Card Rulings:Descending Lost Star
TCG Rulings
- This card targets 1 Synchro Monster in your Graveyard.[1]
- If the Synchro Monster is flipped face-down while on the field, all effects of “Descending Lost Star” are wiped. The monster’s effects are re-applied, its Level and DEF are restored, and its battle position can be changed.[1]
- Effects like “Chorus of Sanctuary” can increase the DEF of the monster above 0.[1]
- “Descending Lost Star” only negates effects that apply or activate on the field. If the Synchro Monster has an effect that activates off the field, that effect is still applied.[1]
OCG Rulings
- This card targets 1 Synchro Monster in your Graveyard.[2]
- If "Chorus of Sanctuary" is active while "Descending Lost Star" is activated, then "Descending Lost Star" will first reduce the Synchro Monster's DEF to 0, and then the effect of "Chorus of Sanctuary" is applied and the monster has 500 DEF.[3]
- If a Synchro Monster that was Special Summoned by "Descending Lost Star" is flipped face-down with "Book of Moon" etc, then the effect of "Descending Lost Star" is not applied. The monster's effects are not negated, its Level/DEF return to their original values, and it can change its Battle Position.[4]
- When "Colossal Fighter" is Special Summoned by "Descending Lost Star", if he is destroyed by battle, then his effect is not negated because it activates in the Graveyard. You Special Summon a Warrior-Type monster.[5]
- If "Stardust Dragon" was Special Summoned by and has its effect negated by an effect like "Descending Lost Star" or "Synchro Change", then when it Tributes itself to activate its effect, the effect will still be negated even though "Stardust Dragon" is no longer face-up on the field. Thus, the effect of "Stardust Dragon" cannot negate the activation of an effect which destroys a card on the field.[6]
