Card Tips:Royal Decree
- This card can be searched by "Pharaonic Advent", "The Despair Uranus", and other generic searchers.
- This card can be combined with cards that stop Spell Cards such as "Silent Swordsman LV7", "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8", "Dark Paladin" or "Spell Canceller" to create a lockdown. It also be combined with "Secret Village of the Spellcasters" if a Spellcaster Deck is used. Adding a "Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou" would negate Spells, Traps and also Effect cards destroyed by the equipped Monster Card.
- This card can spell doom for a Virus Control Deck.
- "Royal Decree" can still be destroyed with Trap Cards that are Chained to its activation such as "Dust Tornado".
- This is excellent in a beatdown Deck, as the most used Trap Cards are based in the Battle Phase.
- Combo this card with "Splendid Venus" and "Sky Scourge Invicil" to lockdown your opponent's Spells and Traps, but not yours.
- Combo this card with "Mist Valley Falcon" or "Darkness Neosphere" to use it as a reusable "Trap Stun" and Traps could still be used from time-to-time.
- When getting powerful monsters on to the field like "Judgment Dragon", it is a good idea to activate this card before the Summoning, so the effects of Traps like "Bottomless Trap Hole" can be prevented. That way, the field can be cleared and almost guarantee the effect/attack will land successfully. It's a good idea to use this tactic later in the Duel when it is ready to end the Duel, because your opponent has most likely exhausted their use of "Mystical Space Typhoon" or "Dust Tornado", which could Chain to the activation of "Royal Decree". Using this strategy too early is more likely to be countered. Keep in mind that there are a few cards that can counter the assault of your monster that are used for attacking, namely "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness", or even "Battle Fader". However, cards like "Sky Scourge Norleras" which cause both players to empty their hand can easily eliminate that risk.
- This card is excellent in a "Warrior Equip" Deck, which uses cards that can attack multiple times ("Mataza the Zapper" and "Armed Samurai - Ben Kei") and they cannot be stopped with Traps, because of this card.
- Placing this card as the only Trap Card in a Deck is very effective as it eliminates the need for others, while only affecting your opponent.
- There are some Quick-Play Spell Cards that could be used instead of Traps, such as "Shrink" for attacks, "My Body as a Shield" to stop destruction. "Forbidden Chalice", "Forbidden Lance" and "Forbidden Dress" can work both ways.
- This is surely effective while used in combo-oriented Decks that have many combo pieces required or have long combo-play sequences, such as "Karakuri", "Wind-Up", "Vylon" and "Gem-Knight".
- It should be recommended that this card be activated after your opponent activates a dangerous Trap like "Mirror Force". That way, back up Traps in reserve can be kept and use them on your opponent's turn.
- It's highly recommended at least have your back up Traps Set due to the fact that this card is highly vulnerable to destruction and Traps are hard to recover.
- Using this card with "Arcana Knight Joker" eliminates the need for Trap Cards for the effect of "Joker", so focus on having your Monsters and Spells.
- On top of negating the primary effect of "Fairy Box", it can cancel out the LP cost for it and effectively forcing your opponent to send it to the Graveyard.
