Forum:Burn Deck Help

Hey, I have recently got back in to YuGiOh after a four year break and built a wall/burn deck. I, personally, prefer to play the defensive side when it comes to dueling, though I do like an offensive deck now and then. I bought the Invincible Fortress and with some cards bought and given to me I made my deck.

MONSTERS

  • Hieracosphinx x 1
  • Zero Gardna x 1
  • Bowganian x 1
  • Medusa Worm x 1
  • Guardian Sphinx x 1
  • Hedge Guard x 2
  • Man-Eater Bug x 1
  • Kuribon x 1
  • D.D. Warrior x 1
  • D.D. Warrior Lady x 1
  • Exxod, Master of the Guard x 1
  • Fortress Warrior x 1
  • Stealth Bird x 1
  • Criosphinx x 1
  • Moai Interceptor Cannons x 1
  • Golem Sentry x 1
  • Rockstone Warrior x 1
  • Giant Rat x 2
  • Guardian Statue x 2
  • Stone of the Aztecs x 3
  • Mecha Bunny x 3

SPELL

  • The Dark Door x 1
  • Rain of Mercy x 2
  • Misfortune x 2
  • Meteor of Destruction x 1
  • Heart of Clear Water x 1
  • Canyon x 1
  • Swords of Revealing Light x 1
  • Dimensional Fissure x 1
  • Emergency Provisions x 1
  • Tremendous Fire x 1
  • Toll x 1
  • Swords of Concealing Light x 1
  • Dark Room of Nightmare x 1
  • Level Limit - Area B x 1
  • Stumbling x 1

TRAPS

  • Imperial Custom x 1
  • D.D. Dynamite x 1
  • Meteor Flare x 1
  • Attack and Receive x 3
  • Secret Barrel x 1
  • Gravity Bind x 1
  • Magical Arm Shield x 1
  • The Eye of Truth x 1
  • Bad Reaction to Simochi x 1
  • Tower of Babel x 1
  • Ominous Fortunetelling x 1
  • Just Desserts x 1

I am honestly considering removing Heart of Clear Water and Canyon, because never have I used either of them. Clear Water was meant to be used on Exxod for extra protection but out of the few months I've had the deck and dueled my friends I've only pulled him out once! As for Canyon, it was only good to remove my friend's Pandemonium from the field, he was running an Archfiend deck. There are a few other removals I'm considering. A few other cards I have shown interest in are Scrap Iron Scarecrow for it's protection, Magic Cylinder for it's great burn usage and protection, and a Blast Sphere because it's damage capabilities.

Opinions anyone?

So you're converting from a Rock Deck to a burn deck? Clean out your Exxod and other unrelated Rock cards that don't burn first, then try to get cards like Stealth Bird, Solar Flare Dragon, Des Koala and Lava Golem. All of the above have some impressive burning abilities. Don't forget Spirit Reaper and Marshmallon as defensive walls to hide behind. Spells and Traps to look out for include Wave Motion Cannon, Just Desserts, Secret Barrel, Ceasefire, and Tremendous Fire.
You don't need Dimensional Fissure or D.D. Dynamite since you're not basing this Deck around Removal From Play, and take out The Eye of Truth, Rain of Mercy, and Bad Reaction to Simochi, since those little combos are reliant around one card to be effective. All this should be able to help you get started on changing your Deck from its current state to a better burn deck. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 12:27, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
