Zoroa (ゾロア Zoroa) is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga. He is the character version of the card "Zoroa, the Magistus of Flame".

Personality
Zoroa is a calm and powerful mage. He was once a caring individual, who even helped create Graybeard for shunned magic users. However his quest to learn the truth of magic caused him to compromise on moral principles, resulting in him acting manipulatively and losing empathy for others.
Many of these traits are a result of the life he led before the present. Years ago, Zoroa had been shunned and feared for his magic. Upon discovering his power, his own mother would keep him under a cellar, causing him to lead a lonely childhood with none understanding him. After his mother perished, he would encounter further discrimination by many others who saw him as a monster or a tormented him. It's because of this that during his early years, Zoroa refused to use magic and believed he should never use it to remain human. Even rejecting assistance from Spoon when they first met when the latter tried using magic to help Zoroa.
However, through exposure and forming a bond with Spoon, Zoroa slowly developed past this mindset. Soon gaining a desire to understand the nature of his magic after years of shunning this side of him. After running away together from their school, Zoroa joined Spoon in finding a new land to make Greybeard. He trusted Spoon greatly, both with his power, and as a friend. Confiding with him the terrible dreams he has due to this trust.
Zoroa also loved his mother greatly. Despite her actions towards him, he kept her hairpin as a memento. As such, when a group of bullies discarded it, instead of continuing to endure their torment, Zoroa, for the first time, acted against them in rage and used his magical power as an act of revenge and only stopped when Spoon was hurt.
Abilities
Zoroa is a powerful mage and is very intelligent. He is capable of many spells and holds great power that puts him on par with the three Magistus. When Endymion assumes his flame-based magic is power obtained from another world, Zoroa states that it is merely the true extent of his original power. As many years ago, he willingly parted with much of his magical power through a charm Spoon gave him, weakening him. As a result of being forced to carry heavy loads during his teenage years, Zoroa possesses greater physical strength than the average human.
Many of Zoroa's dreams alongside Spoon's words suggest that Zoroa's immense magical power comes from elsewhere. Upon looking through the Theurgy, it's implied this power comes from the spirit Vahram.
Zoroa's spells include:
- Teleportation: Zoroa can appear in another location as a small flame before showing himself.
- Levitation: Can float a few meters in the air with his magic.
- Absolute Flame Divine Lance: An attack composing of a fire spear that Aleister claims it is incomparable to the other Magistus' own magic.
