Card Rulings:Brain Jacker
Contents
OCG Rulings
- If "Brain Jacker" is flipped and destroyed by battle, the effect still activates and starts a chain, but you cannot take control of an opponent's monster.[1][2]
- If "Brain Jacker" takes control of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" during the Damage Step, then "Gearfried the Swordmaster"'s effect activates during the Damage Step after switching control. The new controller activates the effect of "Gearfried the Swordmaster".[3]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- If you control "White Night Dragon" and a monster equipped with "Snatch Steal", when the equipped monster is attacked, you can send "Snatch Steal" to the Graveyard to switch the target of the attack to "White Night Dragon". A Replay will not occur.[4]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[5] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If this monster is attacked while face-down, and is destroyed as a result of battle, its effect does not activate. (Unlike "Kiseitai" because "Kiseitai" has an effect preventing damage calculation.)
- The effect of "Brain Jacker" that increases Life Points can be chained to.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Gearfried the Swordmaster: The effect of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" can activate even in the Damage Step. For example, if "Brain Jacker" is attacked by "Gearfried the Swordmaster", and "Waboku" was activated earlier in the turn, "Brain Jacker" will equip to "Gearfried the Swordmaster" and the effect will activate. In this case, the effect of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" will activate after the effect of "Brain Jacker" resolves, and the controller of "Brain Jacker" will select which monster to destroy.
