- Fairy Archer: Even if you change the name of Fairy Archer with a card like Hero Mask you cannot activate its effect more than once per turn.
OCG Rulings
- If a monster whose original name does not include "HERO" is being treated as an "Elemental HERO" monster by the effect of "Hero Mask", "Mask Change" can be activated targeting that monster.[1]
- If "Hero Mask" is activated targeting a face-up "Elemental HERO Avian" you control, an "Elemental HERO Avian" cannot be chosen during the resolution of the effect. Therefore, if there are no "Elemental HERO" monsters in your Deck except "Elemental HERO Avian", "Hero Mask" cannot be activated targeting "Elemental HERO Avian".[2]
- If a Token Monster or "Embodiment of Apophis" is being treated as "Elemental Hero Neos" because of "Hero Mask", then you may select it as a target of "Wrath of Neos". If "Wrath of Neos" attempts to return the Token Monster to the Deck, then the Token Monster disappears instead, so "Wrath of Neos" does not destroy the cards on the field because you did not return the Token Monster to the Deck. If "Wrath of Neos" targets "Embodiment of Apophis", then "Embodiment of Apophis" is returned to the Deck, so all cards on the field are destroyed.[3]

- Fairy Archer: Even if you change the name of "Fairy Archer" by an effect like that of "Hero Mask", then you still can only activate its damage-inflicting effect once per turn.[4][5]
- Fairy Archer: If "Phantom of Chaos" copies "Fairy Archer" and activates its effect, then you still cannot activate the damage-inflicting effect again even if you change the name of "Phantom of Chaos" with the effect of "Hero Mask".[5]
- Rescue Rabbit: If you use "Hero Mask" to change the name of "Rescue Rabbit", then you still cannot activate its effect more than once per turn.[6]
- The Wicked Avatar: If you use "Hero Mask" to change the name of "The Wicked Avatar" to that of an "Elemental Hero" monster, then "The Wicked Avatar" does not consider itself when determining its ATK, so its ATK becomes 100 + that of the other monster on the field with the highest ATK.[7]
- Queen Dragun Djinn: If "Queen Dragun Djinn" had its name changed to the name of an "Elemental HERO" monster by the effect of "Hero Mask", the effect is applied to "Queen Dragun Djinn" itself as well.[8]

- Send 1 "Elemental Hero" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard when you resolve "Hero Mask".
- If you select a Monster Token and send "Elemental Hero Neos" to your Graveyard, you cannot return the selected Monster Token to your Deck to Special Summon a "Neos" Fusion Monster.
- If you select "Grandmaster of the Six Samurai" and change its name with "Hero Mask's" effect, and afterwards you Summon another "Grandmaster of the Six Samurai", when "Hero Mask's" effect disappears in the End Phase the Summoned "Grandmaster of the Six Samurai" is destroyed because you cannot control more than 1 face-up "Grandmaster of the Six Samurai".
- If you select a "Harpie Lady 1" with "Hero Mask" and send "Elemental Hero Neos" to your Graveyard, the "Harpie Lady 1's" name will be treated as "Elemental Hero Neos" and it can be returned to the Deck to Special Summon a "Neos" Fusion Monster.
- If you select an "Elemental Hero Neos Alius" that is being treated as a Normal Monster Card and change its name to "Elemental Hero Necroshade" with "Hero Mask", if you Normal Summon the "Elemental Hero Neos Alius", so it becomes an Effect Monster, its name will be treated as "Elemental Hero Neos".
