Card Rulings:Cold Wave

OCG Rulings

  • This is a Spell Card that can be activated only as your first action at the start of the Main Phase 1 of your turn.[1]
  • The effect does not target.[1]
  • While this effect is being applied, until your next Draw Phase, neither player can activate or Set Spell/Trap Cards, also the effects of Spell/Trap Cards that activate on the field or in the Graveyard cannot be activated.[1]
  • The effects of Spell/Trap Cards that are applied without starting a Chain Link, such as those of Continuous Spells that are already face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone, remain applied.[1]

Previously Official Rulings

  • "Cold Wave" can only be activated when you start your Main Phase 1. If you activate any other effects or Normal Summon or Set a monster during your Main Phase 1, you cannot activate "Cold Wave".

Mentions in Other Rulings

  • Destiny Board: "Cold Wave" will prevent the effect of "Destiny Board" to bring a Spirit Message to the field for the turn "Cold Wave" is activated.
