- Q: "Lockout Gardna" is face-up on my field, and "Launcher Commander" is face-up on my opponent's field. In this situation, my opponent activates the effect of "Launcher Commander" by Tributing it, targeting my "Lockout Gardna". At this time, can I chain the effect of "Lockout Gardna"?
- A: In this scenario, although the effect of your opponent's "Launcher Commander" targets 1 Cyberse-Type monster on your field, that "Launcher Commander" was Tributed and is no longer on the field. Since the effect of "Lockout Gardna" must negate the effects of 2 monsters on the field, it cannot be activated if the opponent's monster is no longer on the field.[1]
- Q: "Lockout Gardna" and "Balancer Lord" are face-up on my side of the field, and "Evilswarm Bahamut" is face-up on my opponent's field. In this situation, when my opponent activates the effect of "Evilswarm Bahamut", targeting my "Balancer Lord", I chain the effect of "Lockout Gardna". If my opponent then chains "Book of Moon", and either "Evilswarm Bahamut" or "Balancer Lord" are changed to face-down Defense Position, how does the effect of "Lockout Gardna" resolve?
- A: The effect of "Lockout Gardna" negates 2 monsters' effects; your opponent's monster targeting a face-up Cyberse-Type monster on your field, and that targeted Cyberse-Type monster. As in this scenario, if either the opponent's monster activating its effect or the targeted Cyberse-Type monster on your field are changed to face-down Defense Position by "Book of Moon", the effect of "Lockout Gardna" is not applied. (Neither "Evilswarm Bahamut" nor "Balancer Lord" have their effects negated.)[2]
