  • This is one of few TCG/OCG Xyz Monsters that doesn't use its Xyz Materials directly. However, because it mimics the effects of Xyz Monsters, it may use the Xyz Materials with the copied effects.
  • Of all the revealed single-digit "Numbers", only this card's number does not equal its Rank.
  • This is so far the only card that causes a monster to be treated as having no name, although only in the anime.
  • This card's name, number and appearance has many references to DNA:
    • A genome is the DNA or RNA information encoded in every organism, referencing this card's ability to "inherit" another monster's name.
    • This card number could be a reference to the DNA itself as this molecule is formed by pairs (hence the 2) of 4 types of nucleotides. 2x4=8
    • This card's number may be a reference to the shape of DNA. The number 8 looks similar to the double helix shape DNA often takes.
    • Also its "hair" on its card artwork somewhat resembles a chromosome, which is the organized structure of the DNA.
  • This card's appearance is reminiscent of Vetrix, who wears a mask with a red gem covering his left eye.
    • In this instance, the purple number "8" is covering the monster's left eye.
  • This card's sealed form resembles an ancient mask with straw hair. When it unseals, blue energy spreads and forms the legs and hairs.
  • When this monster detaches an Xyz Material to activate its effect, it absorbs it through its mask.
    • Then, it wraps its hair around the selected monster and absorbs the appearance and the color of the monster. The card absorbs red material and then glows red as it changes its appearance to resemble a masked version of the targeted monster.
  • This card's ability to steal everything about the monster and leave them with nothing is similar to its owner's ability to steal memories from people.
  • This is the first Psychic-Type "Number" monster, and the first standard "Number" with specific Xyz Materials.
  • So far, "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" is the only monster this card targeted with its effect, but did not copy the appearance - even after copying both the monster's ATK and effect.
  • It seems that this card is a reference to the forest spirit, a kirin-like creature, from the awarded anime movie Princess Mononoke.
