"Toon Mermaid" was Special Summoned by Tributing "Red Archery Girl" when Toon World was on the controller's side of the field. Toon Mermaid could not be destroyed by battle with non-Toon monsters or by card effects. If Toon World is destroyed, Toon Mermaid is destroyed too, but Red Archery Girl is Special Summoned back to the field.
- In episode 36, Maximillion Pegasus uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He uses "Toon World" to transform "Red Archery Girl" into this card. After "Manga Ryu-Ran" attacks and destroys Yugi's set "Giant Soldier of Stone" and the former went back into "Toon World", Pegasus switches this card into Attack Position. Yugi then Normal Summons "Celtic Guardian" and uses the latter to attack this card, but this card destroys "Celtic Guardian" since Toon monsters can only be destroyed by other Toon monsters. This card then went back into "Toon World". In the next episode, "Toon Summoned Skull" attacks "Dark Magician", but Yugi activates "Living Arrow" to activate "Magical Neutralizing Force Field's" effect and destroy "Toon World". This causes this card to revert back into "Red Archery Girl".
Scripted Duels
- In the non-canon duel YCS Providence 2012 Special: Mai, Joey and Yugi vs. Pegasus and Bakura, Pegasus uses this card against Joey Wheeler. After Pegasus Normal Summons "Red Archery Girl" on his first turn, "Toon World" turns it into this card. The next turn, Joey attacks this card with "Axe Raider", although this card is not destroyed by battle and takes no battle damage as this card is protect so long as "Toon World" is active. On two later turns, this card attacks and destroys two of Joey's "Sheep Tokens". On the final turn, this card is Tributed for the cost of Pegasus' "Toon Cannon Soldier".
- In North American WCQ 2015 Special: Pegasus vs. Marik, Pegasus draws this card on the sixth turn. The same turn, he Special Summons this card in Attack Position via its own effect. After that, this card's presence on the field is used for the activation requirement for Pegasus' "Mimicat". The next turn, this card on Pegasus' side of the field is Tributed for the Tribute Summon of Marik's "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode".
