"Tiger Tamer!", known as "Tiger & Dragon" in the Japanese version is the eighty-ninth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. It first aired in Japan on March 6, 2022. It became available for streaming on Hulu August 21, 2023 in America.

Tiger tells Yuga that he's just a useless grade-schooler since he couldn't figure out how to amplify the Pauli effect. Angered by what Tiger said, Luke challenges his ultra-strong sister to a Duel. Accompanied by a mysterious light, the fierce Duel between the Kallister siblings ends in a way no one could have expected!

Summary[edit]

Tiger tells Luke to prove her wrong with his own version of reality if he's so adamant as she takes out her Duel Disk and hoists on her shoulder, asking if Luke thinks he can. Luke takes out his own Duel Disk, declaring he can and will as Yuga, Romin, Asana, Gavin and Vance all watch quietly. Luke and Tiger insert their Decks into their Duel Disks with a cry of "Rush Duel!" and deploy the blades, blue fire erupting around Luke in the shape of a dragon and orange around Tiger in the shape of a tiger. Gavin protests they need to hurry and stop the Goha Enterprises Drones on the moon and asks why Luke and Tiger need to have a sibling fight now as the green holographic dome appears around them. Asana admits Tialina has a rough personality, but something is different about her now and Yuga suggests they just observe: this Duel is between Luke and Tiger.

Tiger takes the first turn, drawing a card. Her hand contains "Tiger Glare", "Destruction of the Universe", "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" and "Flutomahawk the Music Princess", and she's just drawn "Digisoon the Music Fiend". She Summons "Brassaxophone" and "Flutomahawk" and then Tributes them to Tribute Summon, chanting "The long, middle fingered older brother, standoffish with his pinky, adrenaline in his sprained finger. With a swelling breath, he proposes to the thumb princess! Come forth! Digisoon the Music Fiend!" Luke gasps as "Digisoon" looms above him and Tiger Sets two cards, prepared to punish her bull-headed younger brother as she ends her turn.

Luke quietly declares his turn and draws "Pot of Greed", activating the Spell Card to draw two cards, "Descending Dragon of Clear Water" and "Multistrike Dragon Dragias". He begs "Dragias" to give him the courage he needs to face his sister and Summons three monsters, "Triad Drago" (300/1300), "Draco the Tiny" (0/1400), and "Sportsdragon Pitcher". Gavin notes Luke's defenses are already airtight and Romin adds he's only getting started, though Yuga mentally urges Luke not to rush things because he'll just lose like Yuga did. Vance then loudly cheers for Luke, much to everyone's shock, and Tiger furiously whispers for "gears-for-brains" to back off repeatedly. Once Vance is back on the sidelines, Luke activates the effect of "Triad Drago" to draw a card, "Pheptanix Dragon". He Tributes "Draco the Tiny" and "Sportsdragon Pitcher" to Tribute Summon "Multistrike Dragon Dragias", and Tiger observes that it's here. Luke then sends "Steel Strike Dragon Metagias" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate the "Gias Charge" effect of "Dragias", allowing it to attack again if it destroys one of Tiger's monsters. Then he Summons "Pheptanix Dragon", a card his friends haven't seen before, though Vance notes it's only Level 3 and cheers for Tiger, prompting Romin to ask whose side he's on, and Vance claims he's on both sides. Luke activates the effect of "Pheptanix Dragon", adding "Metagias" back to his hand, which also contains "Descending Dragon of Clear Water" and "Undulating Barrier", then Tributes "Pheptanix Dragon" and "Triad Drago" to Tribute Summon, chanting "A fist meta-hardened by hidden feelings! Pack yourself meta-full with fighting spirit and you'll open your eyes! Blow away the meter inside your heart, and beyond this galaxy's long wormhole, there you'll find the Andrometa Nebula! Tear 'em to meta-meta shreds! Steel Strike Dragon Metagias!"

As "Metagias" alights beside "Dragias", Luke Sets two cards and declares his setup for certain victory is complete, ordering "Dragias" to attack. But Tiger snaps that it isn't enough and activates her Trap Card "Tiger Glare", which flips up and disgorges a massive surge of pink energy, changing "Dragias" into Defense Position, inflicting damage to Luke equal to the ATK of "Metagias", reducing his LP to 1500 and blasting him off his feet below "Metagias", which explodes above him. Gavin gasps that "Metagias" was torn to meta-meta shreds itself and Romin comments that's Tiger for you: her strength is really meta (and poor Asana looks at them in confusion) while Vance cries that he doesn't want his adorable great-granchildren to fight any-Metagias-more, a joke Gavin and Romin give a no to, though Asana protests she thought it was funny. Tiger mocks Luke's setup for certain victory and crosses her arms, telling him not to make her laugh and asking what's next. Luke gets up and ends his turn.

Tiger declares her turn and draws five cards, "Boton the Music Princess", "Fusion", "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", and "Ophiclaymore the Music Princess", and she narrows her eyes at the sight of "Fusion". She Summons "Boton the Music Princess" and tells Luke she'll show him what a real setup for vitory looks like, and Luke grits his teeth as Tiger closes her eyes, then activates "Fusion". She fuses "Digisoon" and "Boton", chanting "The sweet adorable thumb princess makes contact from beyond the universe. At the conductor's signal, sound out! Play with the breath of the gods! Fusion Summon! Divinebreath the Orchestral Music Fiend!" A massive monster composed of musical instruments appears with 3000 ATK, and Gavin gasps that it's a new Fusion Monster. Tiger sends three cards from her hand to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Divinebreath", increasing its ATK by 1000 for each monster she sent to the Graveyard until the end of the turn, preventing it from being destroyed by Trap effects, and allowing it to inflict piercing damage. She declares "Eternal God Symphony" as "Divinebreath" powers up to 6000 ATK and Luke asks what she said in shock. Tiger points to the sky and declares this is a setup for certain victory; in reality one must discard everything else to grasp victory, something Luke doesn't have the resolve for, accusing Luke of only saying lame garbage like "he'll save Dueling" and telling him those dreams won't work in reality. Luke bites back a retort and Gavin indignantly asks if Luke is just going to take that, but Luke admits his sister is right, much to his friends' shock, though Luke continues that if one gives up on dreams that's all they'll ever be, so he'll make his dreams into reality. Tiger scoffs that Luke is all talk and attacks "Dragias" with "Divinebreath".

But Luke activates a Trap Card, "Wave Wall", sending the top five cards of his Deck to the Graveyard, reducing the ATK of "Divinebreath" by 100 times the total Levels of the sent monsters, and he sends "Piercing Dragon Bunker Strike", "Insurrection Dragon", "Shock Dragon", "Stock Buster Dragon", and "Dragonic Slayer" - all Level 7 Monster Cards, reducing the ATK of "Divinebreath" to 2500 as Luke vows that his Dragons will become a shield to protect him from Tiger's attack. Romin is shocked Luke was able to send five Dragons to the Graveyard and Gavin calls it an all-out war, though Tiger simply believes Luke still can't face reality, vowing to blow them all away whether he brings out five or five-hundred. She orders "Divinebreath" to attack with "Breath of Inferno", and it disgorges all the musical instrument attached to it, blasting sonic waves at "Dragias" as the five Dragon cards appear in front of it, each being shattered by the attack until "Dragias" is finally destroyed. Tiger reminds Luke the attack pierces, blasting a beam of yellow energy from her hand that pierces through Luke and recues him to 500 LP. As the ATK of "Divinebreath" returns to normal, Tiger remarks that she hasn't taken any damage but Luke only has 500 LP. She asks if Luke has begun to face reality yet as she ends her turn. Asana wonders if this Duel was too much for Luke after all and Gavin admits that Tiger may be an indomitable wall Luke can't climb. Romin protests they don't know that for certain, and Gavin admits he'd like to think so, but notes reality is cruel.

Luke declares his turn and draws five cards, "Charging Clash", "Illusion Strike Dragon Metagias", his own "Fusion", "The Dragon", and "Sportsdragon Slugger". Romin observes Luke isn't worried at all despite only hanging on by a thread, and Gavin wonders if Luke has given up, but Yuga tells them Luke would never give up on a Duel. Luke Summons "Sportsdragon Slugger" and then activates its effect to Special Summon "Sportsdragon Pitcher", before Tributing them both to Tribute Summon, chanting "Burn up this coldhearted world with your blazing flames! Super dragon of super phantoms! Super-Super Advance Summon! Super-super-super... come on out! Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias!" Romin believes Luke will be able to use the effect of "Miragias" to reduce the ATK of "Divinebreath" by 1500 and attack twice, but Asana tells her Luke can't, as "Miragias" can only weaken Level 7 or lower monsters and "Divinebreath" is Level 9 and Gavin wonders in shock why Luke Summoned it. But then Luke Summons "The Dragon" and then he activates "Fusion", chanting "Now, the third and fourth dimensions have collided, opening the door to the seventh dimension!" as he fuses "Miragias" with "The Dragon", then chants "Gaze upon the new and miraculous seventh dimension! Gaze upon the new and miraculous seventh dimension! When I say it twice, it becomes a super-ultra seventh dimension! Fusion Summon! High Dragon Type! Hazy Strike Dragon Miragiastar F!"

Tiger looks up at the new Fusion Monster in shock as it stands with 3000 ATK, and Luke sends "Benevolent Dragon" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate the Multi-Choice Effect of "Miragiastar F", reducing the ATK of all monsters Tiger controls by 1500 and then allowing "Miragiastar F" to attack monsters twice this turn. Romin cheers Luke's monster's name and Gavin gasps that he did it; he found an effect that works on the Level 9 "Divinebreath". Asana points out that Tialina will still have LP, but Luke activates a Spell Card, "Charging Clash", forcing him and Tiger both to send two cards from the top of their Decks to the Graveyard (Luke sending "Ancient Arise Dragon" and "Volcano Attack Dragon" and Tiger sending "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" and "Straight Pierce") and explaining that they can both prevent the destruction of a monster once this turn, then they increase the ATK of a monster they control by 100 times the total Levels of any monsters they sent. They both sent Level 7 monsters, but Tiger only sent one and Luke sent two, so Divinebreath" powers up to 2200 ATK and "Miragiastar F" to 4400. Gavin incredulously asks why Luke would increase the ATK of Tiger's monster, but to his confusion, both Vance and Yuga have spotted what Luke's up to. Yuga explains that "Divinebreath" will avoid destruction once, but "Miragiastar F" will be able to attack twice as a result, and Asana recalls the words "setup for certain victory", noting that Luke plans to take Tialina's claim of discarding everything to obtain victory and throw it back in her face. Tiger tells Luke to bring it on, vowing to show him what reality really is, and Luke orders "Miragiastar F" to attack with "Spatio-Temporal Breakdown Slash: Seven-Dimensional Illusion Strike", "Miragiastar F" blasting a green star of energy from its chest.

Tiger comments that Luke wanted a really cool victory, but here's a reality check. She activates a Trap Card, "Destruction of the Universe", paying 3000 LP and falling to 1000 to destroy "Miragiastar F", which explodes into particles. Tiger asks Luke how that was and Luke tells her he understands now, much to her surprise, and she asks what he understands. Luke claims Tiger also didn't know what to do they day she opposed them at the Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village and she was looking for a way out of reality too. Tiger gasps and asks what Luke's on about, and Luke vows he won't turn away or run from reality anymore. Gavin and Romin are shocked to see Luke so calm and Asana declares something is swelling within Luke. Luke declares his mind to be as clear as a serene lake and Tiger gasps as Luke declares they alone are the honored ones through heaven and earth.

He activates the Trap Card "Descending Dragon of Clear Water" and Tiger asks what it is in shock. Luke explained he can activate it if one of his monsters is destroyed by a card effect to Special Summon a Dragon Type monster from his Graveyard. He opens his eyes and chants "Right now, in my galaxy, seven supernovas unleash a gamma-ray burst! Even if you tell me to stop, it's too late! Even if you tell me to stop, it's too late! There's a reason I said it twice. Now, come on out! Multistrike Dragon Dragias!" As "Dragias" appears, Luke adds that it gains 1000 ATK as he has the High Dragon Type "Miragiastar F" in his Graveyard, increasing "Dragias" to 3500 ATK. As Tiger looks in shock at "Dragias", Luke closes his eyes and remembers Dueling her in his youth, and he thanks his sister, vowing to face the future and make his dreams into reality. He orders "Dragias" to attack with "Striking Light Blast of Explosive Supremacy" and it blasts the green orb at "Divinebreath", expanding to cover the field and wipe out Tiger's LP as she screams.

The green energy ball fades to reveal Tiger lying on the ground and everyone watches quietly as Luke removes his Duel Disk and Tiger sits up. Luke begins to tell his sister something, but suddenly energy begins raidating from his pocket and from Tiger's body. Yuga and Asana gasp that something is happening to Luke and Tiger's bodies and Vance yelps that it's happening to him too. Luke takes his watch out of his pocket, the energy radiating from its glowing face, and he asks if this is the cause and Romin asks what's happening. Then the crates around the room begin to shake and the faces of the watches inside them glow and energy surges from them. In the Nexus, Nail detects the energy surge and asks in shock what's causing it, and then alarms begin to sound and multiple 7s fill the air before being replaced by a blue infinity symbol. Aboveground at Goha #7 Elementary the ground shakes around the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club and then the surge of energy spills out of the staircase, exploding in a massive wave in the night sky and completely shutting down the power across Goha City.

In the underground warehouse the only sources of light are the still-glowing faces of the watches and Romin asks what just happened. Yuga asks if it was the Pauli effect but Gavin protests it was too large. Vance takes out a pocketwatch and explains this was the reason. He used a gear made of Gohanium in the watch to reach a level of precision compared to quartz in mechanical products. Asana gasps the metal's name in shock, and Luke and Tiger gasp in surprise as Vance explains the watch had a significant defect; in the hands of people with a certain quality, like the Kallister family, the defect caused a Pauli effect in the surrounding electronics, so that was why they sealed the remaining 7,770,000 watches in underground storage.

Nail appears on a flickering holoscreen, declaring he's regained a grasp on the situation. Gavin is shocked to see Nail and asks if the systems aren't all down, and Nail explains he's using reserve power for this call (namely, Buff Grimes and Kit Schrödinger pedalling on a bicycle). Nail confirms that the Hyper-Pauli effect shut down all of Goha's systems and brings up images of the Goha Duel Server on the moon, showing the Drones have ceased to function for now and this should by them some time until the power is restored. His holoscreen vanishes and Yuga, Romin, Gavin and Asana gasp happily, Gavin cheering that they did it and Romin tells Luke he's amazing. Luke promptly claims the devil within him has finally shown its devilish power and he tells it that it's amazing, despite Vance trying to protest it's just a watch.

Luke snaps out of his laughter and accuses Tiger of knowing what was going to happen and stringing him along, and Tiger comments that Luke really is a handful, though she didn't plan on losing to him (ignoring Vance's protests). Tiger pats Luke's head, telling him he's gotten strong, and Luke smiles happily, as do his friends, and they all burst out laughing as Vance continues to try impress upon Luke that his watch is responsible for the Pauli effect, not a devil. Tiger grabs Luke in a headlock, knocking their great-grandfather aside and telling her little brother she won't let him run away with the win and to fight her again. Luke is shocked to see Tiger is crying even as she headlocks him and Tiger tells him to be quiet, she's just frustrated over losing to her little brother. Gavin, Asana, Romin and Yuga watch as Vance muses that Luke previously claimed he didn't want to be a cog of society, but tells him not to forget those cogs and gears saved Dueling today...but his great-grandkids are still struggling with each other and Vance protests he was saying something really cool just now. Luke ignores him and calls for a rope break, and Asana runs over to tell them to break it up, counting to four, upon which Tiger briefly releases Luke, only to grab him again and get Asana to count again as Gavin, Romin and Yuga laugh. Yuga notes they've stopped the Drones, but they aren't out of the woods yet and Romin notes they have to tackle the problem at the source to truly stop it. Gavin wonders what they should do and Asana stops counting and turns away from the Kallisters, stating there's only one thing they can do. The Kallisters stop fighting and everyone looks at Asana in surprise.

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Tiger
Tiger's hand contains "Tiger Glare", "Destruction of the Universe", "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" and "Flutomahawk the Music Princess". Tiger draws "Digisoon the Music Fiend". Tiger Normal Summons "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" (1000/1200) and "Flutomahawk the Music Princess" (1500/0). Tiger Tributes "Brassaxophone" and "Flutomahawk" to Tribute Summon "Digisoon the Music Fiend" (2400/2000). Tiger Sets two cards.

Turn 2: Luke
Luke draws "Pot of Greed". Luke activates the Spell Card "Pot of Greed", drawing two cards. He draws "Descending Dragon of Clear Water" and "Multistrike Dragon Dragias". Luke Normal Summons "Triad Drago" (300/1300), "Draco the Tiny" (0/1400), and "Sportsdragon Pitcher" (0/1000). As Tiger controls a Level 7 or higher monster and Luke controls two non-Level 3 Dragon Type monsters, Luke activates the effect of "Triad Drago", drawing a card. He draws "Pheptanix Dragon". Luke Tributes "Draco the Tiny" and "Sportsdragon Pitcher" to Tribute Summon "Multistrike Dragon Dragias" (2500/1500). Luke activates the effect of "Dragias", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to allow it to declare a second attack this turn if it destroys a monster Tiger controls by battle. He sends "Steel Strike Dragon Metagias" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard. Luke Normal Summons "Pheptanix Dragon" (700/700). As Luke controls a Level 7 or higher Dragon Type monster, he activates the effect of "Pheptanix Dragon", adding a Level 7 or higher monster from his Graveyard to his hand. He controls the Level 7 "Dragias", so he adds the Level 7 "Metagias" from his Graveyard to his hand. Luke's hand contains "Metagias", "Descending Dragon of Clear Water" and "Undulating Barrier". Luke Tributes "Triad Drago" and "Pheptanix Dragon" to Tribute Summon "Steel Strike Dragon Metagias" (2500/1500). Luke Sets two cards. "Dragias" attacks "Digisoon", but as a monster Luke controls declared an attack while Tiger controls a Level 7 or higher WIND Warrior Type monster, she activates her Set Trap Card "Tiger Glare", changing the attacking monster to face-up Defense Position, then choosing an Attack Position monster Luke controls to inflict damage to Luke equal to that monster's ATK, then destroy that monster. She changes "Dragias" to face-up Defense Position and destroys the 2500 ATK "Metagias" (Luke: 4000 → 1500 LP).

Turn 3: Tiger
Tiger draws "Boton the Music Princess", "Fusion", "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", and "Ophiclaymore the Music Princess". Tiger Normal Summons "Boton the Music Princess" (0/500). Tiger activates the Spell Card "Fusion", Fusion Summoning a monster from her Extra Deck using face-up monsters she controls as materials. Tiger fuses "Digisoon the Music Fiend" and "Boton the Music Princess" to Fusion Summon "Divinebreath the Orchestral Music Fiend" (3000/3000) in Attack Position. Tiger activates the effect of "Divinebreath", sending up to three monsters from her hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of "Divinebreath" by 1000 for each monster sent to the Graveyard by this effect and prevent it from being destroyed by Trap effects and allow it to inflict piercing battle damage if it attacks a Defense Position monster this turn. She sends "Trumpetonfa", "Nuncharinet", and "Ophiclaymore" from her hand to the Graveyard ("Divinebreath": 3000/3000 → 6000/3000). "Divinebreath" attacks "Dragias", but as a face-up Defense Position monster Luke controls was targeted for an attack, he activates his Set Trap "Undulating Barrier", sending the top five cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to decrease the ATK of the attacking monster equal to the combined Levels of the monsters sent to the Graveyard with this effect x 100. Luke sends the Level 7 "Piercing Dragon Bunker Strike", the Level 7 "Insurrection Dragon", the Level 7 "Shock Dragon", the Level 7 "Stock Buster Dragon", and the Level 7 "Dragonic Slayer" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Divinebreath": 6000/3000 → 2500/3000). The attack continues and "Dragias" is destroyed (Luke: 1500 → 500 LP).

Turn 4: Luke
Luke draws "Charging Clash", "Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias", "Fusion", "The Dragon", and "Sportsdragon Slugger". Luke Normal Summons "Sportsdragon Slugger" (1000/0). As Luke controls no other monsters, he activates the effect of "Slugger", Special Summoning "Sportsdragon Pitcher" from his Graveyard in face-up Defense Position, but he cannot declare attacks with Level 6 or lower monsters this turn. He Special Summons "Sportsdragon Pitcher" (0/1000) from his Graveyard. Luke Tributes "Slugger" and "Pitcher" to Tribute Summon "Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias" (2500/1500). Luke Normal Summons "The Dragon" (0/0). Luke activates the Spell Card "Fusion", fusing "Miragias" and "The Dragon" to Fusion Summon "Hazy Strike Dragon Miragiastar F" (3000/2000) in Attack Position. Luke activates the effect of "Miragiastar F", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to either have up to three face-up monsters Tiger controls lose 1500 ATK until the end of the turn and allow "Miragiastar F" to attack monsters twice this turn, or allow "Miragiastar F" to attack directly this turn. Luke sends "Benevolent Dragon" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard and chooses to have up to 3 face-up monsters Tiger controls lose 1500 ATK until the end of this turn and allow "Miragiastar F" to attack monsters twice this turn, choosing "Divinebreath" ("Divinebreath": 3000/3000 → 1500/3000).

As both players control one Attack Position monster and no other monsters, Luke activates the Spell Card "Charging Clash". Both players send the top two cards of their Decks to the Graveyard to prevent their monsters from being destroyed by battle once each this turn and each player's monster gains ATK equal to the combined Levels of the monsters sent to their Graveyards x 100. Luke sends the Level 7 "Ancient Arise Dragon" and the Level 7 "Volcano Attack Dragon" from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard and Tiger sends the Level 7 "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" and the Spell "Straight Pierce" from the top of her Deck to her Graveyard ("Miragiastar F": 3000/2000 → 4400/2000; "Divinebreath": 1500/3000 → 2200/3000). "Miragiastar F" attacks "Divinebreath", but as a monster Luke controls declared an attack, Tiger activates her Set Trap Card "Destruction of the Universe", paying 3000 LP (Tiger: 4000 → 1000 LP) to destroy the attacking monster. "Miragiastar F" is destroyed. As a monster Luke controls was destroyed by Tiger's card effect, he activates his Set Trap Card "Descending Dragon of Clear Water", Special Summoning a Dragon Type monster from his Graveyard, and if he has a High Dragon Type monster in his Graveyard, the Special Summoned monster gains 1000 ATK until the end of the turn. He Special Summons "Multistrike Dragon Dragias" (2500/1500) from his Graveyard in Attack Position, and he has the High Dragon Type "Miragiastar F" in his Graveyard ("Dragias": 2500/1500 → 3500/1500). "Dragias" attacks "Divinebreath" (Tiger: 1000 → 0 LP).
