• This card was the last of the 3 infamous "Chaos" monsters to be set as Forbidden in Advanced Format; its status was Unlimited prior to the September 2006 Lists. It is currently Semi-Limited as of the January 2014 ban list.

• This card's status on the Forbidden/Limited List has changed seven times, the second highest amount for any card behind "Nobleman of Crossout" which was eight.

• This card was nicknamed "the poor man's Chaos" due to its common rarity, as opposed to being Secret Rare like the two Envoys.

• The two orbs in its hands symbolize LIGHT and DARK.

• This monster's appearance is based off of "Dark Magician of Chaos" and "Magician of Black Chaos".

• This card has a "Lightray" counterpart; "Lightray Sorcerer".
