can stardust effect negate stardust effect ?

  • If you referred to Player 1's Stardust Dragon effect that could prevent Player 2's Stardust Dragon effect from destroy the require card you need to using. Then it would make a sense... Then, in my opinion, yes, since Stardust Dragon, the effect itself, stated to negate and destroy the card that could destroy any card you don't want to lost. FredCat100

Yes. Stardust destroys, does it not? 3-D 08:26, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Your "Stardust Dragon" can only negate your opponent's "Stardust Dragon" if your opponent's "Stardust Dragon" is trying to destroy a card on the field.
If "Stardust Dragon" is going to negate the effect of "Exiled Force", then "Stardust Dragon" will not destroy a card on the field ("Exiled Force" is in the Graveyard, so it cannot be destroyed), so your "Stardust Dragon" cannot negate the effect of your opponent's "Stardust Dragon".
If "Stardust Dragon" is going to negate the effect of "Dark Armed Dragon", then "Stardust Dragon" will destroy a card on the field ("Dark Armed Dragon" is still on the field), so your "Stardust Dragon" can negate the effect of your opponent's "Stardust Dragon".

  • But how ? What about this case : there are 2 Stardust Dragon from player A and player B , player A summon a monster , but player B response with Solemn Judgment to negate that summoning of that monster and destroy it , so can player A´s Stardust Dragon negate the efect of Solemn Judgment ? since Solemn Judgment´s efect is negate and destroy a card . I making this question because I remenber that this case happen in one of my local store tournament , the player A asked about it to the judge of the store´s tournament and he said that player A can´t do it since Solemn Judgment is a counter trap .. if somebody can explain me this , please do it , I really wanna know about it , maybe some day I´ll be in the same situation .. I hope answers , thanks --RockEdward 03:35, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
That is not possible. "Stardust Dragon" has a Spell Speed 2 Quick Effect, and "Solemn Judgment" is a Spell Speed 3 Counter Trap Card. Spell Speed 2 effects cannot be Chained to Spell Speed 3 effects, so "Stardust Dragon" cannot Chain to "Solemn Judgment".
Even if "Solemn Judgment" was Spell Speed 2, the monster is not considered to be on the field until its Summon is successful and completed. "Solemn Judgment" is activated before the Summon is successful/completed, so the monster is not considered to be on the field yet, so "Solemn Judgment" is not destroying a card on the field. Thus, "Stardust Dragon" cannot negate "Solemn Judgment".
