Summary[edit]

Despite Luke's awakening of a new Summon, Neiru quickly shows him that there's more to what it takes. Now, if he wants to defeat the "King's Maximum", he must show that he is a true Duelist.

Featured Duel: Tatsuhisa "Luke" Kamijo vs Neiru Saionji[edit]

Duel continues from the previous chapter.

Luke has 1600 LP and controls "Great Multistrike Dragon Dragias Burst [L]", "Great Multistrike Dragon Dragias Burst", and "Great Multistrike Dragon Dragias Burst [R]" in Maximum Mode (3500 MAXIMUM ATK) and three Set cards in his Spell & Trap Zones. Neiru has 1300 LP and controls no cards.

Turn 3: Luke
Luke declares a direct attack with "Dragias Burst"; however, he learns it cannot attack directly with its effect. During the End Phase, "Dragias Burst" is shuffled back to Luke's Deck by its own effect.

Turn 4: Neiru
Neiru activates "Heavenly Gift", sending "Shrinker Shrimp", "Femtron" and "Yoctron" from his hand to the Graveyard to draw 2 cards. Neiru Maximum Summons "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor", "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor [L]", and "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor [R]", entering Maximum Mode (4000 MAXIMUM ATK). Luke activates his set "Dragon Encounter", Special Summoning "Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias" (2500/1500) from his hand in Defense Position. Neiru activates the effect of "Yggdrago [L]", sending 3 cards from his Deck to the Graveyard to destroy "Miragias". Luke activates "Dragon Enduro" in response, allowing him to Special Summon "Multistrike Dragon Dragias" (2500/1500) from his Graveyard in Defense Position. Neiru activates the effect of "Yggdrago [R]", sending 3 cards from his Deck to the Graveyard to switch "Dragias" to Attack Position. "Yggdrago" attacks and destroys "Dragias" (Luke: 1600 → 100).

Turn 5: Luke
Luke draws "Pot of Greed", "Dragon's Inferno", "Vengeful Dragon's Counterattack", "Muddy Ball", and "Mountain". Luke activates "Pot of Greed", drawing "Dragias Burst [L]" and "Muddy Dragon" (600/???), the latter of which he Normal Summons. Luke activates the effect of "Muddy Dragon", sending "Dragias Burst" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to draw "Phoenix Dragon" (500/500), which Luke proceeds to Normal Summon. Luke activates the effect of "Phoenix Dragon", allowing him to send a card from his hand to the Graveyard to add "Dragias Burst" from his Graveyard to his hand. Luke then activates "Muddy Ball", sending "Muddy Dragon" and "Phoenix Dragon" from his field to the Graveyard to draw 2 cards. Luke Maximum Summons "Dragias Burst", "Dragias Burst [L]", and "Dragias Burst [R]", entering Maximum Mode. He sends the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard the effect of "Dragias Burst [L]", allowing it to attack thrice this turn. Additionally, he activates the effect of "Dragias Burst [R]", sending 3 cards from his hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of "Dragias Burst" by 1000 ("Dragias Burst": ATK 3500 → 4500). Luke activates his face-down "Dragonic Stitch", shuffling 3 monsters from Neiru's Graveyard into the Deck, and preventing "Yggdrago" from being destroyed by battle this turn. Luke attacks "Yggdrago" thrice with "Dragias Burst" (Neiru: 1300 → 800 → 300 → 0).
