Card Rulings:Infernoid Devyaty
OCG Rulings
- "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand or Graveyard) by banishing 3 "Infernoid" monsters from your hand or Graveyard while the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 8 or lower, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways." is not treated as an effect. (It is a procedure to Special Summon a Special Summon Monster. Special Summoning this card using this procedure does not start a Chain Link.)[1]
- The "When this card is Special Summoned: You can destroy all Spell/Trap Cards on the field, except "Void" cards." effect is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
- The " Once per turn, during either player's turn, when another monster effect is activated: You can Tribute 1 monster; negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card." effect is a Quick Effect. (It does not target. Tributing 1 monster you control is a cost to activate this effect. It must be chained directly to the activation of the effect of a monster. It can be activated during either player's turn.)[1]
- If the effect of "Effect Veiler" is activated by sending itself from the hand to the Graveyard, the effect of "Infernoid Devyaty" can be activated. The activation of the effect of "Effect Veiler" is negated. (Since "Effect Veiler" is no longer in the hand, it is not banished.)[2]
- If the effect of "Tragoedia" is activated from the hand, the effect of "Infernoid Devyaty" can be activated. The activation of the effect of "Tragoedia" is negated, and "Tragoedia" is banished from the hand.[3]
- If the effect of "Electromagnetic Turtle" is activated by banishing itself from the Graveyard, the effect of "Infernoid Devyaty" can be activated. The activation of the effect of "Electromagnetic Turtle" is negated. (Since "Electromagnetic Turtle" is no longer in the Graveyard, it is not banished.)[4]
- If the effect of "Mystic Tomato" is activated from the Graveyard, the effect of "Infernoid Devyaty" can be activated. The activation of the effect of "Mystic Tomato" is negated, and "Mystic Tomato" is banished from the Graveyard.[5]
- When "Infernoid Devyaty" is Special Summoned and its effect is activated, all Spell/Trap Cards on the field are destroyed, except face-up "Void" Spell/Trap Cards. Since the name of Set Spell/Trap Cards cannot be verified, all Set Spell/Trap Cards are destroyed, including Set "Void" Spell/Trap Cards.[6]
"Infernoid" monster Rulings
OCG Rulings
- This card can only be Special Summoned by the procedure written on the card. Even after this card is Special Summoned, if it is sent to the Graveyard, it cannot be Special Summoned with "Monster Reborn".[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][1]
- If you control "Stargazer Magician" and "Timegazer Magician" in the Pendulum Zones and a "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" equipped with "Dragunity Phalanx", since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 8, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". (The Level of monsters in the Pendulum Zone and the Level of monsters treated as Equip Spell Cards do not affect the Special Summon of "Infernoid Antra".)[16]
- As long as you can fulfill the procedure written on the card, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra" using that procedure more than once per turn.[17]
- If you control no monsters, since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 0, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra".[18]
- While "Skill Drain" is active, even if the effect of all Effect Monsters you control are negated, if the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 9 or more, you cannot Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". (Whether the Effect Monsters have their effects negated or not do not affect the Special Summon of "Infernoid Antra".)[19]
- If you control a Level 8 "Qliphort Shell" and a Rank 8 "Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand", since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 16, you cannot Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". (It can only be Special Summoned if the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 8 or less.)[20]
- If you control a Level 7 "Infernoid Seitsemas", since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 7, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". After "Infernoid Antra" is Special Summoned, the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 9, but monsters you control are not destroyed. (Since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are no longer 8 or less, you cannot Special Summon more "Infernoid" monsters.)[21]
- Even if you control face-down monsters, if the total Levels and Ranks of all face-up Effect Monsters you control are 8 or less, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". (The Level of face-down monsters are not included.)[22]
- If you control 2 "Gigaplant" treated as Effect Monsters, since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 12, you cannot Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". If 1 "Gigaplant" or both copies are treated as Normal Monsters, since the total Levels and Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 8 or less, you can Special Summon "Infernoid Antra". (The Level of Normal Monsters are not included.)[23]
