"Celestial", known as "Heavenly Halo" (てんりん Tenrin) in the Japanese version, is an archetype of cards used by Rex Goodwin in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's manga.

Design[edit]

All members of the archetype have a large halo in their backs, and their bodies have a robotic-looking angelic appearace. Their names are composed of "Celestial (occupation)".

Playing style[edit]

The members of this archetype focus on swarm and lockdown tactics. Cards like "Celestial Undertaker" and "Celestial Bowman" swarm low Level monsters in order to Synchro Summon low-Level Synchro Monsters, ultimately swarming up the field with "Celestial Double Star Shaman" for Synchro Summons up to Level 10. Goodwin uses this archetype with his "Celestial Conquering Dragon - Drago Ascension", using the latter's last effect and "Celestial Bell Tower" in order to create a loop, protecting "Ascension" from destruction and Summoning it back while drawing more cards.
