Summary[edit]

Gakuto challenges Luke to a Rush Duel in an attempt to make him keep the school area tidy.

Featured Duel: Tatsuhisa "Luke" Kamijo vs Gakuto Sogetsu[edit]

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Luke
Luke activates the Field Spell "Mountain". Luke Sets one card.

Turn 2: Gakuto
Gakuto Normal Summons two copies of "Ancient Turtle Protector" (0/1400). Gakuto Normal Summons "Nandes the Fire Awakener" (1200/1000)[Notes 1]. Gakuto Tributes both copies of "Ancient Turtle Protector" to Tribute Summon "Yamiruler the Dark Delayer" (2500/2500). Gakuto activates the effect of "Yamiruler" since it was Normal Summoned this turn, allowing him to change its battle position to prevent either player from Tribute Summoning Level 7 or higher monsters while it is face-up on the field until the end of Luke's next turn. Gakuto switches "Yamiruler" from Attack Position to face-up Defense Position. Luke's hand contains "Multistrike Dragon Dragias", "Fire Guardian", and "Dragon Knight of Darkness". Gakuto activates the effect of "Nandes", allowing him to change a face-up Defense Position Warrior Type monster on his field to Attack Position. Gakuto switches "Yamiruler" from face-up Defense Position to Attack Position. "Nandes" and "Yamiruler" attack Luke directly (Luke: 4000 → 2800 → 300 LP).

Turn 3: Luke
Luke activates his Set "Dragonic Pressure", sending three Dragon Type monsters from his hand to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters on the field, and if a monster is destroyed by this effect, Luke can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dragon Type monster from his Graveyard to his field in face-up Defense Position. Luke sends "Draco the Tiny", "Dragon Knight of Darkness", and "Dragias" from his hand to the Graveyard, destroys "Yamiruler" and "Nandes", then Special Summons "Draco the Tiny" (0/1400) from his Graveyard to his field in face-up Defense Position. The effect of "Mountain" increases the ATK/DEF of all Dragon, Winged Beast, and Thunder Type monsters on the field by 200 ("Draco the Tiny": 0/1400 → 200/1600). Luke Normal Summons "Dragorite" (1500/0 → 1700/200). Luke Tributes "Draco the Tiny" to Tribute Summon "Fire Guardian" (2100/400 → 2300/600). "Dragorite" and "Fire Guardian" attack Gakuto directly (Gakuto: 4000 → 2300 → 0 LP).

Notes[edit]

  1. In the original version of this chapter, published in the December 2020 V Jump, Gakuto Normal Summons three copies of "Ancient Protector Turtle", and Tributes one of them to Tribute Summon "Nandes" instead. As "Nandes the Fire Awakener" is only Level 4 in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel card game and thus cannot be Tribute Summoned, this error was fixed when this chapter got released in Volume 1 of "Luke! Explosive Supremacy Legend!!".
