Dragunity Arma, known as Dragunity Arms in the OCG, is a sub-archetype of the "Dragunity" archetype, released in Structure Deck 19: Dragunity Drive. Their name comes from the combination of the words Dragon and Unity like Dragunity monsters do, plus the word Arms that denotes an increase of power and their use of weapons. Currently, all the "Dragunity Arma" are Dragon-Type, WIND-Attribute monsters. Their appearance, as opposed to the other Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monsters, resemble humanoid Dragons with a second pair of feathery wings and wield weapons resembling the low level Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monsters.

Play Style

"Dragunity Arma" monsters abilities seem to be directed to the quick Swarm, even despite their levels, they all have effect that allow them to be Normal or Special Summoned with ease, and one advantage of this sub-Archetype is that their second effect is activated even when they are Special Summoned, and these effects involve the act of equipping Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monsters as Equip Spell Cards from the hand or Graveyard. This effect allows them to recycle the effects of many "Dragunity" Dragon monsters in the Graveyard, which is why cards like "Foolish Burial" are highly recommended.

Laevatein Rider

You can make a loop with "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" and "Light and Darkness Dragon". When you Summon "Leyvaten", equip "Light and Darkness Dragon" to it. Whenever it or "Light and Darkness Dragon" is destroyed, your field will be destroyed by the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon". Then you may use the other effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon" to Special Summon "Leyvaten" from your Graveyard and re-quip "Light and Darkness Dragon" to it. The only weakness in this loop is cards that can remove the two monsters from play, or send them back to the hand or Deck, or if a card, that destroys "Layvaten" is chained to its effect, such as "Raigeki Break".
