  • This card was first shown in the Opening Theme "BELIEVE IN NEXUS" covered in a blue glow, until after its debut.
  • When summoning "Shooting Star Dragon", Yusei chants "Clustering crystal dreams open the door to a new evolution! Become the path its light shines upon! Accel Synchro! Be Born, Shooting Star Dragon!"
  • This card first appeared in Episode 107 in Monster form, then later in stone tablet form.
    • It is of note that the stone tablet wasn't written in any "real" language and that the Attribute symbol didn't fit with any of the actual seven Attributes. Instead it has the Japanese Kanji and Chinese for king indicating that being undeclared in its card form, it's just showing it's from a higher power.
  • The attack name of this card is Stardust Mirage in the Japanese anime. In the dub, this card's attack is called Falling Star Slam.
  • Each time Yusei has activated this card's effect to check the top five cards of his deck for Tuner monsters, "Nitro Synchron" was found through this effect.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's[edit]

  • In episode 107, Yusei Fudo witnesses this monster after he achieves Clear Mind and obtains this card (in a blank form) from Z-one after going through a stone tablet. Jakob and Lester witness this and notice that this tablet isn't one of theirs. Later Yusei challenges Primo to a Duel. Before he can accept, Jakob and Lester contact Primo and tell him he needs to decline the Duel and return to their base as Yusei obtained a new power. However Primo felt they didn't believe he could beat Yusei and as such he cuts the connection and proceeds in merging with his Duel Runner.
  • In episode 109, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Primo. He Accel Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". Since "Stardust Dragon" left the field when it was targeted by the effect of "Meklord Emperor Wisel", the effect of "Meklord Emperor Wisel" resolves without effect as it has lost its original target. In the next episode, Primo activates the effect of "Speed World 2" to remove ten Speed Counters and destroy this card, but Yusei activates this card's third effect to banish it until the End Phase as well as allow Yusei to negate one attack this turn. On Primo's End Phase, this card returns to the field. On the last turn, Yusei activates this card's first effect to check the top five cards of his Deck and grant this card one attack for each Tuner Monster he finds. He finds five Tuner Monsters ("Nitro Synchron", "Junk Synchron", "Effect Veiler", "Debris Dragon", and "Hyper Synchron"), so this card gains five attacks. This card then attacks "Meklord Emperor Wisel", but Primo activates the first effect of "Skiel Carrier 5" to negate the attack. This card then attacks "Meklord Emperor Wisel" again, but Primo uses the first effect of "Wisel Guard 3" to redirect the attack to itself instead. Due to the second effect of "Wisel Guard 3", it is not destroyed. This card then attacks and destroys "Wisel Guard 3, "Wisel Attack 3", and "Skiel Carrier 5", winning Yusei the Duel.
  • In episode 122, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Taro Yamashita. He Accel Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". A replay then occurs and Taro uses "Zushin the Sleeping Giant" to attack this card. Due to the first effect of "Zushin", its ATK becomes equal to this card's ATK plus 1000 during the Damage Step, but Yusei activates this card's third effect to banish it until the End Phase. Taro then activates "Fool's Dice" to inflict damage to Yusei equal to this card's Level times 200. Since this card is Level 10, Yusei takes 2000 damage. On Taro's End Phase, this card returns to the field. On the final turn, this card then attacks "Zushin". Due to the first effect of "Zushin", its ATK becomes equal to this card's ATK plus 1000 during the Damage Step. Yusei then activates the effect of "Monster Baton" to send "Earthquake Giant" from his hand to the Graveyard and activate the effect of "Blackwing - Boreas the Sharp" as the effect of "Monster Baton" ("Zushin" can't negate this effect as this effect is not coming from "Shooting Star Dragon"). Due to the effect of "Boreas the Sharp", this card is not destroyed and Yusei takes no Battle Damage. After damage calculation, "Zushin" is destroyed. Yusei then activates "Explosive Breakout" to decrease this card's ATK by 800 and allow it to attack again. This card then attacks directly, winning Yusei the Duel.
  • In episode 129, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Halldor. He Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". Yusei then activates "Speed Spell - Star Force" to banish "Fenrir the Nordic Wolf" (who Halldor summoned to Yusei's side of the field via its own effect) and increase the ATK of this card by the Level of "Fenrir" times 100 until the End Phase. Since "Fenrir" is Level 10, this card gains 1000 ATK. Yusei then activates this card's effect to check the top five cards of his Deck and grant this card one attack for each Tuner Monster he finds. He finds three Tuner Monsters ("Junk Synchron", "Nitro Synchron", and "Turbo Synchron"), so this card gains three attacks. This card then attacks and destroys the three "Aesirs". On Yusei's End Phase, the effect of "Speed Spell - Star Force" expires. Later "Odin, Father of the Aesir" attacks this card, but Yusei activates this card's third effect to banish it until the End Phase and negate the attack. Halldor attempts to attack with "Thor, Lord of the Aesir" or "Loki, Lord of the Aesir", but Yusei activates "Zero Force" to reduce the ATK of the Aesirs to 0 (as their ATK was more than or equal to this card's ATK). On Halldor's End Phase, the last effect of "Gjallarhorn" activates, banishing it and the three Aesirs from the field and inflicting the combined ATK of the Aesirs as damage to Yusei, but since their combined ATK was 0, Yusei takes no damage. After that resolves, this card returns to the field. This card then attacks directly, winning Yusei the Duel.
  • In episode 130, this monster is with Yusei as he and Halldor come back to the stadium. Halldor's Rune Eye sees this card, Yusei, the Signers and the Crimson Dragon as allies. Halldor then states to Yusei he doesn't carry a destiny of destruction, but a destiny that can lead people in the right direction.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Leo has when he reveals to Carly that Jack and Yusei have obtained new powers for the battle against Iliaster.
  • In episode 133, this card appears in Crow Hogan's explanation when he tells Jakob that he and his friends will always fight alongside their Synchro Monsters.
  • In episode 134, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Jakob. He Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". Yusei then activates this card's first effect to check the top five cards of his Deck and grant this card one attack for each Tuner he finds. Yusei finds five Tuners ("Drill Synchron", "Debris Dragon", "Nitro Synchron", "Quickdraw Synchron", and "Effect Veiler"), so this card gains five attacks. This card then attacks "Granel Attack 3", but Jakob uses the effect of "Granel Guard" to treat "Red Nova Dragon" as an Attack Position monster in his Spell & Trap Card Zone and redirect the attack to it instead. Yusei then activates "Synchro Striker Unit", equipping it to this card and increasing its ATK by 1000. Jakob then uses the effect of "Granel Carrier" to prevent "Red Nova Dragon" from being destroyed, however he still takes Battle Damage. As Jakob took damage, the ATK of "Meklord Emperor Granel" decreases by 800. This card then attacks "Granel Attack 3" again, but Jakob uses the effect of "Granel Guard" to treat "Red Nova Dragon" as an Attack Position monster in his Spell & Trap Card Zone and redirect the attack to it instead. This card then destroys "Red Nova Dragon". The ATK of "Meklord Emperor Granel" then decreases to 10400. This card then attacks and destroys "Granel Attack 3" and "Granel Top". This causes the ATK of "Meklord Emperor Granel" to decrease to 4100. This card then attacks and destroys "Meklord Emperor Granel". This in turn destroys "Granel Guard" and "Granel Carrier" since "Meklord Emperor Granel" was no longer on the field. On Yusei's End Phase, the last effect of "Synchro Striker Unit" then activates, decreasing this card's ATK by 800. The Three Pure Nobles, at this point, merge together to become Aporia.
  • In episode 135, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Aporia. Later Aporia activates the effect of "Meklord Astro Mekanikle" to equip this card onto it, but Yusei activates this card's third effect to banish it until the End Phase and allow Yusei to negate one attack, however Aporia activates the second effect of "Mekanikle" to send "Granel Guard 3" from his hand to the Graveyard and give "Mekanikle" the effects of "Granel Guard 3" until the End Phase. Aporia then activates the "Granel Guard 3"-granted effect of "Mekanikle" to negate this card's effect. The effect of "Mekanikle" then continues, equipping this card onto it and increasing its ATK by this card's ATK. On Aporia's End Phase, he activates the final effect of "Mekanikle" to send this card to the Graveyard and inflict damage to Yusei equal to its ATK, but Yusei activates "Wild Tornado" to destroy this card and prevent Aporia from activating the final effect of "Mekanikle". Later Yusei Tributes "Salvagent" in order to revive this card in Defense Position as well as negate its effects and make this card not be treated as a Synchro Monster while on the field. In the next episode, "Mekanikle" attacks this card, but Yusei activates "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" to negate the attack, however Aporia activates the "Wisel Attack 5"-granted effect of "Mekanikle" to negate and destroy "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow". Yusei then activates "Revenge Twin Soul" to banish "Red Nova Dragon" and "Black-Winged Dragon" from his Graveyard and increase the DEF of this card by 2000 (the increase is equal to the combined Levels of the banished monsters times 100 until the End Phase), causing the attack to fail. On Yusei's End Phase, the effect of "Revenge Twin Soul" expires. After Yusei activates "Dimension Voyage" to Special Summon the banished "Red Nova Dragon" and "Black-Winged Dragon", he switches this card to Attack Position. Yusei then activates "Trust Chain" to target this card for its effect and increase this card's ATK by the ATK of all Synchro Monsters on the field. This card then attacks "Mekanikle", but Aporia activates "Banishing Climb" to banish "Red Nova Dragon" and "Black-Winged Dragon". Yusei then destroys "Trust Chain" in order to end the Battle Phase. Later "Mekanikle" (whose ATK was 10300 due to it being equipped with "Red Nova Dragon" and "Black-Winged Dragon") attacks this card, but Yusei banishes "Guard Master" from his Graveyard in order to switch this card to Defense Position and prevent it from being destroyed in battle this turn. On Aporia's End Phase, he activates the last effect of "Mekanikle" to send "Red Nova Dragon" to the Graveyard and inflict its ATK as damage to Yusei, but Yusei activates "Hardship" to equip the latter to this card and reduce the ATK and DEF of this card to 0 as well as reduce all effect damage he would take from the effect of "Mekanikle" to 0 this turn. Later Yusei activates the final effect of "Hardship" to send it to the Graveyard and destroy this card as well as destroy all Equip Cards on the field. After Yusei activates "Ghoul Summoner" to revive "Black-Winged Dragon" and equip "Ghoul Summoner" to "Black-Winged Dragon", Yusei activates the last effect of "Ghoul Summoner" to revive "Red Nova Dragon" and this card as well as take damage equal to the revived monsters' ATK, however Yusei uses the effect of "Black-Winged Dragon" to place two Black Feather Counters on itself and nullify the damage he takes. In the following episode, this card then attacks and destroys "Mekanikle" (whose ATK was 2600 due to the second effect of "Black-Winged Dragon"), winning Yusei the Duel.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in Luna's explanation when she and Bruno explain that "Red Nova Dragon" and "Black-Winged Dragon" were supposed to be banished via "Dimension Voyage" during the End Phase, but because "Banishing Climb" banished them and returned them to the field, that effect was voided completely for both monsters, meaning Aporia can use them as targets for the effect of "Meklord Astro Mekanikle".
  • In episode 144, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Antinomy. He Accel Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". This card then attacks and destroys "T.G. Metal Skeleton". In the next episode, "T.G. Halberd Cannon" attacks this card, but Yusei activates this card’s third effect to banish it until the End Phase, however Antinomy activates the third effect of "T.G. Halberd Cannon" to negate the effect of this card and decrease its ATK by 800. Yusei then activates "Enduring Soul" and activates its effect to decrease the ATK of this card by 800 after damage calculation in order to prevent its destruction. On Antinomy's next turn, "T.G. Halberd Cannon" attacks this card, but Yusei activates this card’s third effect to banish it until the End Phase, however Antinomy activates the third effect of "T.G. Halberd Cannon" to negate the effect of this card and decrease its ATK by 800. Yusei then activates the effect of "Devoted Gardna" to send it from his hand to the Graveyard and reduce the Battle Damage he would take to 0. Yusei then activates the effect of "Enduring Soul" to decrease the ATK of this card by 800 after damage calculation in order to prevent its destruction. After Yusei Normal Summons "Balance Blaster", he banishes "Necro Defender" from the Graveyard in order to nullify all Battle Damage he takes from battles involving this card this turn. With that all done, Yusei activates this card’s first effect to look at the top five cards of his Deck and grant this card one attack for each Tuner Monster he finds. Yusei finds three Tuner Monsters ("Turbo Synchron" "Nitro Synchron", and "Hyper Synchron"), so this card gains three attacks. This card then attacks "T.G. Halberd Cannon" three times. Yusei then activates the effect of "Enduring Soul" three times to decrease the ATK of this card by 2400 after damage calculation and prevent its destruction. Yusei then activates the effect of "Balance Blaster" to negate the decreases and inflict damage to Antinomy equal to the amount of ATK that this card would have lost, winning Yusei the Duel.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Bruno has when he notes that by being Yusei's friend and watching Yusei encouraging everyone to fight alongside him, he was able to feel the power of infinite possiblities.
  • In episode 149, this card appears in Z-one's backstory when he explains how he became Yusei and why he wanted to destroy Neo Domino City to change the future. This backstory reveals that Z-one had used this card while he was in Yusei's form. He demonstrated to the people of New Domino City that removing their negative emotions can help save the future and stop the Meklords by performing Clear Mind and using this monster to stop the Meklords. Unfortunately Z-one was too late as the negativity from people's emotions caused the Ener-D reactor to overload and create many explosions which killed many people in the process. Believing he couldn't save anyone like Yusei did, he crumpled up this card out of anger.
    • In the same flashback, this card is shown on Z-one's computer when he is shown looking up Yusei's history.
  • In episode 151, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Z-one. He Synchro Summons this card via the last effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon". This card then attacks directly. Later "Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord" (whose ATK was 20000 due to its own effect) attacks and destroys this card (Due to the third effect of "Sephylon", the effects of this card are negated when "Sephylon" battled it). Yusei then activates "Converging Wishes" to negate the Battle Damage he would take and Synchro Summon "Stardust Dragon".
  • In episode 154, Yusei uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Jack. He Accel Synchro Summons this card by tuning "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron". Yusei then activates this card's first effect to check the top five cards of his Deck and grant this card one attack for each Tuner Monster he finds. Yusei finds three Tuner Monsters ("Debris Dragon", "Drill Synchron", and "Nitro Synchron"), so this card can attack three times. This card then attacks and destroys "Crimson Blader". Yusei chooses not use his last two attacks as he knows "Red Nova Dragon" has 6000 ATK. Later "Red Nova Dragon" (who was equipped with "Red Cocoon", which negates this card's effects when "Red Nova Dragon" attacks it) then attacks this card, but Yusei activates "High and Low" to allow himself to send the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard up to three times. For each monster that is sent this way, this card will ATK equal to the ATK of the sent monster. If this card's ATK exceeds the ATK of "Red Nova Dragon", it will be destroyed. Yusei sends the first top card of his Deck to the Graveyard and reveals it to be "Sonic Warrior", so this card gains 1000 ATK. Yusei then sends the second top card of his Deck to the Graveyard and reveals it to be "Speed Warrior", so this card gains 900 ATK. Jack believes that Yusei will let this card be destroyed and survive with 100 Life Points remaining, but Yusei declares that he will use the effect of "High and Low" one last time, which surprises Jack. Yusei notes that he knows the risks, but he can't beat Jack if he doesn't try. Yusei then sends the third top card of his Deck to the Graveyard and reveals it to be "Quillbolt Hedgehog", so this card gains 800 ATK. Both battling monsters then destroy each other in a Double KO. Jack then activates the last effect of "Red Cocoon" to Special Summon "Red Dragon Archfiend" from his Graveyard during the End Phase. Yusei then activates "Crush Star" to Special Summon "Sonic Chick" and "Sonic Warrior" from his hand and Graveyard.

Scripted Duels[edit]

  • In the non-canon duel North American WCQ 2011 Special: Yugi vs. Yusei. Yusei summons this card using "Formula Synchron" and "Stardust Dragon" as Synchro Material. Its presence increases the ATK of Yugi's "Buster Blader". "Shooting Star Dragon" attacks Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl", although the attack is negated by Yugi's "Magic Cylinder". The next turn, "Shooting Star Dragon" is attacked by Yugi's "Buster Blader", although Yusei targets "Shooting Star Dragon" with "Miracle Locus", allowing it to destroy "Buster Blader" by battle. The same turn. Yugi summons "Dark Paladin", and "Shooting Star Dragon's" presence increases the ATK of "Dark Paladin". The following turn, Yusei targets "Shooting Star Dragon" with "Battle Waltz", although "Battle Waltz" is negated by Yugi's "Dark Paladin". The same turn, "Shooting Star Dragon" attacks and destroys Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl". On the final turn, "Shooting Star Dragon" is attacked by Yugi's "Dark Paladin", and Yusei activates "Shooting Star Dragon's" effect to banish itself and negate the attack. This card played no further role in the duel.
