- This card can be searched by "Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres", "Hieratic Dragon King of Atum", "Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos", "Bystial Magnamhut", "Starliege Seyfert", "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms", "Masked Dragon", "Draconnection", "Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation", "Dragonic Guard", "Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze", "UFO Turtle", "Additional Mirror Level 7", "Chaos-End Master", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute using "Totem Dragon", "Keeper of the Shrine", "Flame Ruler" and "The First Monarch".
- Use cards like "Foolish Burial" or "Dragon Ravine" to more efficiently send this card to the Graveyard, so that later it can be Special Summoned to trigger its first effect.
- "Dragon Ravine" is especially good since it can discard any spare copies of this card that end up in your hand.
- "Paladin of Felgrand" can be very efficient in eliminating copies of this card from your Deck, by equipping them to itself. When that monster leaves the field, this equipped card will be sent to the Graveyard, where it can be Special Summoned to trigger its first effect.
- If another monster is on your field, this card can even be Special Summoned immediately by using the last effect of "Paladin of Felgrand" (assuming there was already a monster in the Graveyard that could have been targeted by that effect).
- Use cards like "Call of the Haunted", "Return of the Dragon Lords" or "Oasis of Dragon Souls" to easily Special Summon this card and trigger its first effect (preferably activating "Oasis of Dragon Souls" during your opponent's End Phase).
- In a Dragon-Type Deck, "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" is a good choice to trigger this card's first effect.
- If this card ends up in your hand, use cards/effects that discard to place it in the Graveyard.
- In a Dragon-Type Deck, "Divine Dragon Apocralyph" is a great choice for this, especially when retrieving a "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" that can subsequently Special Summon this card.

- Using "Future Fusion", 3 "Darkblaze Dragons" can be quickly dumped into your Graveyard, as well as 2 other Dragons.
