Q&A Rulings
- Q: The only monsters on my opponent's field are a "Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon" and a Defense Position "Duel Dragon Token". In this situation, can I activate "Magic Gate of Miracles"?
- A: In this scenario, the only Attack Position monster on your opponent's field is "Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon", a Link Monster. Since Link Monsters cannot be changed to Defense Position, you cannot apply the effect of "Magic Gate of Miracles" that changes an opponent's monster to Defense Position. Therefore, you cannot activate "Magic Gate of Miracles" in this case.[2][3]
- Q: I activated "Magic Gate of Miracles" and took control of my opponent's "Stardust Dragon". Afterward, if "Book of Moon" is activated and that "Stardust Dragon" is changed to face-down Defense Position, which effects of "Magic Gate of Miracles" will be applied?
- A: Even if a monster you took control of with the effect of "Magic Gate of Miracles" is changed to face-down Defense Position, as in this scenario, control of that monster does not return to your opponent, however the effect that prevents that monster from being destroyed by battle no longer applies.[4][3]
