• Dante Alighieri was a real-world Italian poet, best known for his epic poem The Divine Comedy, in which the author undertakes a mystical odyssey through the Christian afterlife. This card appears to portray the fictionalized Dante as he appears in the first 33 of those poems (collectively titled Inferno) which depicts Dante's journey through the nine layers of Hell.

• This card's LIGHT attribute may be a reference to Dante's ultimate fate in Paradiso, where he ascends through Heaven for an encounter with God and Christ in the Empyrean realm.
