Dark Matter Empire

The Dark Matter Empire (ダークマター帝（てい）国（こく） Dākumatā Teikoku) are an alien alliance introduced in the third season of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. They serve as the main antagonists for the series' ninth arc and are largely made up of the Darkmen.

Despite their name, the Dark Matter Empire are unknown to the Velgearians, and have had little contact with beings of the light. It is eventually revealed this is due to them being a new organization, having only been formed one month prior to their first encounters with the crew of Valvelgear. Even so, the Dark Matter Empire has full knowledge of Rush Dueling and Duel Disks.

History

The Dark Matter Empire were formed one month prior to their encounters with other beings. Fukamura was sent to retrieve Zuwijo zir Velgear's Deck and Duel Disk from Valvelgear, infiltrating the ship as it left Earth.

While travelling through space, Sabyuas encountered Valvelgear. Following it crash-landing on the Gradonium Mining Planet, Sabyuas encountered the Valvelgear CPT and infiltrated the ship, emerging from his hiding place to prevent Yuhi Ohdo from going to the bathroom simply to derive satisfaction from his minor suffering and challenging Yuhi to a Rush Duel over the matter. Yuhi defeated Sabyuas, who instructed CPT to repair the bathroom and informed Yudias Velgear of the existence of the Dark Matter Empire before departing.

When Valvelgear arrived at Nyakayoshi, Bruyea accosted the group, eager to acquire Nyandestar as one of his "mamas". Nyandestar and Bruyea Rush Dueled over the matter, and though Bruyea's claims of loneliness caused the initially hostile Nyandestar to empathize with him, his revelation she would be his tenth "mama" turned her against him, and she defeated Bruyea. Bruyea agreed to leave them alone for the time being, but hinted he would return. Bruyea returned in disgrace to the Dark Matter Empire's headquarters where he was admonished by Zeyet, who also went to Nyakayoshi to Duel the beings in light, fixating on the LIGHT-using Yudias in particular. However, despite Yudias himself encouraging her during their Rush Duel, she too was defeated, but Yudias congratulated her on a well-played Duel and befriended Zeyet. Zeyet returned to Bruyea at their headquarters to report their failure to Dark Meister. The Valvelgear crew also learned around this time of the recent formation of the Dark Matter Empire.

Afterwards, Fukamura successfully acquired Zuwijo's Deck and Duel Disk and revealed himself to the crew of Valvelgear, claiming he was after a particular curry bread from their storage and challenging them to a Rush Duel over the matter, promising to reveal a secret of the Darkmen if he lost. He was nominated to Duel Manabu Sogetsu by the ship's captain, Ehoko "Epoch" Kamijo, but was defeated. Fukamura revealed the harmless secret that the Darkmen all liked mochi before departing, giving no indication of his true objective and reporting his loss and success to Dark Meister.

Afterwards, Zuwijo himself was revived in Dark Matter Empire-controlled space and arrived at the Dark Matter Empire Castle, where he was subdued by Fukamura and brought before the other Darkmen. Zuwijo quickly subdued Fukamura, resulting in other Darkmen arriving to challenge him, but the Dark Meister dispelled the tensions and challenged Zuwijo to a Rush Duel after Kuyamuya returned Zuwijo's Deck and Duel Disk to him. Zuwijo was badly damaged by the effects of Rush Dueling in Dark Matter territory, but endured even after the Dark Meister defeated him with Contact Fusion and pledged himself to the organization.

Though he had joined the Dark Matter Empire, Zuwijo showed little interest in socializing with the other Darkmen, creating division among them. While Sabyuas was intrigued by Zuwijo, he overheard him being given a mission to secure the curry bread from Valvelgear and undertook the mission himself, travelling to Nyakayoshi and revealing himself to the crew to make his demand. While Sabyuas was prepared to Rush Duel Yuhi again, he instead Rush Dueled Epoch, attempting to emulate Zuwijo during the Rush Duel, but still losing to Epoch. Afterwards, he, Yuhi and Yudias discussed Zuwijo; Sabyuas had been unaware that he was emulating Zuwijo's speech patterns or that he had previously disappeared and informed the Valvelgear crew of Zuwijo's revival; Zuwijo himself arriving on Nyakayoshi shortly afterwards.
