TCG Rulings
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Swallow Flip: Similar to "Pulling the Rug," “Swallow Flip” can be activated when the effect of a monster on the field activates due to a different monster being Special Summoned. For example, it can negate and destroy "King Tiger Wanghu” on the field, or “Cyber Dinosaur” when its effect activates from the hand.
OCG Rulings
- If your opponent as the turn player Special Summons "Cyber Dragon" from their hand, since "Cyber Dragon" doesn't have an effect that activates when it is Special Summoned and there is no other face-up card whose effect must be considered in this scenario, if both players want to activate a card effect when it is Special Summoned (Set Quick-Play Spell Card or Trap Card, or activating a monster effect from the hand), they must do it in order starting from the turn player. So, if your opponent as the turn player Special Summons "Cyber Dragon" from their hand and activate "Torrential Tribute" as Chain Link 1, if you want to activate the effect of "Cyber Dinosaur", you must activate it by Chaining it to "Torrential Tribute".[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If your opponent Special Summons a monster from their hand while "Stumbling" is active, you can chain "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect to the effect of "Stumbling". "Stumbling's" effect will be Chain Link 1 and "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect will be Chain Link 2.
- If your opponent Special Summons a Machine-Type monster from their hand while "Cyber Summon Blaster" is active, you can chain "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect to the effect of "Cyber Summon Blaster". "Cyber Summon Blaster's" effect will be Chain Link 1 and "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect will be Chain Link 2.
- If you have 2 "Cyber Dinosaurs" in your hand when your opponent Special Summons a monster from their hand, you can only activate the effect of 1 of the "Cyber Dinosaurs".
- If "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" is Special Summoned from your opponent's hand with its effect when you inflict damage to their life points with a card effect, you can chain "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect to "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness'" damage inflicting effect.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Gorz the Emissary of Darkness: If you inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points with a card effect and your opponent Special Summons "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness", when the damage inflicting effect of your opponent's "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" activates, you can chain the effect of "Cyber Dinosaur".
Out of Date
- "Cyber Dinosaur's" effect is a Quick Effect.[Notes 1]
Notes
- ↑ This card's latest errata has PSCT, yet does not state "During either player's turn" or "(this is a Quick Effect)," thus rendering it a Trigger Effect.
