OCG Rulings
- The cards are removed from play face-up.[1]
- Discarding one card from your hand is a cost to activate the effect.[1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- When Special Summoning "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon"/"XYZ-Dragon Cannon"/etc, you cannot use "Goddess with the Third Eye" etc as a Fusion Substitute Monster.[2]
- "Armityle the Chaos Phantom" and "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by effects like "Call of the Haunted" or "Premature Burial", but only if they were sent to the Graveyard after being properly Special Summoned from the Extra Deck.[3]
- "Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo" and "Nightmare Penguin" do not have Flip Effects. Their effects will be activated by "Ceasefire".[4]
- If flipped by "Ceasefire", "Worm Linx"'s Flip Effect doesn't activate, so you do not draw a card during the End Phase.[5]

- When Special Summoning "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon"/"XYZ-Dragon Cannon"/etc, you cannot use "Goddess with the Third Eye" etc as a Fusion Substitute Monster.[6]
- "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" etc cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by "Premature Burial"/"Call of the Haunted"/etc, even if it was properly Special Summoned beforehand.[7]

 | These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[8] They were previously considered official, but may or may not necessarily hold true nowadays. |
- The following rules apply to "XYZ-Dragon Cannon", "YZ-Tank Dragon", "XY-Dragon Cannon", and "XZ-Tank Cannon".[9][Notes 1]
- These monsters cannot be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck except by the method described in their text. So they cannot be Special Summoned by the effect of "Magical Scientist" or "Summoner of Illusions". They cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard even after they have been Special Summoned by the method described in their texts.[9][Notes 2]
- You must remove from play the monsters specified; you cannot use "Goddess with the Third Eye", etc., because you are not performing a Fusion Summon.[9]
- You CAN remove a face-down "X-Head Cannon", etc., from play to Special Summon one of these monsters from the Extra Deck.[9]
- The Special Summoning of these monsters from the Extra Deck has no Spell Speed and cannot be chained to (but can be negated with "Solemn Judgment").[9]
Notes
- ↑ The following Rulings should apply also to "VW-Tiger Catapult" and "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon". They aren't mentioned in this Ruling because they were released after this Ruling was created.
