Summary[edit]

Gakuto challenges Luke to a Rush Duel in an attempt to make him keep the school area tidy.

Featured Duel: Luke vs Gakuto[edit]

Turn 1: Luke
Luke activates the Field Spell "Mountain", which grants all Dragon, Winged Beast, and Thunder monsters on the field 200 more ATK/DEF. He then Sets a card in his Spell & Trap Zone.

Turn 2: Gakuto
Gakuto Normal Summons 2 "Turtle Keeper of Traditions" (0/1400). He then Normal Summons "Battle Commander Nandes" (1200/1000)[Notes 1]. He then Tributes his 2 "Turtles" to Tribute Summon "Fiendish Commander Yameruler" (2500/2500). As it was Normal Summoned this turn, Gakuto changes "Yameruler" to Defense Position to activate its effect, preventing either player from Tribute Summoning Level 7 or higher monsters until the end of Luke's next turn while "Yameruler" remains face-up on the field. He then activates then effect of "Nandes", changing "Yameruler" to Attack Position, as it was a Warrior monster in Defense Position.

"Nandes" attacks Luke directly (Luke: 4000 → 2800 LP).

"Yameruler" attacks Luke directly (Luke: 2800 → 300 LP).

Turn 3: Luke
Luke sends 3 Dragon monsters from his hand to the GY to activate "Dragonic Pressure", destroying all monsters on the field, then, if at least 1 monster was destroyed by this effect, Luke and select and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Dragon from his GY in face-up Defense Position. He sends "Palm-Sized Drago", "Dragon Knight of Darkness", and "Dragias the Striking Dragon" from his hand to the GY, destroys Gakuto's "Yameruler" and "Nandes", and Special Summons "Palm-Sized Drago" (0/1400) in face-up Defense Position. Luke then Normal Summons "Dragolite" (1500/0). He then Tributes "Palm-Sized Drago" to Tribute Summon "Fire Guardian" (2100/400). Due to the effect of "Mountain", all Dragons on the field gain 200 ATK/DEF ("Dragolite": 1500/0 → 1700/200)("Fire Guardian": 2100/400 → 2300/600).

"Dragolite" and "Fire Guardian" attack Gakuto directly (Gakuto: 4000 → 2300 → 0 LP).

Notes[edit]

  1. In the original version of this chapter, published in the December 2020 V Jump, Gakuto summons 3 "Turtles" and then Tribute Summons "Nandes" instead, using one of the "Turtles" as a Tribute. As "Battle Commander Nandes" is only Level 4 in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel card game and thus cannot be Tribute Summoned, this error was fixed when this chapter got released in Volume 1 of "Luke! Explosive Supremacy Legend!!".
