"Dawn of the Herald":

TCG Rulings

  • The effect to return a monster to your hand targets. It starts a Chain. Removing this card from play is a cost.[1]

OCG Rulings

  • The effect "You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal exactly 6" is applied when the activation of the card "Dawn of the Herald" resolves. (It does not target.)[2]
  • Tributing monsters and Ritual Summoning "Dawn of the Herald" from your hand are not considered to happen at the same time.[2]
  • When resolving the effect of "Dawn of the Herald", you can Tribute face-down Defense Position monsters in your Monster Zone.[2]
  • The effect "When "Herald of Perfection" is Ritual Summoned by this card's effect: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 of the monsters in your Graveyard that was Tributed for that Ritual Summon; return that target to your hand" activates in the Graveyard and starts a Chain Link. (It targets 1 monster in your Graveyard that was Tributed for the Ritual Summon of that "Herald of Perfection". Banishing "Dawn of the Herald" from the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect.)[2]
