Card Trivia:Reaper of the Cards
- This monster appears in the artwork of "Double Tribute".
- This card appears in the second original anime artwork and OCG/TCG artworks of "Card of Demise".
- This card is one of the few monsters whose ATK or DEF is not divisible by 50. The others are "Castle of Dark Illusions", "Sword Arm of Dragon", "Dark Chimera", "King of Yamimakai", "Barox", and "Number S39: Utopia Prime". Notably, PaniK had all of these cards minus "Number S39: Utopia Prime" and "Sword Arm of Dragon" in his Deck, and Summoned them all during his Duel with Yugi Muto.
- The ATK digits, in individual kun'yomi pronunciation, can be read as: 1 = hi 3 = mitsu 8 = ya 0 = ma; the DEF digits, in individual on'yomi pronunciation, can be read as: 1 = i 9 = ku 3 = sa 0 = re - put together, this produces the Japanese phrase "himitsu yama, ikusare" (秘密山、行くされ, loosely "you are going to the secret mountain"). In Japanese folklore, death gods, called shinigami, are known to possess people and lead them to mountains, seas, and railroads where people have died.
- This card is one of the first five Effect Monsters to be released in the OCG, with the other four being "Armed Ninja", "Hane-Hane", "Man-Eater Bug", and "Skelengel".
- This card's OCG/TCG artwork is taken from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel 82 (Duelist Duel 23): "Defeat the Darkness!", specifically from the panel showing this monster right before it "attacks" Dark Yugi's Set Trap Card, which Dark Yugi baited the Player Killer of Darkness into doing.
- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, "Reaper of the Cards" can destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field with its effect.
- The Spanish Dark Beginning 1 print of this card has two different texts. It includes the words "destruyela" ("destroy it") and "devuelvela" ("return it") instead of "destrúyela" and "devuélvela".
