What happens when you synchro summon blackrose dragon and use his effect to destroy the field and my opponent chain's book of moon and target's blackrose dragon? Am I required to call priority if his effect is to go through? — This unsigned comment was made by 76.185.42.197 (talk • contribs) 16:18, 10 August 2009
Well, Book of Moon does not negate an effect, so i belive Black Rose's effect still goes through. Fawlker 16:30, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
So do I have to call priority in order for his effect to go through? Also what happens if they activate compulsory evacuation device? — This unsigned comment was made by 20:55, 10 August 2009 76.185.42.197 (talk • contribs) 20:55, 10 August 2009
- When "Black Rose Dragon" is Summoned, its effect activates automatically. You do not use Priority. Your opponent cannot activate "Book of Moon" or "Compulsory Evacuation Device" before the effect activates - if he tries to, then he is not playing properly.
- If "Black Rose Dragon" is not face-up on the field when resolving its effect, then the effect resolves properly. Like most other monster effects, "Black Rose Dragon" does not need to remain face-up on the field for its effect to resolve properly.
- Also, remember to sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~, since that automatically creates a signature for you.

so since its effect activates automatically, "Black Rose Dragon"'s "When this card is synchro summoned" optional trigger effect, if not used by its controller, resolves without effect because it always activates automatically upon its successful synchro summage? is this also the case with other similar cards?

- No! If you choose not to activate an optional trigger effect, then its effect does not go on the chain. If you choose to to activate its effect, that means you have already activated an effect so the priority is passed to your opponent to chain something. If you choose not to activate its effect, then you have the priority to activate an effect first. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 06:33, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
does this also mean that you cannot activate Book of Moon on one of your own monsters to prevent it from being destroyed? 75.20.150.251 02:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- You can chain Book of Moon to Black Rose Dragon's effect (after the opponent passes priority back to you) but it's useless because the face-down monster will still be destroyed by Black Rose Dragon's effect. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 11:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
