu orders MIK agents to capture him, but Mitsuko suddenly bursts from the smoke with Zuwijo in her arms, causing the agents to hesitate. A ring of light appears on Mitsuko's back and she rises into the air, the agents yelling "Capture!" as she leaves and Nyandestar cursing over Mitsuko's stubbornness. Manabu yells at the agents not to let Mitsuko escape, but they're too late to stop her. As Asaka's excavator moves away from Mutsuba Tower, Yuhi wakes up to see Yuamu, Yudias (back in his human form) Manya and London looking over him, and Yuamu is relieved to see her brother is okay, Manya admitting she was on the edge of her seat. Yuhi tells Yudias that he did it, and Yudias replies it was all thanks to Yuhi, holding out his hand and pulling Yuhi to his feet when he takes it, prompting them both to laugh happily. Manya comments that Zuwijo was such a nuisance, London adding the Tower is all beat up and Bochi noting the president of Mutsuba Heavy Machinery seemed excited. Yuhi laughs, but then asks if they're sure Zuwijo is really a bad guy, causing Yudias to hesitate, though Manya protests that of course Zuwijo is, comparing him to the villain of a two-hour special that's obvious from the beginning. But Yuhi points out Zuwijo probably could have crushed them all with "Requiem" had he wanted, and Yuamu wonders if Zuwijo was trying to preserve Yuhi's consciousness by giving Yudias another turn, Yuhi looking down in uncertainty. Meanwhile Mitsuko is still flying with Zuwijo, wondering if this was all planned by Master Zuwijo, who uses the Galaxy Type like Yudias does, and wondering if he predicted Yudias had "Galactica Lattice" Set. Yudias repeats the Velgearian words Zuwijo spoke and declares that he is hiding something, much to everyone else's shock.

In an unknown location, the Earthdamar violently swirls in its capsule, and an indigo-haired woman asks who was in charge of the Mutsuba branch. A man informs her that Manabu Sogetsu is in charge and the woman decides she can no longer let Manabu do as he wants. As purple lightning crackles from red clouds over half of a town, the woman, accompanied by six men, notes that too many problems have been piling up in that town, leaving the chamber containing the Earthdamar.

Featured Duel: Yudias Velgear vs Zuwijo zir Velgear[edit]

Duel continues from the previous episode.

Yudias has 3500 LP and controls "Transamu Rainac" (1600/0), "Silver Seyfert" (2000/800), and "Galactica Amnesia" (1600/1500) in Attack Position. Zuwijo has 3400 LP and controls "Voidvelgr Requiem" (2500/2000) and two copies of "Voidvelgr Meteon" (500/900) in Attack Position and "Void Intercept" Set in his Spell & Trap Zone.

Turn 3: Zuwijo
Zuwijo activates the effect of "Voidvelgr Requiem", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by 300 for each DARK monster he controls until the end of the turn, then if Yudias controls a LIGHT monster, "Requiem" gains an additional 600 ATK until the end of the turn. Zuwijo sends "Voidvelgr Meteon" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard and controls three DARK monsters, and Yudias controls ("Requiem": 2500/2000 → 3400/2000 → 4000/2000). Zuwijo activates the effect of a "Meteon", allowing him to send it to the Graveyard to destroy a Level 6 or lower LIGHT monster Yudias controls and inflict 300 damage to Yudias. Zuwijo destroys the Level 6 LIGHT "Silver Seyfert" (Yudias: 3500 → 3200 LP). Zuwijo activates the effect of his other "Meteon", sending it to the Graveyard to destroy the Level 6 LIGHT "Galactica Amnesia" (Yudias: 3200 → 2900 LP). "Requiem" attacks and destroys "Transamu Rainac" (Yudias: 2900 → 500 LP). During the End Phase, the effect of "Requiem" expires ("Requiem": 4000/2000 → 2500/2000).

Turn 4: Yudias
Yudias draws "Vortex Shooter", "Giant Bulge", "Asteroeva", "Galactica Repulsion", and "Galactica Lattice". Yudias Normal Summons "Vortex Shooter" (1400/1000), "Giant Bulge" (1300/1300), and "Asteroeva" (900/100). As Yudias Normal Summoned a monster while the only face-up monsters Zuwijo controls are DARK Galaxy Type monsters, he activates his Set Trap Card "Void Intercept", sending one random card from Yudias's hand to the Graveyard, then if Yudias has two or more cards in his hand, he can draw a card. Zuwijo sends "Galactica Repulsion" from Yudias's hand to the Graveyard, so Yudias only has one card in his hand, and Yudias does not draw a card. Yudias Sets a card.

Turn 5: Zuwijo
Zuwijo draws "Attribute Shift Bomb", "Voidvelgr Globule", "Eclipse", "Void Corridor", and "Voidvelgr Pale Rider". Zuwijo Normal Summons "Pale Rider" (1600/0). As Zuwijo Normal Summoned a monster, Yudias activates his Set Trap Card "Galactica Lattice", changing up to three Attack Position Galaxy Type Normal Monsters he controls to face-up Defense Position, then increasing the DEF of all face-up monsters he controls by 500 for each Galaxy Type monster he controls until the end of the turn. He changes "Vortex Shooter", "Giant Bulge", and "Asteroeva" to face-up Defense Position, so they each gain 1500 DEF ("Vortex Shooter": 1400/1000 → 1400/2500) ("Giant Bulge": 1300/1300 → 1300/2800 ("Asteroeva": 900/100 → 900/1600). As Zuwijo has a DARK Galaxy Type monster in his Graveyard, he activates the Spell Card "Void Corridor", sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to add a DARK Galaxy Type monster from his Graveyard to his hand. He sends "Globule" from his hand to the Graveyard and adds "Voidvelgr Meteon" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo Normal Summons "Meteon" (500/900). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Requiem", sending an unknown card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Requiem": 2500/2000 → 3400/2000 → 4000/2000). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Meteon", sending it to the Graveyard to destroy the Level 1 LIGHT "Asteroeva" (Yudias: 500 → 200 LP). Zuwijo activates the Spell Card "Eclipse", destroying a face-up monster he controls and a face-up monster Yudias controls with the same Level. He destroys the Level 4 "Pale Rider" and "Giant Bulge". Zuwijo Sets a card. "Requiem" attacks and destroys "Vortex Shooter". During the End Phase, the effect of "Requiem" expires ("Requiem": 4000/2000 → 2500/2000).

Turn 6: Yudias
Yudias draws "Meteorhino", "Heaven Gancel", "Power Syzygy", "Galactica Rise", and "Cosmo Titan". Yudias activates the Spell Card "Power Syzygy", sending cards from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of monsters Zuwijo controls, and if Yudias sends a Galaxy Type Normal Monster to the Graveyard with this effect, he can reduce the ATK of a face-up monster Zuwijo controls by 1000 until the end of the turn. He sends "Galactica Oblivion" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, then chooses "Requiem" ("Requiem": 2500/2000 → 1500/2000). As only Zuwijo controls a monster, Yudias activates the Spell Card "Galactica Rise", Special Summoning a Galaxy Type Normal Monster from his Graveyard, then he can send up to three monsters from his hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of the Special Summoned monster by 800 for each monster sent to the Graveyard with this effect until the end of the turn. He Special Summons "Galactica Oblivion" (2500/2500) from his Graveyard in Attack Position, then sends "Meteorhino", "Heaven Gancel", and "Cosmo Titan" from his hand to the Graveyard ("Galactica Oblivion": 2500/2500 → 4900/2500). "Galactica Oblivion" attacks and destroys "Voidvelgr Requiem" (Zuwijo: 3400 → 0 LP).
