TCG Rulings
- If you cannot Summon the monster you targeted, you still can’t Normal Summon or Set that turn.[1]
- If you activate Trap of Darkness choosing this card, you cannot Normal Summon or Set a monster that turn.[1]
OCG Rulings
- This card cannot be activated during the Damage Step.[2]
- This card cannot be activated during a turn in which you have already Normal Summoned/Set a monster.[2]
- When resolving "Blackback", if the targeted monster is not Special Summoned, you still cannot Normal Summon/Set that turn.[2]
