Card Rulings:Call of the Earthbound
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[1] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - "Call of the Earthbound" does not target. You decide which monster your opponent's attacking monster will attack when resolving "Call of the Earthbound".
- If "Call of the Earthbound" is chained to "Astral Barrier", "Astral Barrier" is applied. If "Astral Barrier" is chained to "Call of the Earthbound", "Call of the Earthbound" is applied.
- When multiple "Call of the Earthbound" are chained, only the last to resolve is applied.
- You can select the same monster your opponent had already declared as the attack target.
- The new attack target that you select must be a legal target for the attack. For example, you cannot change the attack target to one of your opponent's monsters.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Trap Monster: When you activate "Call of the Earthbound" and chain "Metal Reflect Slime", a replay will occur when "Metal Reflect Slime" is Special Summoned. If the opponent decides to attack with the same monster, you will select its attack target.
