"Duel For Redemption", known as "Damaged Pride" in the Japanese version, is the one-hundred-and-twenty-fourth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. It first aired in Japan on August 25, 2010 and in the United States on July 2, 2011.

The Duel between Team 5D's and Team Ragnarok begins. Jack and Dragan, both Teams' First Wheelers, who have a past and fated connection to one another, betting their pride on the line, as the battle becomes intense from the first turn onward.

Featured Duel: Jack Atlas vs. Dragan

Turn 1: Jack
(Jack's SPC : 0; Dragan's SPC : 0) Jack's hand contains "Reaction Summon", "Burning Rebirth", "Power Breaker", "Barrier Resonator" and "Trap Eater". Jack draws and Normal Summons "Top Runner" (1100/800) in Attack Position and Sets two cards.

Turn 2: Dragan
(Jack's SPC : 1; Dragan's SPC : 1) Dragan's hand contains "Garmr of the Nordic Beasts", "Guldfaxe of the Nordic Beasts", "Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts", "Solemn Authority" and "Magical Hammer of Mjöllnir". Dragan draws "Nordic Relic Brisingamen", Normal Summons "Garmr" (800/1900) in Attack Position and Sets a card.

Turn 3: Jack
(Jack's SPC : 2; Dragan's SPC : 2) Jack Normal Summons "Power Breaker". He tunes the Level 4 Tuner monster "Top Runner" with the Level 4 "Power Breaker" to Synchro Summon the Level 8 "Red Dragon Archfiend" (3000/2500) in Attack Position. "Red Dragon Archfiend" attacks "Garmr", but Dragan activates his face-down "Nordic Relic Brisingamen", increasing the ATK of "Garmr" to be equal to the ATK of "Red Dragon Archfiend" (800 → 3000). If "Garmar" destroys a monster by battle this turn, the ATK of the destroyed monster will be inflicted to Jack as damage. As a monster's ATK was changed, Jack activates his face-down "Reaction Summon", Special Summoning "Top Runner" from his Graveyard (1100/800) in Attack Position. Its effect increases the ATK of Jack's face-up Synchro Monsters by 600 ("Red Dragon Archfiend" 3000 → 3600), so "Garmr" is destroyed (Dragan 4000 → 3400). As a monster Dragan controls was destroyed by battle, Dragan Special Summons "Tanngnjostr]" (800/1100) from his hand in Defense Position via its own effect. "Top Runner" attacks "Tanngnjostr", whose DEF is equal to the ATK of "Top Runner". This prevents "Top Runner" from being destroyed by the effect of "Red Dragon Archfiend". Jack Sets a card.

Turn 4: Dragan
(Jack's SPC : 3; Dragan's SPC : 3) Dragon switches "Tanngnjostr" to Attack Position. As its battle position was changed, its effect activates, letting him Special Summon a "Nordic Beast" monster from his hand or Deck. He Special Summons "Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts" (1200/800) from his Deck. As his opponent controls a Synchro Monster, he Special Summons "Guldfaxe" from his hand via its own effect. Dragan tunes the Level 4 Tuner monster "Guldfaxe" with the Level 3 "Tanngnjostr" and the Level 3 "Tanngrisnir" to Synchro Summon "Thor, Lord of the Aesir" (3500/2800) in Attack Position. Dragan activates the effect of "Thor", negating the effect of "Top Runner" until the End Phase and letting Thor use the effect as its own. Therefore, its ATK increases by 600 (3500 → 4100). "Thor" attacks and destroys "Red Dragon Archfiend" (Jack 4000 → 2900).

Duel continues in the next episode.
