Yes, I would replace the Rinyans with the suggested cards. This is just my opinion, but I would probably bring JD down to 1. I my experiences with Lightsworns, I actually ended up liking Gargonith more than Judgement Dragon, and his piercing effect is awesome. If you do bring JD down to one, you could probably replace it with something Darkness Metal can summon, like Darkblaze Dragon. I know he's fire, but his effect is worth abusing when he hits the field.

Revision as of 18:43, 4 November 2009

This deck was made for the user who asked for a combination between the Red-Eyes and the Lightsworns. This build was made in about 20 minutes, so I really need suggestions. There are barely enough Lightsworns to summon Judgement Dragon, and not enough big Dragons to summon with Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. Please add comments!

This deck currently has 42 cards, and is still untested. I am actually afraid to test it, because I am worried about how bad it would run, but here is the general strategy of the deck:

My Lightsworns take the first charge, starting out my first few turns by milling some big dragons. Once the graveyard is nice and full, Judgement Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and my other large beatsticks take the field, and when necessary, I try to set up a back-up plan with Return from the Different Dimension and D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation. Please add suggestions on my Red-eyes/Lightsworn deck!!!--Black Rose 01:05, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

  • Hmm...Tyrant Dragon might make a nice addition to the deck, as with a few Masked Dragons to summon your high-level dragons as fast as possible.--MrD

Hmm.... I might add in a Masked Dragon or two, but what to take out?--Black Rose 01:18, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

  • Decoy and Infernal. I've tried those before in other decks and they just aren't as worth it. If Decoy Dragon's on the field while you have a dragon in the graveyard that it can summon, what are the odds your opponent will attack it? (unless they've got a plan) Anyway, at least 2 Masked Dragons will do. --Bluedog (Talk) 01:23, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

I knew Infernal had to go, and I can live with Decoy gone, but now what will I summon with my Masked Dragons, other than the small little Red-Eyes B. Chick?--Black Rose 01:25, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

  • Another Masked Dragon. Let your opponent attack one, summon another, and if they attack that one, summon another (if you decide to go with three) or Chick. Then from there, you could summon REBD or REDMD (if you have them in your hand). --Blue (Talk) 01:28, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

I guess you're right. Since they're not Dark, I can live with getting rid of them for REDMD's removal cost. So I'll go with 3 Masked Dragons then, now what do you think of the Spell lineup?--Black Rose 01:30, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

  • It looks good, but I'm really just familiar with Red-Eyes decks, so I can't be sure about what spells are necessary for Lightsworns. Perhaps you could remove one Burial from a Different Dimension? Just one can do the job in most cases, especially since you have DDR and Return from the Different Dimension. --Blue (Talk) 01:37, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

I removed a single Burial, and my single Allure, since the Masked Dragons are Fire. I replaced them with two copies of Monster Reincarnation, since I think this will help get the monsters I need to be in the Graveyard to their proper place, along with the milled cards that I need in my hand. Comments?--Black Rose 01:43, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Red-Eyes Black Chick should not be in there. You could replace that with something like White Night Dragon, etc. Runer5h 02:02, November 4, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

I love White Night Dragon, but I just don't think it fits with the Red-Eyes part of the deck as much. I'm thinking of putting in a Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord instead, but I'm still having a problem with lvl 4 and under DARK Dragons....--Black Rose 02:07, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

  • Apart from Infernal Dragon and Rare Metal Dragon, there aren't too many of those in the TCG. Chick should stay, since as far as Level 4 or lower Dark Dragons go, it's the one that makes the most sense in this deck. --Blue (Talk) 02:41, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
  • From my experiences with dragon decks, I liked Dragon's Rage the best (It's a continuous trap card too!), although Stamping Destruction is worth a look as well.--MrD

Just a few thoughts...

In looking at typical Twilight decks, it appears they emphasize the Lightsworns more than the other cards (yes, I'm the troublemaker that started this idea). So you may want to de-emphasize the dragons, and up the Light sworns more. Here's what I've been playing with (and it's only a start):

This is by no means complete! I just threw in spells/traps common in Twilight decks, and the monsters could be tweaked some more. Still, I thought it was a good start. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon could summon out Judgment Dragon after all, if the conditions were met, right? Blizzard Dragon could be substituted for something else - maybe Debris Dragon to give you extra Synchro power.

This is getting fun !

Unfortunately, no. JD is Nomi, not Semi-Nomi, so it can only be summoned in the way that it says. But listen up, everyone... it's so obvious, and so brilliant! What's the LS card that is a non-nomi dragon? Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon! I think its buff effect could be very helpful, and it would combo well with Future Fusion.
As for Kung-Fu's idea, Pot of Avarice and DDR should be removed. You'll probably want a Burial from a Different Dimension or 2 instead. Also, if you use some Monster Reincarnations, you can combo them with Future Fusion to instantly get your hands on a copy of JD. Also, Rinyan should be exorcised from this deck - I'd replace it with 2 Gragonith and a Garoth. Runer5h 03:38, November 4, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

You mean, even if I have 4 or more "Lightsworn" monsters with different names in my Graveyard, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon can't special summon Judgment Dragon!?! I'd have never guessed that.

I was wondering about Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon, especially as I never saw him in any of the Twilight builds. I was also thinking that maybe adding Shire, Lightsworn Spirit might be a nice touch. With the same effect as Gragonith, she sure seems like she could become a major beatstick. And I still would like to get a Shiny Black "C" in there somewhere! Of course, that's just me ;-)

So, just to be clear - you wouldn't substitute 2 Gragonith for JD, but for Rinyan (along with a Garoth)? And, if we're keeping JD, would you keep 2 or cut it down to 1?

Kungfu-mama 05:01, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Update: I took the liberty of folding in Runer's suggestions into the above build. One thing I'm wondering about is the number of high-level monsters. Shouldn't there be something to dump these out of your hand in case you need to? And is Blizzard Dragon really the best choice here?

Made the changes suggested by Lord of Decoy Dragons.
BTW, Akiza, I REALLY like your deck. I've always been a sucker for Red-Eyes.

Wow, I really love that this is getting a lot of attention. Here are the changes I've made so far, based on everyone's suggestions.

This is what I ended up with. I added 2 Solar Recharges, and I think I have enough fuel for them. I also took out one JD, since with 2 Monster Reincarnations and two Beckoning Lights, I can reuse the same JD over and over. I took out one Lyla and the Ehren to put in 2 copies of Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon, since he combos so well with Future Fusion, and is an excellent target for REDMD. Keep up the flood of comments on this new version!--Black Rose 12:55, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
