Yuma and Astral are a playable duo of Legendary Duelists in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links who appear in Duel World (ZEXAL). This is a video game depiction of Yuma Tsukumo and Astral, characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime and manga.

Their Character Unlock Missions appear once the player reaches Stage 9 in Duel World (DM); the Character Unlock Mission requires the player to use 2 Level 4 monsters during a single Duel. Unlocking Yuma and Astral also unlocks Duel World (ZEXAL) as a result.

Red Gate Keys are required to Duel them at the Gate.

By using a "ZEXAL" Skill, Yuma and Astral can transform into ZEXAL, which changes their appearance and voice lines.

Description[edit]

Yuma Tsukumo's dream is to become a Duel Champion, and meeting the highly-talented Astral from Astral World just might be the ticket! They would be the perfect tag team... if they could only get along! Still, they need to work together if they want to gather Numbers - which are manifestations of Astral's lost memories. To make that happen, Yuma is ready to feel the flow and take on any challenger! Their ace monster is "Number 39: Utopia".

ZEXAL[edit]

When Yuma and Astral's souls are in sync, they can ZEXAL Morph and combine into one. With the power of ZEXAL, they can Shining Draw—allowing them to generate the very card they need in a Duel.

Dialogue[edit]

Character-specific[edit]

Because ZEXAL is treated as a different character from Yuma and Astral, character-specific victory and defeat lines will not play at the end of the Duel if Yuma and Astral transform.

ZEXAL Morph
  • When fulfilling the conditions of a "ZEXAL" skill, Yuma announces "It's time to high-five the sky!", then Astral announces "And feel the flow!", then Yuma and Astral announce "We build the Overlay Network!", then Astral announces "When two souls become one, the power of ZEXAL is revealed!" Afterward, a cutscene showing Yuma and Astral transforming into ZEXAL plays afterward, followed by them declaring "ZEXAL Morph!"
Reginald "Shark" Kastle
  • When starting a Duel against Reginald "Shark" Kastle, Yuma says "Shark! You're gonna learn you got nothin' on me!"
    • When they win the Duel, Yuma announces "I did it! I beat Shark! I'm feelin' the flow!"
Bronk Stone
  • When starting a Duel against Bronk Stone, Yuma says "Don't expect me to go easy on you, Bronk!"
    • When they win the Duel, Yuma says "How's that, Bronk! That's the Dueling of a future champion!"
    • When they lose the Duel, Yuma says "I didn't high-five the sky. I high-fived the ground."
Kite Tenjo
  • When starting a Duel against Kite Tenjo, Yuma says "Kite! Get set to get decked!" followed by Astral saying "Defeating him will be a challenge, but a worthy one."

Card-specific[edit]

Monsters
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Number 39: Utopia", Yuma announces "Rise on up! Number 39: Utopia!" If its Summoning animation has not already played this Duel, a cutscene of "Number 39: Utopia" being Summoned plays afterwards. If they are in ZEXAL form, the line is said by both Yuma and Astral.
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Attack, Utopia!", followed by "Rising Sun Slash!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's effect, Yuma announces "I use one Overlay Unit to activate Utopia's effect!", followed by "Light Wing Shield!"
  • Before Yuma and Astral Xyz Summon "Number C39: Utopia Ray" by its own procedure, Yuma announces "Chaos Xyz Evolution!", followed by "The protector who changes chaos into light!" When Yuma and Astral summon "Number C39: Utopia Ray" (by any method), a cut-in frame of Yuma and Astral briefly appears, and Yuma announces "Number C39: Utopia Ray!" If that player hasn't already Summoned "Number C39: Utopia Ray" during that Duel, a cutscene of "Number C39: Utopia Ray" being Summoned plays afterwards. While in ZEXAL form, the lines are said by both Yuma and Astral.
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Utopia Ray attacks!" followed by "Rising Sun Chaos Slash!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's effect, Yuma announces "I use an Overlay Unit to activate Utopia Ray's effect!" followed by "Overlay Charge!" While in ZEXAL form, both Yuma and Astral announce the latter.
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray", if that player hasn't already Summoned "Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray" during that Duel, a cutscene of "Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray" being Summoned plays afterwards. If they are in ZEXAL form, a cut-in frame of ZEXAL briefly appears before the animation and Yuma announces "I Special Summon a monster!"
    • Most of the time when ZEXAL attacks with that monster, Yuma announces "My monster attacks!"
    • When ZEXAL activates either of that monster's effects, Yuma announces "I activate my monster's effect!"
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Gagaga Magician", a cut-in of their faces appears and Yuma announces "I know I can always count on you! Gagaga Magician!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Gagaga Magician, attack! Gagaga Magic!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's effect, Yuma announces "Gagaga Magician changes its level until the end of the turn!"
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Gagaga Head", Yuma announces "Show yourself, Gagaga Head!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Attack, Gagaga Head!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's first effect, Yuma announces "Now, Gagaga Head! Activate your effect!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's second effect, Yuma announces "The Xyz Monster summoned using Gagaga Head uses its effect!"
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Gagaga Sister", Yuma announces "Gagaga Sister! Time to play!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Gagaga Sister attacks!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's first effect, Yuma announces "When Gagaga Sister is summoned, I can activate her effect!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's second effect, Yuma announces "Gagaga Sister has another effect!"
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Dodododwarf Gogogoglove", Yuma announces "Dodododwarf Gogogoglove! Join me!"
    • When Yuma and Astral activate that monster's first effect, Yuma announces "Here's Dodododwarf Gogogoglove's effect!"
  • When Yuma and Astral Summon "Gogogo Golem", Astral says "Wait! To use its effect to its full potential-" and Yuma says "Don't direct my Duel! I got this! Go, Gogogo Golem!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Go, Gogogo Golem! Gogogo Gust!"
  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Utopic Onomatopoeia", Yuma announces "Here comes Utopic Onomatopoeia!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Attack, Utopic Onomatopoeia!"

  • When Yuma and Astral summon "Zubaba General", Yuma announces "Zubaba General's coming to fight!"
    • Most of the time when Yuma and Astral declare an attack with that monster, Yuma announces "Zubaba General! Let 'em feel your blade!"
