Card Rulings:Offerings to the Doomed
OCG Rulings
- If "Offerings to the Doomed" etc. is chained to "Urgent Tuning":[1]
- If all your Tuner monsters and/or all your non-Tuner monsters are destroyed, then it would be impossible to Synchro Summon regardless of the Synchro Monster (since you always need at least 1 Tuner and at least 1 non-Tuner), so the effect ends and you do not have to verify your Deck.
- If the total levels of monsters you control changes, then you still must Synchro Summon a monster, even if it is a different one than what you originally intended to Synchro Summon. If you do not have a Synchro Monster that can be Synchro Summoned with your monsters, then you must show your Extra Deck to your opponent to verify.
- If "Offerings to the Doomed"/"Raigeki Break"/etc is chained to the Spell/Trap Card-negating effect of "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8"/"Dark Paladin"/"Sorcerer of Dark Magic"/"Gladiator Beast Heraklinos" so that "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8" etc is not face-up on the field at resolution, then the Spell/Trap Card is neither negated nor destroyed.[2]
- If an effect like "Book of Moon" or "Offerings to the Doomed" is chained to the effect of "Naturia Barkion" so that "Naturia Barkion" is not face-up on the field during the resolution of its effect, then the effect of "Naturia Barkion" resolves without effect and the activation of the Trap Card is not negated.[3]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[4] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - Skipping your next Draw Phase is not a cost, so if your opponent chains "Magic Jammer" or "Imperial Order" to negate this card, you do NOT skip your next Draw Phase.
- If your opponent chains "Book of Moon" to flip the target of this card face-down, the monster is not destroyed and you will skip your next Draw Phase.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Fiend Skull Dragon: If your opponent Flip Summons a monster with a Flip Effect, and chains a card like "Offerings to the Doomed" to destroy "Fiend Skull Dragon", the Flip Effect will not be negated since "Fiend Skull Dragon" is no longer on the field when the Flip Effect resolves, and it will only negate Flip Effect "as long as this card remains face-up on the field".
- Last Turn: You can chain to the activation of "Last Turn" with..."Offerings to the Doomed"...to eliminate the opponent's monsters. If the player who activated "Last Turn" has no monsters on the field when it resolves, the effects of "Last Turn" are not negated. So the turn player still Special Summons a monster, although the special Battle Phase is not conducted, but the victory check in the End Phase is still performed.
- My Body as a Shield: "My Body as a Shield" will negate..."Offerings to the Doomed"...
- Reckless Greed: If "Reckless Greed" is activated, causing you to skip your next 2 Draw Phases, and you also must skip your Draw Phase due to another effect such as "Offerings to the Doomed", the skipped Phases do not accumulate. So if you activate..."Offerings to the Doomed", you only skip 2 Draw Phases.
