About using Ally Genex Birdman's Effect on returning a monster (not Doom), when Koa'ki Meiru Doom is on the Field.
  • What happens? Will Birdman return the monster as cost, then stay in your hand as it's negated (and not destroyed)?
I will prefer it if ATEMVEGETA or Deus Ex Machina were to answer this just to be certain. Falzar FZ 05:08, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

it is not destroyed. And you can say that for sure, 100% ;)

The card text doesn't state anything of destroying. It just says it negates light and dark monsters, not destroying.

If an effect also destroys something it has to state it. -dest- 09:42, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

This is part of the God Bird of Doom FTK, you can click the page to read more about it.--Hide Head Turtle 10:10, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

I created that article..... I was double checking the combo since PoirotH was doubting it a bit. So, my question is, Will Birdman stay in your hand, so you can use it again. Falzar FZ 11:20, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, lol. This is weird. Sorry about that. Well, I guess your question is answered.--Hide Head Turtle 11:52, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

... well, I should have said. Can I have a judge confirm that my statement is true? Falzar FZ 11:55, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
You activate Ally Genex Birdman's effect and return 1 face-up monster from the Field to your Hand as a cost. Then, when the effect resolves, it will be negated by Koa'ki Meiru Doom's Continuous Effect.
Since Special Summoning Ally Genex Birdman from the Hand is part of the Effect, and since the effect is negated, Ally Genex Birdman will remain in the Hand, and you can activate his effect again (as long as you have face-up monsters to return for the cost).
The monster that was returned to the Hand by the cost will remain in the Hand since costs cannot be refunded even if the effect is negated.

Thank you. It's precisely what I was after. A nice, detailed explanation that covers every part of the Effect and Costs. Falzar FZ 13:42, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

well, I'm not a judge, but it is as I said, at least according to this ruling I found: (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Gorz_the_Emissary_of_Darkness)

Light and Darkness Dragon: "Light and Darkness Dragon" will also negate the effect of a monster which activates in the hand. The monster will not be sent to the Graveyard.

it is the same thing here, the card is only negated, not destroyed and so not sent to the grave.

edit: oh well, the search took too long... doesn't matter, i'll simply post it^^ -dest- 13:52, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
