Card Rulings:Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon
OCG Rulings
- This card is treated as a "Red-Eyes" monster.[1]
- "You can Tribute Summon this card in Attack Position by Tributing 1 Zombie monster" is not treated as an effect.[1]
- When Normal Summoning this card this way, it can only be Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position. (It cannot be Set.)[1]
- When Tribute Summoning this card this way, it can also be Tribute Summoned by Tributing a face-down Defense Position Zombie monster in your Monster Zone.[1]
- The effect that Special Summons a Zombie monster is a Trigger Effect. (It can be activated at the end of the Damage Step in which "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" destroyed a Zombie monster by battle and sent it to the Graveyard. It does not target.)[1]
- This effect cannot be activated if "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" battles a Zombie monster with the same ATK and both monsters are destroyed.[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: If a Zombie monster on the field treated as a different Type due to the effect of "DNA Surgery" is destroyed by battle with "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon", can the effect of "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" be activated?
- A: The effect of "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" can be activated if it destroys a Zombie monster on the field by battle and that monster is still treated as a Zombie monster at the time it is sent to the Graveyard. Therefore, if a monster on the field treated as a non-Zombie monster is destroyed by battle with "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon", the effect of "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" cannot be activated.[2]
