Anime[edit]

  • In episode 11, Scorch uses this card during his Tag-Team Duel with Chills against Yuma Tsukumo and Shark. He Xyz Summons this card by overlaying "Flamesaurus" (who was Level 5 through its Flip Effect) and "Baggy Pants Lavasaurus". Scorch then activates this card's effect to destroy Shark's "Submersible Carrier Aero Shark" and inflict its ATK as damage to Shark by detaching one Overlay Unit. Scorch then activates this card's effect to destroy Yuma's "Zubaba Knight" and inflict its ATK as damage to Yuma by detaching its remaining Overlay Unit. In the next episode, this card attacks Shark directly, but Shark activates "Zeus' Breath" to negate the attack. Later Chills activates the effect of "Number 19: Freezerdon" to attach "Flamesaurus" and "Baggy Pants Lavasaurus" to this card from the Graveyard as Overlay Units. Later Shark activates the effect of "Black Ray Lancer" to detach "Needle Sunfish" and negate this card's effects until the End Phase. Shark then activates the effect of "Needle Sunfish" to reduce this card's ATK by 500. "Black Ray Lancer" then attacks this card, but Chills activates "Compensation Exchange" to negate the attack and inflict this card's ATK to himself as damage instead. Later Scorch activates this card's effect to destroy "Black Ray Lancer", but Yuma activates "Damage Diet" to halve all effect damage he and Shark take this turn. Shark then activates "Icy Crevasse" to destroy this card and inflict its original ATK as damage to Scorch (as he's its owner), but Chills activates "Forced Change" to change the target to "Freezerdon", destroying it instead and defeating Chills. Scorch then activates this card's effect to destroy "Number 39: Utopia" and inflict its ATK as damage to Yuma, but the damage is halved. This card attacks directly, but Shark activates "Final Offering" to end the Battle Phase. On the last turn of the Duel, "Black Ray Lancer" (who had the name and ATK of "Utopia" through "Armored Xyz" and under Yuma's control through "Monster Reborn") attacks and destroys this card. Yuma then activates the second effect of "Armored Xyz" to send "Utopia" to the Graveyard and allow "Black Ray Lancer" to attack again. After Yuma and Shark win, Astral absorbs this card and "Freezerdon" from Scorch and Chills, removing the influence of the "Numbers" over them.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, Scorch is shown holding this card when he explains to Weasel that the recently acquired "Numbers" that he and Chills obtained will help them steal the super rare deck at the museum. Later in the same episode, Scorch and Chills show their respective "Numbers" after Yuma shows "Utopia" and discover that their acquired cards are "Number" monsters.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Astral has when he realizes that Scorch and Chills cheating was also why Scorch purposely switched "Pompadour Blizzardon" to Defense Position so that Chills could use "Frozen Ice Cave" to raise his monster's Level for an Xyz Summon.
  • In episode 22, this card is amongst the "Numbers" shown in the Emperor's Key with Astral after Orbital 7 steals the key from Yuma's locker and Shark is forced to take it in order to prevent Orbital 7 (and later Kite Tenjo from taking it).
  • In episode 23, this card is amongst the "Numbers" shown in the Emperor's Key when Kite finds Astral.
  • In episode 25, this card appears in a flashback Astral has when he tells Yuma he was bit shaken as well due to Kite nearly succeeding in defeating him and taking his "Numbers". Astral also states he couldn't believe he actually managed to enter the Emperor's Key.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Yuma has when he remembers that the museum is where he and Shark both had a Tag Duel together and Astral remembers it's also where they got the fifth and sixth "Numbers" from.
  • In episode 37, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Astral has when he notes the "Numbers" are pieces of his memories and he wonders what he really is.
  • In episode 67, Dr. Faker uses Sphere Field to absorb this card along with every "Number" Yuma and Vetrix had in their possession after Yuma defeats Vetrix.
  • In episode 68, this card is amongst the "Numbers" floating through the Sphere Field.
  • At some point between episode 73 and episode 74, Astral absorbs this card along with every "Number" that Dr. Faker had in his possession.
  • In episode 89, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against the Shadow Giant. He Xyz Summons this card by overlaying "Ganbara Lancer" (due to the effect of "Ganbara Lancer", it is treated as two monsters for the Xyz Summon). After the Shadow Giant activates the effect of "Unformed Void" to increase its ATK by the combined ATK of all Xyz Monsters Yuma controls, Yuma activates this card's effect to destroy "Unformed Void" and inflict its ATK as damage to the Shadow Giant by detaching "Ganbara Lancer", but it doesn't work due to "Overlay World" preventing Xyz Monsters from being destroyed by card effects. On Yuma's next turn, he switches this card to Defense Position. Later "Unformed Void" (whose ATK was 7600 through its own effect twice) attacks and destroys this card since "Unformed Void" can negate monster effects that prevent destruction by battle effects.
  • In episode 112, this card is shown in Yuma's explanation to Mr. Heartland when he explains that to him and Astral the Numbers represent what they everything fighting for.
  • In episode 146, this card appears in the montage of "Numbers" in the Summoning sequence of "Number 99: Utopic Dragon".
  • This card's effect name is "Mag Max" in the Japanese version and "Magma Max" in the dub.
