OCG Rulings
- The effect that states there can only be 1 face-up "Double-Edged Sword" on your field does not start a Chain. (If you already have a "Double-Edged Sword" face-up on your field, you cannot activate another copy.)[1]
- This card's effect that increases the equipped monster's ATK by 2000 and makes both players take battle damage from battles involving the equipped monster does not start a Chain. (It is applied to the equipped monster.)[1]
- The effect that sends this card to the GY starts a Chain. (It does not target. It must be activated after damage calculation when you take 2000 or more battle damage.)[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: Can I equip "Double-Edged Sword" to a "Geomathmech Final Sigma" in the Extra Monster Zone?
- A: A "Geomathmech Final Sigma" in the Extra Monster Zone is unaffected by card effects, other than "Mathmech" card effects, but it can still be equipped with "Double-Edged Sword". In that case, it does not gain 2000 ATK. The effect that makes both players take battle damage from battles involving the equipped monster is applied normally, and if you take 2000 or more battle damage, the effect that sends "Double-Edged Sword" to the GY also activates and resolves normally.[2][3]
