Q&A Rulings
- Q: I activate "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" and Special Summon a "Sky Striker Ace Token" while I have 3 or more Spell Cards in my GY, so that its ATK and DEF become 1500. Afterward, if the effect of "Shrink" is applied to that "Sky Striker Ace Token", what happens to its ATK?
- A: When "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" resolves, the original ATK and DEF of the "Sky Striker Ace Token" are still 0 when you have 3 or more Spell Cards in your GY. When the effect of "Shrink" is applied, the Token's original ATK is halved, its current ATK becomes 0 as a result, and remains 0 even after the effect of "Shrink" expires. (Even if the effect of "Shrink" is applied, the Token's DEF remains 1500.)[1]
- Q: Can I activate 2 copies of "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" by chaining one to the other?
- A: "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" is a Quick-Play Spell Card that can only be activated while you have no monsters in your Main Monster Zone. In this scenario, if you have 2 copies of "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" in your hand, you can activate one and then chain the other. (You will Special Summon 2 "Sky Striker Ace Tokens" as a result.)[2]
- Q: While there are 2 Spell Cards in my GY, I activate "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" and Special Summon 1 "Sky Striker Ace Token". After it resolves, that "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" is sent to the GY, and I will have 3 Spell Cards in my GY. In this case, will the ATK and DEF of the "Sky Striker Ace Token" become 1500?
- A: The ATK and DEF of the "Sky Striker Ace Token" are determined when the effect of "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" resolves. Even if the number of Spell Cards in your GY changes afterward, the ATK and DEF of the "Sky Striker Ace Token" does not change. In this scenario, since you had 2 Spell Cards in your GY when "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones" resolved, the Token's ATK and DEF are both 0.[3]
