Card Rulings:Sinister Sprocket
OCG Rulings
- This card's effect activates after the Synchro Monster is successfully Synchro Summoned.[2]
- If "Nitro Synchron" is used as a Synchro Material Monster because "Urgent Tuning" is activated at Chain Link 2+ to Synchro Summon a monster in the middle of resolving a Chain, then the effect of "Nitro Synchron" activates after the current Chain finishes resolving, without missing the timing. Similarly, if "Sinister Sprocket" or "Beast of the Pharaoh" is used for a Synchro Summon in the middle of resolving a Chain, then its optional effect can be activated after the current Chain resolves, without missing the timing.[3]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[4] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - When "Sinister Sprocket" is used as a Synchro Material Monster, if the Synchro Monster becomes a DARK monster when it is Synchro Summoned (due to "DNA Transplant", etc.), you can activate "Sinister Sprocket's" effect.
